That was weird, at one point in the video i watched young link SHFFL, which is something i can't do with him yet. Yet, at 1:02 i watched him jump off an edge backwards instead of wave dashing backwards. SHFFLing is much harder than wavedashing, was it just that you had the extra time and didnt need to wavedash off the edge?

@GiantsMask It's hard to see, but Wak (the player in the video, not me) fires an arrow in order to turn around. To do it, get into the air, tap the opposite direction you're facing on the control stick, let it go back to the center, and then press B.

You can't say that brawl is shit, because wavedashing and L-Cancel isn't there. I can do both of them in melee, but i like brawl more, because you have to play more strategical. With L-Cancel you can do any attack and dodge, if you haven't hit you're opponent, any attack of you're enemy. And wavedashing is for those, who blast the enemys away and want to get so fast as he can to him and finish his combo and also for dogding attacks.

But in Brawl you can't do it, so it is more strategical

And why? You can't say not really without a reason. There are also many pro's in brawl. Search for Izaw for example.

But its also easier too be a pro in brawl. All you have to know how to do is space and camp. THATS ALL.

So how is brawl more strategic? Melee has much more strategys and options than brawl. Wavedashing is only for spacing(you can't escape a combo with a wavedash). Also stop talking like melee is the game with no direct play because brawl almost no direct play. Nothing but spacing and camping.

But you would like brawl+. There you can have your L-cancel and wavedash ;-)

Actually, with today's pros, you need a lot of those techniques and at least a couple unique combos.

Well the fancy techniques do help when facing skilled smashers, such as Ken or Bombsoldier. Aniki, however, never Wavedashes so he can prove that Wavedashes do not need to be preformed. (Or because Link's Wavedash is a lot shorter than most characters).
