very realistic my dad was abusive when i was a kid even tho he didn't drink so much. he beat me and would always take everything out on me and yell at me for no reason. i hate him still but he can't beat me anymore even though he still lashes me verbally when he gets the chance.

sad situation on both sides of it. powerful moment when the father says he's "trying to be a good dad", but the alcohol prevents him from doing it. i only have one problem, if social services came to remove a child from a home, they would remove ALL children who were under 18. there's no way in hell the police and the judge who issued the warrant would let the other child remain in the home at the mercy of his now enraged drunken father.
