@Xcorgi Time is not gentle with everybody, my friend (I guess he's not born-as-singer, maybe he learned to be one, like David Coverdale or James Hetfield); by the way, he has an album with this japanese band ANTHEM, and he sings really kick ass on that one, I recommend it, specially GYPSY WAYS... This particular album is known by HEAVY METAL ANTHEM... So cool...
Totally amazing, for sure, I posted before, but cannot think of a better guitar player who could have done such justice to this song other than Malmsteen, and even at that, I bet he wouldnt have work as hard to make it sound so much like the way he originally played it. Kudos to this player, AND by the way, I am a pretty highly skilled player myself with 30 years playing experience, and Im still not THIS good. Im impressed and admire this level of skill. Very rare my friends.
not many people can do yngwie that good, this guy rocks, i hear steeler are gonna reunite, they should hire this dude, ya and graham sounds the same, great singer
@espectroazul00 creo que lo unico que ha quedado iwal es el cantante,,, el resto son otra gente,,, y si q parece una estatua el guitarrista en el solo xdd
are you fucking kidding me? Have you heard him sing yourself? Listening to a video and actually being there is a big difference. The man sings amazing and has the stamina of a man in his 30's. So don't talk shit
Geez whiz--there is some stability in this life...Bonnett looks, acts, dresses and sounds the same as he did in the mid 80's..Yes, a very underated..My god the power of his vocals-which are best heard on his CD with MSG-the best MSG album of all time--Assault Attack---yes guitar dude does a good job with Yngwi'es leads
Bonnet struggled with this song when it was released, so it's no wonder that he doesn't quite nail it at the age of 60. Still a potent version, and it's cool to see him rocking out at his age.
Good playing by the whole band, but why can't the original guys in Alcatrazz just get together with Bonnet and do an album or something? Hell, I bet even Yngwie would join in on at least a couple of songs.
Agreed. (note: I like Yngwie) This used to be one of my favorite Yngwie songs, but then I heard Spotlight Kid. Definitely ripped off, or maybe a subconcious mistake on Yngwie's part.
It sounds like they changed the key of the original song. It would make sense to lower because those are some pretty insane notes for a 60 year old man to hit. But I could be wrong.
graham bonet doesnt change keys on songs and sometimes due recordings keys on the recording are half step up or down....like satriani's instrumental always with me,always with you is in B natural major(ionian mode) and on cd's its in C natural major
The recording process doesnt change keys. Depending on tape speed at playback or recording pitches can be effected but that sort of thing would be the result of intent not the physical properties of ANY recording process.
If your guitar is tuned to 440 and you record a song....then record a live show at 440 you will be in the same key and at the same pitch.
Continuing of from my longer post (damn 500 character limit)
If you went to a recording school and learned what you are saying you need to go and get a refund. I dont want this exchange to be heated or for you to take what I am saying as an insult to you but you are incorrect.
they lost their powerful expression long ago!!!plant already lost his power in the 70's, although gillan is still able to do his high screams (with another different quality) he's lost his normal powerful voice though...
bonnet sings at least with the same powerfull expression he did many years ago!
i guess from out of all the old singers coverdale, bonnet and dio are the best
Those who think of Bonnet's technology are hissed, we are speaking about a type of mas about 60 years and that has spent the half of his life in bands of heavy rock, it is obvious that already he does not sing like before the one who can do it? Did Gillan, Give, Plant? Bonnet still sings and in an excellent record.
Brave for Bonnet and his band, who make be call Alcatrazz, because the real ones never did anything without Bonnet
Well,I´ve been too much extremist...of course Bonnet got a great voice, but in the chorus, he lose control in the high notes, that´s when he sounds out of tune, cryin´as a detuned crazy cat ..
typical Graham Bonnett. Can't sing recorded his stuff live. This goes back to 1984 when I saw him with Yngwie. He's an outstanding singer - but only in the studio. I've seen him about a dozen times over 23 years and he delivered vocally maybe a 1/3 of those shows. Very inconsistent. He "pulls chest" too much. Not enough head voice.
Hahahaha that is SOO cool! Bonnet actually reaches the heights that VERY few 25-year olds can do!! And he is 60!!!! That is just insane. Hope he can do Jet to Jet when he's 70 too... I guess that would be a world record :)
There's no trick, the band was calling Alcatrazz featuring Graham Bonnet, stop the bullshit please!!! The crowd went mad and I read that in many were moved to tears!
How on Earth can you think anyone was tricked? It's called Alcatrazz featuring Graham Bonnet and there's a brand new photo with the new members that was all over websites and the posters in Japan promoting the concerts. The new members named were announced on Blabbermouth and Graham's site, as well as this being called a "new" project.
