You were so lucky to work for AO with all those nice long layovers in such interesting places. I didn't start flying until after the airline's demise but if I could reverse time I definitely would have wanted to be part of it. Are there photos floating about of your trips away?
Thanks for the comment my fellow flying buddy. I posted this video ages ago, it was MUCH better to watch before they disabled the audio track!
Have just been watching the videos you have posted of your time with Qatar and Jetstar. Fantastic videos btw, well done! Even though I haven't flown to those destinations (Qatar), your photos brought back so many happy memories of when I first started flying.
I would love to swap stories with u. If u want to get in touch, let me know.
Qantas always owned Australian Airlines (subsidiary). Jetstar was and is also a subsidiary of Qantas. Qantas decided to dump Australian Airlines (a full-service all-economy cabin) and re-assign the routes to Jetstar (pay-as-you go low-cost-carrier).
@ahardyau Thanks 'ahardyau', you provided a good summary of what happened all those years ago. Fortunately for us, Qantas did not dump ex AO crew when the airline was disbanded (an unusually compassionate move on Qantas' part). Instead we were offered full time jobs with Qantas Ltd, as domestic flight attendants. Truth is, we were some of the last employees to come into Qantas Ltd before QD and QCCA were born. Thanks again for your post.
