  • nice vid :-) .

  • I say after the 80's the railways died. All the good stock went away and part of the railways died too.

  • Great photos. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

  • Shame the APT was never a success!!

  • @MC2251 Yes very true, ahead of its time I think

  • The map at the start is not in 1982, as NSE was formed in '87.

  • @456013matt Yep, just in to show the locations

  • @mikesndbs still later that 82 though as the 50 in NSE proves, nice vid all the same.

  • Nicely edited!

  • @banjokitten Thanks

  • the class 313 1 cud be not in 1982

  • Nice shots, and I see the unique 33012 kicks of the sequence! Brings back good memories for me as a kid going round the London stations. Rail blue all the way!

  • awesome job!!! brings back memories of how the railways should be!!!! loco's with character , not endless mu's thanx for posting

  • some great pics there, takes me back to the days when london was so exciting to visit and so much veriety. not so good these days unless you like to see units all the time. 5*

  • Thanks very much

  • The 50 in the 1st version of NSE livery at waterloo. And i spotted a couple more that cant have been in 82. The a couple of the Paddington shots with the line up of HST's, the middle powercar is in the Intercity executive livery, which 1st appeared in 84.

  • Hi, well done, any more? ;-)

  • 5/5 nice to see the good old days very good video.

  • Thanks for cool video! XD

I visited London few months ago, and I can see how the Charing cross station changed from 80s. Amazing video! and keep making old memorative train videos. =)

  • Hey thanks, this is just one in a series I made, check my play lists for more

  • Great archives of London train stations and trains. Charing Cross and Liverpool Street are two of my favourites. Some of these trains, I have actually boarded on them in my younger days. What does the APT stand for? Soul II Soul's 1989 hit 'Back To Life is twenty years old and is one of my favourite tracks.

  • Hey thanks for the nice comments!

There are a number of other train videos on my channel you may like.

APT stands for Advanced Passenger Train.

  • The Heday of the APT, im sure back then people thought that there would be no such things as Pendilinos and no loco hauled services

  • Thanks! yes indeed I never could have imagined that the railway would be so sterile as it is these days. Very sad.

  • it was probably 1981then as it was withdrawn for a while until the 1984 (attempted) Euston - Man Pic passeger run, as far as I know.

  • I expect that's it then LOL interesting, had me digging out the old albums to check hahahah

  • My gosh I can't beleive how different Liverpool St looked just 10 years before I first went through there!! Times don't half change! Also There are 3 pics in this video that were taken after 1986! HAH!

  • Hi, thanks for the comments and glad you enjoyed it :-) Yes, Liverpool Street was wonderful back then, wish I had a video camera that would have been very nice. Ok, three! photos you say.

Can you put the times of these photos in the comments please? use this format

    2:24 (Charing Cross)

  • 1:48 Euston - The APT appears to be in passenger service so this must have been in 1984.

3:46 Kings Cross - The electrification on the ECML began in 1987 I think.

5:35 - NSE livery was introduced in 1986

  • Hi, thanks, the class 50 was indeed 1986.

I am really puzzled now about the other two as I only went twice LOL The APT was not in service that day but on a test run.

I will check my albums again but this should be 1982. Thanks

  • Awsome vid, 5*! Great music a pics.

  • LOL I know what you mean, mind I think that when I see Deltics and the prototypes not to mention the steam era!

  • takes me back nice one
