woah, i can't belive this exists... this particular show really did change my life, we even saw wayne and steve walking around in the woods later that night
Yes, it really is Oklahoma's state rock song. (All of the guys are from OK.) The song was written by Wayne Coyne while one of his bandmates was having a very tough time kicking his heroin habit and Wayne was still experiencing the grief of his own father's death.
I love this song AND the way it is performed. It perfectly captures the realization we all experience as we age---and , hopefully, the appreciation we gain for our own lives and those of others.
This video is hard to understand. They look like a fun concert, but the singers seemed to have a hard time hitting their notes. Not that impressed, but if I was invited to a concert, I'd probably go, because it looks like fun.
I remember seeing them in concert when they opened up for RHCP. I didn't think I would like them but they are so so awesome in concert! they make a memorable show!
i dont think its sad in particular, its a song that is simply stating some truths that we need to "realize". aka death is part of life and everyone dies, its nothing to be sad about it just happens to us all and we need to accept it in our minds, there is nothing sad at all about it.
Not a big Lips fan but recalling this performance still gives me chills. I just realized when i saw this someone keept yelling yuppy middle class white trash throughout the whole song
haha jam on the river '08 lips had like 5 fully naked chicks on stage, wayne ran around the crowd in a bubble in the beginning and was shooting off confeti guns the entire time it was an insane trip.. i mean show
it depends on the song.... sometimes guitars sometimes keys ,backward cymbals, shakers tambs..etc..a wee bit o backups vox ,maybe...and yes all of waynes instruments r props...but it does not matter...most of it is live
DO you realize that everyone you know someday will die? So instead of saying all of your goodbyes let them know you realize that life goes fast its hard to make the good things last you realize the sun doesn't go down its just and illusion caused by the world spinning round.
gosh...they were so amazing early 2000's....

i agree. so god damn depressing, but in my opinion also their best song.

to me it's the opposite of depressing, it makes me realize how precious the people close to me is, and that all that matters is showing it to them
