Sam is definitely the dominant songwriter in DF. Just listen to his old bands Demoniac and Power Quest. They sound a lot like DF musically. Herman is better at soloing, but Sam is the better riff writer.

It still sounded foul. You can play all the right notes and fail to put decent phrasing or vibrato on them, which is pretty much what Totman and Li do. Even the studio recordings make we wince sometimes; you can only imagine how the live performances make me feel.
