  • gosh...they were so amazing early 2000's....

  • woah, i can't belive this exists... this particular show really did change my life, we even saw wayne and steve walking around in the woods later that night

  • just want 2 b here. this song feels good

  • watch documentary on hulu - must see

  • So is Wayne really playing that guitar? I'm kind of confused as to what it's used for.

  • @FlaminFingaz

    its for popping balloons

  • great lennon lift and well used too, great tune..

  • that drumset is hilarious.

  • kankerslecht

  • this is Oklahoma's state rock song

  • Yes, it really is Oklahoma's state rock song. (All of the guys are from OK.) The song was written by Wayne Coyne while one of his bandmates was having a very tough time kicking his heroin habit and Wayne was still experiencing the grief of his own father's death.

I love this song AND the way it is performed. It perfectly captures the realization we all experience as we age---and , hopefully, the appreciation we gain for our own lives and those of others.

  • What do you realise when you age? I am only 17 so I know sweet fuck all.

  • This video is hard to understand. They look like a fun concert, but the singers seemed to have a hard time hitting their notes. Not that impressed, but if I was invited to a concert, I'd probably go, because it looks like fun.

  • his voice is supposed to be like that

    listen to the records

he took on a vocal style like neil young

it sounds nice to me, very soothing

  • beautiful

  • I remember seeing them in concert when they opened up for RHCP. I didn't think I would like them but they are so so awesome in concert! they make a memorable show!

  • to rhyanrossi---

i dont think its sad in particular, its a song that is simply stating some truths that we need to "realize". aka death is part of life and everyone dies, its nothing to be sad about it just happens to us all and we need to accept it in our minds, there is nothing sad at all about it.

all in all though, yes, this song rocks !

  • this song is so fucking sad, but GOD it's GREAT!

  • i agree. so god damn depressing, but in my opinion also their best song.

  • to me it's the opposite of depressing, it makes me realize how precious the people close to me is, and that all that matters is showing it to them

  • Did you know that this is the new state song of Oklahoma? It was in LIFE magazine!!!!!!!!!!

  • wat, really? lol

  • Not a big Lips fan but recalling this performance still gives me chills. I just realized when i saw this someone keept yelling yuppy middle class white trash throughout the whole song

  • I Want to see them live so BAD!!!!

  • this was a great show the festival was soooo good!

  • I was there and it fucking rocked!!! Best show ever!! :)

  • haha jam on the river '08 lips had like 5 fully naked chicks on stage, wayne ran around the crowd in a bubble in the beginning and was shooting off confeti guns the entire time it was an insane trip.. i mean show

  • lol, most of my trips... i mean concerts are in sane

  • @rrronniiee DUDE the exact same thing happened at virgin fest in calgary. it was pretty much the most awesome thing ever

  • looks like fun

  • I was about 10 feet from the stage in the crowd.. amazing show. Too bad Berkfest is no longer. Good times

  • some of the lips shows are prerecorded.. does anybody know how much... is it just wayne's instrument parts that arent live???

  • it depends on the song.... sometimes guitars sometimes keys ,backward cymbals, shakers tambs..etc..a wee bit o backups vox ,maybe...and yes all of waynes instruments r props...but it does not matter...most of it is live

  • Awesome concert video! I wish I was there. :)

  • Great footage! I bet that was so much fun too. Did u get to dress in costume too? Wiggle Puppy delivers again! Can't wait to see more

  • sooo good. also naked 30 foot tall woman haha

  • DO NOT SNORT YOUR OWN BRAIN

  • I'm worried now.

  • Great camera work!!!!

  • Awesome! What a great song! Nice footage.

  • DO you realize that everyone you know someday will die? So instead of saying all of your goodbyes let them know you realize that life goes fast its hard to make the good things last you realize the sun doesn't go down its just and illusion caused by the world spinning round.

  • wow great shots! Especially love the ones behind wayne looking out at the crowd. Nice camera work on the angels too.

  • awesome and magical

  • ahh the memories - berkfest 2003 - good times

  • The Flaming Lips looked messed up on stage! I love it.
