Whatever Dr is saying is using his own interpretation of the Quran. We always say that follow Quran and Sunnah on the Understanding of the Sahabah. They did not promote or use music as we have these days. If that is the how the Sahabah followed Quran and Sunnah then we have no option to derive our own meanings and interpretations.
on your ''They did not promote or use music'', its not about, should be 'promote' or otherwise the music or not.......... its just that is it permitted in islam or not, and doctor sahb has very logically explained it that its not prohibited in islam, provided that it means certain conditions....

@ibrimustafa Your criticism is not objective. Instead of finding flaw in the logic and understanding of Dr Khan, you called him jerk and munafiq. Now its between you, Allah and Dr khan (killed by TTP last week). Now for your arguments, you cannot have khusooh in salat if you are distracted by any worldly thought. Be it your studies, work or family etc. By your logic list of haram will be infinite. So dont push too much and leave derivation of Haram and Halal on Quran, Sunnah and ahadeeth alone.
@zafarqos YOU DID NOT ANSWER MY QUESTION. IF MUSIC IS THE PART OF THE UNIVERSE AND MOSQUE IS THE PART OF THE UNIVERSE THEN WHY SHOULD WE NOT PLAY MUSIC IN THE MOSQUE AFTER PRAYING?? @ibrimustafa I did answer your argument. The answer of your fresh argument also lies in my previous reply. In fact you did not answer Dr Farooq's arguments that I pointed to, objectively. Please read previous posts and ponder. Regarding your new accusation on late Dr Khan, I say again, its between you Allah and him. If your claim is false its "buhtan". If its true, its "gheebat" since the person in not alive. Wasalam.
@zafarqos NO YOU DID NOT ANSWER MY QUESTION. JUST ASK SONG LISTENERS HOW MANY TIMES DO THEY PRAY AND ASK WORSHIPERS WHO GO TO THE MOSQUE FIVE TIMES A DAY THAT HOW MANY TIMES THEY LISTEN TO THE MUSIC. SKIPPING OR NOT CONCENTRATING ON SALAH DUE TO MUSIC IS MUCH WORSE THAN THE THOUGHTS DISTRACTING OUR MINDS.
YOU HAVE STILL NOT ASWERED IF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS ARE HALAL WHY NOT USING THEM IN THE MOSQUE?
@ibrimustafa Since you are unable to see objectively. The answer to your first satire (tanz) that you call "question" is already in my previous post "you cannot have khusooh in salat if you are distracted by any worldly thought. Be it your studies, work or family etc" By your logic having family, worldly studies, sports etc should be haram.
For second question: You cannot do music in Masjid due to the same reason you cannot play cricket, have picnic or be friendly with your wife in there.
The sahih ahadith that condemn pictures are more in number than those which condemn music. But after more than a mellenium of abstaining from it the picture has been largely accepted as a way of life by most muslim scholars. Otherthan those which contain basic sins such as shirk, vulgarity, hate etc. Those who consider music haram, by the same logic should be even more particular about picture and NEVER come to youtube!
@zainjmu Late Dr Farooq quoted Quran and Ahadeeth. You could contradict him objectively but referred to ijmah besides using disrespectful words for him. Quran Suannah and Ahadeeth are sources of Islam, Ijmah is is an agreed human interpretation. Divine Sources cannot be questioned, human interpretation can be.
I have lived in Pakistan 29 years of my life, but I think Pakistan is a fitna country after careful consideration. This country has so much evil, that if any country destroys this country with an atomic bomb, I don't think any country in this world would mourn the loss as Pakistan has not contributed with anything. This country is 97% muslim, but look at this country who is still debating who is muslim and who is not. May Allah bless Dr. Farooq Khan in Jannatul Firdaus, Ameen.
@salmanhasan71 This jerk said music is a part of the universe and its not haram, so somebody should have asked him if that so then why should not we have music classes in the mosque??? these munafiqs hurt islam a lot. Even someone with tiny brain and having little knowledge of islam would have thought that if allah is forcing to have khusooh or khuzoo in salat then how is it possible who listen to music to follow allahs orders ?
@salmanhasan71 WOW - you have no problem killing millions of innocent - mind you innocent people. My brother, a better thing is to make dua that may Allah show Pakistan and the Pakistanis the straight path, the path of those whom He has shown mercy upon.
@adnanilyas Unfortunately, Allah has shown mercy on this nation many times, but this nation is selfish, thankless, corrupt and inhuman. A country where women have no rights, minorities have no rights, no ethics and morals in conducting daily affairs of life. I am not surprised that we have corrupt and selfish rulers. A country which is 97% muslims feel so much threatened by western influence. I wonder if our Prophet Mohammad had reacted the same way, nobody would have joined Islam back then.
@salmanhasan71 yo dude keep ur stupid opinions to urself just becasue u dont know anything abt ur own country doesnt mean that ur country has not contributed to anything in this world go read the history and scientific and political history of ur country then post ur comments
@62Peace Personal experiences are different from person to person and cannot be used to give a general conclusion. Music may be way of relaxing for some, ibadah for others and temptation for sin for some others. Everyone should treat it according to their own inclinations.
May Allah be pleased with his soul, Allah de obakha Farooq sahib, khude de staso la pa Jannat-ul-Firdaus ki ze darke. Ameen Summa Ameen, f*****g Taliban, f**k them up.
Today Dr. Muhammad Farooq Khan was assassinated. Another respected scholar killed in the this land of the pure by the fitna of militant expression. May Allah bless his soul and save our scholars for our guidance.
Yes, there are a lot of weak hadith and fake hadith. It is simple, any hadith that not parallel with Quran is weak or fake. Do you find that in Quran? NO...like i said if Allah want to make things haram, Allah can said clearly in Quran. Does Allah incapable to say such thing or forgetful???
@Nizaris1 ....Allah swt has said in Quran in sura Alhashar....Take whatever prophet Muhammad pbuh gives you and forbid from whatever he forbids you...If Allah SWT is to say every thing in Quran, then why He wants us to follow prophet. Secondly yes Allah SWT has said in Quran everything which take you away from Allah's way that is tagoot and some kinds of music is one of them that is haram.
Wind and string instruments is haram while drum, daff is not.
furthermore, Quran and hadith is not to taken lightly, each have asbab and history about it. When making law, it is not just pick any verse and apply. That is foolish and blind judgment. When study Quran we must study the asbab ul nuzub.
Respond to this video...there is difference between rhythm and music. Quranic recitation is rhythmic not music....If music is such a nice and Halal thing the Adhan and recitation should have been accompanied with music.
No, the issue is "music is haram", not music with musical instrument or without musical instrument is haram or halal. Can you see the confusion they made out of ignorance? Music is general term for all harmony sounds with tempo and beat. If music is haram then almost all sounds we hear are haram. That is why before making any judgment, scholars must study the matter first and not judging only by assumptions.
Music halal or haram is a small matter, furu' in religion because there is no verse in Quran or hadith clearly said about it, it just scholars made up, none of them really study music but want to talk about music, they just using assumptions. Just because western bad music are popular now, doesn't mean music itself is haram. Example, alcohol is chemical substance, put it into drink then it is haram to drink, but use for medical purpose is halal, it is antiseptic.
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said (in Shahih Bukhari, Vol.7 Hadith No. 5590), "From among my followers there will be some who will consider zina , the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, "Return to us tomorrow'...(remaining hadith: next post)...
@62Peace ...(from previous post): ''...,but they will say to him, ''Return to us tomorrow'. Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection."
Another hadith: Ibn Majah: Vol 5, Hadith 4020: The messenger of Allah (s) said: ''Some people of my Ummah will drink wine, calling it by other than its real name...hadith continues in next post, inshallah.
@62Peace (hadith proceeding from last post: "Some people of my Ummah will drink wine, calling it by other than its real name, merriment will be made for them through the playing of musical instruments and the singing of lady singers. Allah will cleave the earth under them and turn them into monkeys and swines".
Ibn Ma'jah (one of the six most authentic books on ahadith): Vol 5, hadith# 4020.
@Nizaris1 And, apart from people like Javed Ghamdi who have different opinions on the hijab of women and who even go so far as to say that the coming of Hazrat Isa (a.s) is a misconception which is why I do not put my trust in him as his Qiyas serves to devaite from Islam's rulings, there are tens of thousands of scholars covering the four Sunni schools of thought: Hanafi School, Maliki School, Shafi'i school and Hanbali School who say that listening to music is prohibited in Islam.
Not all ulama'/scholars are real ulama', remember the hadith said in the end days there will be men who deceive the world by religion. The fake scholars who don't know what they talking about. Just taking here and there from the scripture and say things. How many ulama' who study music before talk about music? How many ulama' study politic before talk about politic? As well as other things like science, economy ect...how many?
That hadith is a prophecy that one day in the future there will be people doing that kind of festival, that festival is haram, not about music is haram, but conducting or involve in such festival is haram.
@Nizaris1 What part of "From among my followers there will be some who will consider zina , the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful'' do you find ambiguous? Is this statement not explanatory enough to understand the people will consider alcohol, zina and music halal when it is haram ? (i hope you have no doubts abt the prohibition of zina and alcohol).
Like i said, that hadith describe a situation where zina, alcohol and music is in one situation. The hadith is hanging. The word "the use of", meaning it being used for a reason and that reason associated with haram things that is zina and alcohol. "Wearing silk" means a costume for a festival, peoples not wearing silk anytime but occasionally.
The hadith is talking about situation, what situation? A situation look like a festivals where the peoples are wearing silk, drinking alcohol, doing zina and there is musical instrument being played. It is NOT about music is haram.
@Nizaris1 There are only three scholars who are an exception, but majority of the scholars, and when I say majority, I literally mean 99.9% of scholars, have concurred and come to the conclusion that music should be avoided. And there are many instances wherein the Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) Companions were passing by a place where music was being played and they would put their hands over their ears not wanting to hear it as it would affect them.
@62Peace Reference for the following paragraph: Musnad Ahmed, Abu Daud, Ibn Majah:
And there are many instances wherein the Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) Companions were passing by a place where music was being played and they would put their hands over their ears not wanting to hear it as it would affect them.
Now, if you think your theory about situations and festivals make more sense than what the learned scholars have to say, well, then...what can I say?
The prophet is a prophet, maybe he don't like music, but that doesn't make it haram. I give you example, if you say what the prophet don't do or don't involve in is haram, then many things you do today is haram. The prophet don't hang out at You Tube. Does anybody say You Tube is haram or should be avoided?
Now you say HARAM or SHOULD BE AVOIDED? Both is not the same. Something that should be avoided doesn't always make that thing is haram. It is totally different thing.
@Nizaris1 Pardon my English. You're right. 'Should be avoided' is different. The scholars say Music is haraam. And I suppose you're unaware of Hazrat Abdullah ibn Masud's relation with the Prophet (s). And you must be unaware of the significance of the 4 Sunni School of thought. Kindly, do not mix them with the fake scholars you think are so dominantly prevailing over Islam. And these scholars certainly donot fall in the period of the 'end days'.
prophet Muhammad is the sign of the end days. Surah Al-Qamar clearly said that, "the Hour have come and the moon have split" (Al Qamar 1-2). So we all now in the end period. Look, i don't condemned all ulama', but i reject ulama' who don't study the matter just studying old books and talk about new thing and new issues. i reject scholars that are not humble and arrogant acting know it all and everybody is a sinner. Their knowledge is only in their books.
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said (in Shahih Bukhari, the most authentic source of Ahadith known to us, in Vol.7 Hadith No. 5590), "From among my followers there will be some who will consider zina , the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something
@Nizaris1 Err, if you want me to explain to you the ABC of stuff, then I am sorry I can't help you there. And if there is a difference in your mind about music and its musical instrument, and in understanding that one in the pair is the source of the other, then I can't help you there too. It's like you're saying water is not H2O. But you were right where you said the hadith was hanging because I ran out of characters. I'll write them in the following posts. Inshallah.
water is not H2o, that is a molecule of water. Anyway, that is different isue. Now i ask you, what is music? If you don't know, you have no right to say anything about it. There is hadith saying that there will come the time where something is given to someone who have no authority on it.
@Nizaris1 Is there a need to say more on this subject? There is not for what is there to say when the Qur'an and the Sunnah are very clear on this. Except that I will share what Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), the famous companion of the Prophet (pbuh) said. He said, "The heart is only like one fragile vessel. You can only fill it with the love of one thing and if you fill it with the love of music, you are going to block it from the love of the Qur'an".
@Nizaris1 And as for what I know about music and all, sure i don't know much...but I know enough to stay away from it.
And true the Noble Qur'an doesnot speak anywhere about music but it does command to keep away from vain speech and fahash [And (the believers are) those who shun vain conversation.] (Al-Mu’minun 23:3)...and frankly speaking, other than cartoons, lullabies, patriotic anthems and other ver songs, I do not know where to find music (or music videos) separated from fahash...
I am a musician, my late father was a musician, my mother was a singer and my siblings all in music and dancing world. You want to condemn us all eh? Who are you to condemn musicians? Allah who made musician, Allah who give the gift, not all peoples can play music, it is an ability. You want to blame Allah who give this ability? I be thankful to have this ability and knowledge, it is a gift from Allah. Who are you to deny what have given by Allah?
And YOU and scolars must not forget that there are MILLIONS of human being on earth with different ethnicity, culture, background. That is why there is not a single verse clearly saying "music is haram". The haram thing are basic thing that is bad and that clearly said in Quran. General thing, such as alcohol, zina and gambling. Also what we can eat or haram to eat. NO SINGLE VERSE saying music is haram. Period. God don't say it but you and ignorant fake scholars say it.
@Nizaris1 Secondly, if your whole family is into music, don't ask me if I condemn you all. My stance differs from yours as it is. But I do know that being in one Islamic Sisterhood, I must wish the well of all Muslims. yet again, I cannot sit by and let people like Javed Ghamdi and his team make haraam into halaal. If you choose a different course, that is your choice. But for millions of people who use youtube, I cannot let this folly go unquestioned.
So you condemning peoples eh, are you acting God? Allah said if Allah were to punish human, not a single life form would survive, i don't which verse i remember it. So don't act like you know everything and holier than anyother people. Be humble, our knowledge are only one molecule of one drop of water in the ocean.
People like Muhtaram Ghamidi and Dr.Farook is blessing of Allah, specially for the tribal soceity of Pashtuns misguided (some) by the so called illetrate Mullahs
The fact is that Sufis promoted Islam by music they replaced Sanskrit words by Persian and later Urdu and preached them so Is that Haram...I think Dr. is right the use counts!!!

For second question: You cannot do music in Masjid due to the same reason you cannot play cricket, have picnic or be friendly with your wife in there.
zafarqos 1 year ago
The sahih ahadith that condemn pictures are more in number than those which condemn music. But after more than a mellenium of abstaining from it the picture has been largely accepted as a way of life by most muslim scholars. Otherthan those which contain basic sins such as shirk, vulgarity, hate etc. Those who consider music haram, by the same logic should be even more particular about picture and NEVER come to youtube!

Neem Hakem ... Khatra e jan....
Dr. Farooq could be a good medical doctor, but he is not an Islamic Almee Deen.
I am surprised that how could he interpret the Quran and Hadith so wrongly.
it is of the Ijmae Ummat that Music is Haram ...anyway.... May Allah give him peace/
zainjmu 1 year ago

Even someone with tiny brain and having little knowledge of islam would have thought that if allah is forcing to have khusooh or khuzoo in salat then how is it possible who listen to music to follow allahs orders ?
ibrimustafa 1 year ago
@salmanhasan71 WOW - you have no problem killing millions of innocent - mind you innocent people. My brother, a better thing is to make dua that may Allah show Pakistan and the Pakistanis the straight path, the path of those whom He has shown mercy upon.
adnanilyas 1 year ago

Nizaris1 1 year ago
@Nizaris1 ....Allah swt has said in Quran in sura Alhashar....Take whatever prophet Muhammad pbuh gives you and forbid from whatever he forbids you...If Allah SWT is to say every thing in Quran, then why He wants us to follow prophet. Secondly yes Allah SWT has said in Quran everything which take you away from Allah's way that is tagoot and some kinds of music is one of them that is haram.
Wind and string instruments is haram while drum, daff is not.

@adeelrehman
there are many fake and weak hadith.
Nizaris1 1 year ago
@adeelrehman
furthermore, Quran and hadith is not to taken lightly, each have asbab and history about it. When making law, it is not just pick any verse and apply. That is foolish and blind judgment. When study Quran we must study the asbab ul nuzub.
Nizaris1 1 year ago
Respond to this video...there is difference between rhythm and music. Quranic recitation is rhythmic not music....If music is such a nice and Halal thing the Adhan and recitation should have been accompanied with music.
adeelrehman 1 year ago
@adeelrehman
rhythm is music
Nizaris1 1 year ago
@arslkhan
Nizaris1 1 year ago
@arslkhan
Music halal or haram is a small matter, furu' in religion because there is no verse in Quran or hadith clearly said about it, it just scholars made up, none of them really study music but want to talk about music, they just using assumptions. Just because western bad music are popular now, doesn't mean music itself is haram. Example, alcohol is chemical substance, put it into drink then it is haram to drink, but use for medical purpose is halal, it is antiseptic.

going to university for Allah is ibadah, study knowledge is ibadah...music is one of infinite knowledge from Allah...use is for Allah.

62Peace 1 year ago
@62Peace ...(from previous post): ''...,but they will say to him, ''Return to us tomorrow'. Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection."
Another hadith: Ibn Majah: Vol 5, Hadith 4020: The messenger of Allah (s) said: ''Some people of my Ummah will drink wine, calling it by other than its real name...hadith continues in next post, inshallah.
62Peace 1 year ago
@62Peace (hadith proceeding from last post: "Some people of my Ummah will drink wine, calling it by other than its real name, merriment will be made for them through the playing of musical instruments and the singing of lady singers. Allah will cleave the earth under them and turn them into monkeys and swines".
Ibn Ma'jah (one of the six most authentic books on ahadith): Vol 5, hadith# 4020.

@62Peace
If you look at the hadith, where it is said "music is haram"? Give me only ONE sentence in Quran and hadith saying "music is haram".
Nizaris1 1 year ago
@Nizaris1 And, apart from people like Javed Ghamdi who have different opinions on the hijab of women and who even go so far as to say that the coming of Hazrat Isa (a.s) is a misconception which is why I do not put my trust in him as his Qiyas serves to devaite from Islam's rulings, there are tens of thousands of scholars covering the four Sunni schools of thought: Hanafi School, Maliki School, Shafi'i school and Hanbali School who say that listening to music is prohibited in Islam.
62Peace 1 year ago
@62Peace
Nizaris1 1 year ago
@62Peace
That hadith is a prophecy that one day in the future there will be people doing that kind of festival, that festival is haram, not about music is haram, but conducting or involve in such festival is haram.
Nizaris1 1 year ago
@Nizaris1 What part of "From among my followers there will be some who will consider zina , the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful'' do you find ambiguous? Is this statement not explanatory enough to understand the people will consider alcohol, zina and music halal when it is haram ? (i hope you have no doubts abt the prohibition of zina and alcohol).
62Peace 1 year ago
@62Peace
Nizaris1 1 year ago
@62Peace
The hadith is talking about situation, what situation? A situation look like a festivals where the peoples are wearing silk, drinking alcohol, doing zina and there is musical instrument being played. It is NOT about music is haram.
Nizaris1 1 year ago
@Nizaris1 There are only three scholars who are an exception, but majority of the scholars, and when I say majority, I literally mean 99.9% of scholars, have concurred and come to the conclusion that music should be avoided. And there are many instances wherein the Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) Companions were passing by a place where music was being played and they would put their hands over their ears not wanting to hear it as it would affect them.
62Peace 1 year ago
@62Peace Reference for the following paragraph: Musnad Ahmed, Abu Daud, Ibn Majah:
And there are many instances wherein the Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) Companions were passing by a place where music was being played and they would put their hands over their ears not wanting to hear it as it would affect them.
Now, if you think your theory about situations and festivals make more sense than what the learned scholars have to say, well, then...what can I say?
62Peace 1 year ago
@62Peace
Nizaris1 1 year ago
@62Peace
Now you say HARAM or SHOULD BE AVOIDED? Both is not the same. Something that should be avoided doesn't always make that thing is haram. It is totally different thing.
Nizaris1 1 year ago
@Nizaris1 Pardon my English. You're right. 'Should be avoided' is different. The scholars say Music is haraam. And I suppose you're unaware of Hazrat Abdullah ibn Masud's relation with the Prophet (s). And you must be unaware of the significance of the 4 Sunni School of thought. Kindly, do not mix them with the fake scholars you think are so dominantly prevailing over Islam. And these scholars certainly donot fall in the period of the 'end days'.
62Peace 1 year ago
@62Peace
prophet Muhammad is the sign of the end days.
Nizaris1 1 year ago
How about this one:
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said (in Shahih Bukhari, the most authentic source of Ahadith known to us, in Vol.7 Hadith No. 5590), "From among my followers there will be some who will consider zina , the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something
62Peace 2 years ago 2
@62Peace
"musical instrument" is not music. Period. Secondly, "the use of" means use for something", for what?
Hadith is hanging somewhere...
Nizaris1 1 year ago
@Nizaris1 Err, if you want me to explain to you the ABC of stuff, then I am sorry I can't help you there. And if there is a difference in your mind about music and its musical instrument, and in understanding that one in the pair is the source of the other, then I can't help you there too. It's like you're saying water is not H2O. But you were right where you said the hadith was hanging because I ran out of characters. I'll write them in the following posts. Inshallah.
62Peace 1 year ago
@62Peace
water is not H2o, that is a molecule of water. Anyway, that is different isue. Now i ask you, what is music? If you don't know, you have no right to say anything about it. There is hadith saying that there will come the time where something is given to someone who have no authority on it.
Nizaris1 1 year ago
@Nizaris1 Is there a need to say more on this subject? There is not for what is there to say when the Qur'an and the Sunnah are very clear on this. Except that I will share what Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), the famous companion of the Prophet (pbuh) said. He said, "The heart is only like one fragile vessel. You can only fill it with the love of one thing and if you fill it with the love of music, you are going to block it from the love of the Qur'an".
62Peace 1 year ago
@62Peace
that is just his personal opinion. It cannot be made a law.
Nizaris1 1 year ago
@Nizaris1 And as for what I know about music and all, sure i don't know much...but I know enough to stay away from it.
And true the Noble Qur'an doesnot speak anywhere about music but it does command to keep away from vain speech and fahash [And (the believers are) those who shun vain conversation.] (Al-Mu’minun 23:3)...and frankly speaking, other than cartoons, lullabies, patriotic anthems and other ver songs, I do not know where to find music (or music videos) separated from fahash...
62Peace 1 year ago
@62Peace
Nizaris1 1 year ago
@62Peace
Nizaris1 1 year ago
@Nizaris1 Secondly, if your whole family is into music, don't ask me if I condemn you all. My stance differs from yours as it is. But I do know that being in one Islamic Sisterhood, I must wish the well of all Muslims. yet again, I cannot sit by and let people like Javed Ghamdi and his team make haraam into halaal. If you choose a different course, that is your choice. But for millions of people who use youtube, I cannot let this folly go unquestioned.
62Peace 1 year ago
@62Peace
So you condemning peoples eh, are you acting God? Allah said if Allah were to punish human, not a single life form would survive, i don't which verse i remember it. So don't act like you know everything and holier than anyother people. Be humble, our knowledge are only one molecule of one drop of water in the ocean.
