  • OMG! Bonnet doesn't get old!!! Is he a human?

  • ボネちゃんや

  • Grahm seems to be having trouble hitting those high notes in his old age....

  • @Xcorgi Time is not gentle with everybody, my friend (I guess he's not born-as-singer, maybe he learned to be one, like David Coverdale or James Hetfield); by the way, he has an album with this japanese band ANTHEM, and he sings really kick ass on that one, I recommend it, specially GYPSY WAYS... This particular album is known by HEAVY METAL ANTHEM... So cool...

  • The band got old (especially Graham Bonnet) and the fans stayed young, how is that possible?

  • GRAHAM FOREVER & EVER !!!!!

  • By the way, 2 hours ago I came from a show of Bonnet with Walter Giardino (Rata Blanca band) in Argentina... Sweet!!! Bonnet sang like a god!!!

  • my favorite singer Graham Bonnet

  • I saw them this year. Bonnet sounds much worse now. But nevertheless it was amazing to see him and to hear his voice.

  • Welcome back Alcatrazz........you have been sadly missed.

  • Totally amazing, for sure, I posted before, but cannot think of a better guitar player who could have done such justice to this song other than Malmsteen, and even at that, I bet he wouldnt have work as hard to make it sound so much like the way he originally played it. Kudos to this player, AND by the way, I am a pretty highly skilled player myself with 30 years playing experience, and Im still not THIS good. Im impressed and admire this level of skill. Very rare my friends.

  • IT CANT BE A COVER BAND IF GRAHAM IS THE LEAD SINGER AS HE WAS IN ALCATRAZZ....GET REAL

  • Alcatrazz IS Graham Bonnet

  • @Miciochecanta No! Alcatrazz was Malmsteen!!! only that.

  • not many people can do yngwie that good, this guy rocks, i hear steeler are gonna reunite, they should hire this dude, ya and graham sounds the same, great singer

  • Graham Bonnet has still got a set of pipes on him

  • Me neither! I just posted a question concerning Graham's whereabouts on an older video!

  • god, i saw these guys on their first tour. i can't believe they're still around.

  • are you fucking kidding me? Have you heard him sing yourself? Listening to a video and actually being there is a big difference. The man sings amazing and has the stamina of a man in his 30's. So don't talk shit

  • I have seen many video's of him with alcatraz and rainbow. And I've never seen a real good live performance. sorry...

  • and yngwie?? good song but i preffer it with yngwie

  • Geez whiz--there is some stability in this life...Bonnett looks, acts, dresses and sounds the same as he did in the mid 80's..Yes, a very underated..My god the power of his vocals-which are best heard on his CD with MSG-the best MSG album of all time--Assault Attack---yes guitar dude does a good job with Yngwi'es leads

  • Bonnet still sounds amazing. One of the most under rated singers ever. And Howie Simon is an amazing guitarist.

  • @mysteryguitarplayer1 Hell yes brotha!!!!!!!!

  • one octave down for Graham Bonnet

  • Comment removed

  • or six tones...

  • in a full tone scale yes

  • this is true rock n roll . nto the gangster garbage rap that is around on MTV...long live ROCK N ROLL

  • やっさん声しょぼくれたな

  • yes but He is in his 62th year...2009-1947: 62...But that's not important...Bonnet is still the best!

  • 62 now!

  • Bonnet is still fucking Great and his power and range are still here!

  • Bonnet struggled with this song when it was released, so it's no wonder that he doesn't quite nail it at the age of 60. Still a potent version, and it's cool to see him rocking out at his age.

Good playing by the whole band, but why can't the original guys in Alcatrazz just get together with Bonnet and do an album or something? Hell, I bet even Yngwie would join in on at least a couple of songs.

  • @YngtchieMusic loved your thoughts about this.

check out the jet to jet's 'power live' concert, with steve vai.

Via is slower than malmsteens, but shares more feelings with us.

Graham Bonnet is awesome in this concert too!

  • They love you, but you're in love with the spotlight ..you're the Spotlight Kid.

Blatant rip off of Blackmore by Yngwie.

  • Agreed. (note: I like Yngwie) This used to be one of my favorite Yngwie songs, but then I heard Spotlight Kid. Definitely ripped off, or maybe a subconcious mistake on Yngwie's part.

  • Hat´s off for Howie!

That solo is one of my absolute favourites all categories and he nailed it to 97%!!!

  • this shows again yngwies liking of ritchie blackmore...the riff is very similar

  • やっさん声出てへん・・・

  • Howie's a poser but still a good player

  • bonnet looks bored bored....

  • Graham Bonnet..

    he is 60years old!

  • ¡¡¡BONNETS RULES!!!

  • rick dahl

  • Bonnet sounds great..Wish they would come to the US!!

  • no malmsteen where go noobs?

  • japan

  • Bonnet should've gotten together with schenker

  • I think so too!!! It would be great!

  • Howie Simon is great, period. Some of you are just jealous you will never play like that.

  • Bonnet's a f'n legend!

  • It sounds like they changed the key of the original song. It would make sense to lower because those are some pretty insane notes for a 60 year old man to hit. But I could be wrong.

  • its in the original key...A natural minor.some recording arent in the pitch that is played in real time.so the pitch is changed to A flat

  • This is not in the same key as the original.

  • did you read my comment at all?the original key is A minor and this is A flat minor due the recording

  • ???

    where did you learn that?

  • graham bonet doesnt change keys on songs and sometimes due recordings keys on the recording are half step up or down....like satriani's instrumental always with me,always with you is in B natural major(ionian mode) and on cd's its in C natural major

  • The recording process doesnt change keys. Depending on tape speed at playback or recording pitches can be effected but that sort of thing would be the result of intent not the physical properties of ANY recording process.

If your guitar is tuned to 440 and you record a song....then record a live show at 440 you will be in the same key and at the same pitch.

  • Continuing of from my longer post (damn 500 character limit)

If you went to a recording school and learned what you are saying you need to go and get a refund. I dont want this exchange to be heated or for you to take what I am saying as an insult to you but you are incorrect.

  • well said

  • Great, great Graham Bonnet...never die!!

  • @frankisstainer THANKS FOR UR SUPPORT...GRAHAM IS ACTUALLY MY UNCLE...ISNT HE AWESOME

  • Graham is my favourite singer ever!!!!

  • Horrible tone? Christ the guy is a guitar virtuoso. You wish you could play half as good as him.

  • Howie Simon who also plays with Yngwie's old singer, Jeff Scott Soto.

  • he sounds like a fourteen year old kid who just got his first high gain amp...

just kidding, he's not that bad!

  • bonnet still gots his voice unlike vince neil and stephen pearcy

  • Bonnet's voice still sounds young...He has a harder time hitting th higher notes but his voice remains much the same.

  • Right ON!

    that dude is 60!!!

compare him to gillan and plant.

i really respect those guys but

they lost their powerful expression long ago!!!plant already lost his power in the 70's, although gillan is still able to do his high screams (with another different quality) he's lost his normal powerful voice though...

bonnet sings at least with the same powerfull expression he did many years ago!

i guess from out of all the old singers coverdale, bonnet and dio are the best

  • and glen huse.....

  • Remember Bonnet I think is half Japanese - that solo was right on!

  • J S Soto is very good but Bonnet is on another Planet...Pure class...

  • jeff scott soto is a much better singer live. bonnet still the man though its a mean song too

  • I really love the song and Mr.Bonnet!! His voice is still shining!! Thanks for upload:)

  • spotlight kid Rainbow me thinks. terrible.

  • Buena ,Bonnet y buena guitarra se las mandaron ¿como se llama el guitarrista?

  • who plays keyboard?

  • Those who think of Bonnet's technology are hissed, we are speaking about a type of mas about 60 years and that has spent the half of his life in bands of heavy rock, it is obvious that already he does not sing like before the one who can do it? Did Gillan, Give, Plant? Bonnet still sings and in an excellent record.

Brave for Bonnet and his band, who make be call Alcatrazz, because the real ones never did anything without Bonnet

  • Well,I´ve been too much extremist...of course Bonnet got a great voice, but in the chorus, he lose control in the high notes, that´s when he sounds out of tune, cryin´as a detuned crazy cat ..

  • perhaps Bonnet rocks...but he shouldn´t do it so high, he´s always out of tune..do you really can´t feel it? I will never understand rock stuff XDD

  • he's in tune!

  • i think he's hitting the solo cleanly, its just his guitar sound is too dirty/too distorted.

  • Bonnet rocks!

  • typical Graham Bonnett. Can't sing recorded his stuff live. This goes back to 1984 when I saw him with Yngwie. He's an outstanding singer - but only in the studio. I've seen him about a dozen times over 23 years and he delivered vocally maybe a 1/3 of those shows. Very inconsistent. He "pulls chest" too much. Not enough head voice.

  • The Voice Of Rock!!!!

  • Mr. Graham Bonnet rulzz ! All respect.

  • Damn, I had no idea Alcatrazz was back. Granted, I've never heard of any of the musos, but still...

  • i was there that time...hes voice was sooo amazing!!! superb! bonnet rules!

  • bonnet is the greatest!

  • Excellent version, Bonnet sounds amazing and the band kills! More from this show please!!

  • Not bad

  • Hahahaha that is SOO cool! Bonnet actually reaches the heights that VERY few 25-year olds can do!! And he is 60!!!! That is just insane. Hope he can do Jet to Jet when he's 70 too... I guess that would be a world record :)

  • whos that guitarist? no where near clean as malmsteen.

  • Howie Simon (from Talisman and Jeff Scott Soto).

    "far beyond Yngwie"

  • Howie Simon on guitar, this guy is awesome. His stuff with Talisman is amazing, as well as his stuff on the solo Jeff Scott Soto releases.

Not sure what you mean him not being as clean as Yngwie, he hit that solo perfectly.

Howie also has a cover band called Alcohollica, playing Metallica covers.

  • thanks dude....thannnnnnks...

    Bonnet rocks!

  • Malmsteen > Vai > this guy

  • JAJAJAJAJAJAJA!!!

  • think he sounds better then he usually do nowadays... really cool. really hard song to do!

  • There is no way this is Alcatrazz.

  • That sold out crowd doesn't seem to agree with you.

  • My ears and logic do. It's nothing more than a cover band. They were expecting the orginal version, and Graham tricked them. No honor there...

  • There's no trick, the band was calling Alcatrazz featuring Graham Bonnet, stop the bullshit please!!! The crowd went mad and I read that in many were moved to tears!

  • How on Earth can you think anyone was tricked? It's called Alcatrazz featuring Graham Bonnet and there's a brand new photo with the new members that was all over websites and the posters in Japan promoting the concerts. The new members named were announced on Blabbermouth and Graham's site, as well as this being called a "new" project. If this is a cover band than they cover it as good as the original...actually tighter than the original. Nobody went home missing the old rhythm section.

  • even flat , Graham rules

  • Only a semitone and only in this song, there othere three here ar in the original key!!!

  • Bonnet is f.. crazy.. this songs are very high!

    bonnet rules!haha

  • I love it!!! Graham Bonnet Rules!!! Thank a lot!!!Plese, post the whole show!!!!Thank you so much!
