Just so all of you tourist know the truth, The Crown Jewels on display in the Tower of London are fakes. All of them. The real Jewels are kept in a vault in the Bank of England, next door to our (now somewhat depleted, thanks Gordon) Gold reserves.

I can verify this, as I have seen them for myself, having visited the BoE a couple of years ago.

There is no way these Jewels will been seen by the Public. They are priceless and thus impossible to insure or replace if they were ever stolen.

@drizzlyday10 that is so untrue!!! You need to do some research and you will find that they are the real Crown Jewels. They used to be kept in a different part of the tower (underground) and could be seen by tourists, but they were moved to different place in the tower a few years ago and they can still be seen in all there glory. If they were not the real thing it would be false advertising and they would be sued if what you said was true.

my experience of the tower was a good one !! but could of been much better !!

they started closing things down way before the place actually closed !!

i was expecting something much more !!

HM Tower of London is one of the most beautiful, yet likely the most formidable places in the world. THIS is how prisons should be built today--to send chills down your spine at the sound of the wrought Iron gates closing and the dim light hitting the cold stone..a place that will make any criminal severely regret his crime ;)
