  • is it a cort dobro???

  • Damn. that be music to my ears

  • The most perfect sound in all music -the slide guitar!

  • is it a Regal RD-40...? looks like mine... :-) ...excellent... love your playing and your tone...

  • How do you do that? Ive tried everything I can't get that sound.

  • Love the sound of this guitar!

  • Nice jam keep on slidin'!!

  • AWESOME

  • Can you state that this is Slow Blues? (I'm new in the Blues scene)

  • help me im thick whats that thing on your finger is it something for guitar or did your finger fall off? i dont meen to offend you in any way :(

    m

  • @BenMichaelHagan Haha, it's a sliding tube, you can't play this type of music without it. They're usually made of glass or metal!

  • Which strings do you have?

    Elixir?

  • Wow... this is amazing. I wish I can play like that. I'm not too much of a blues person, more of a rock person but i'm starting to become really interested in slide guitar. Can you please check out my slide guitar improvisation and give me some tips?

  • i love this man, great job- having a beer- and this just topped off the night!

  • Do you recommend the Hound Dog Dobro? I want a round neck reso around 500 bucks (300 euros)

  • Beautiful sound from your steel guitar and beautiful improvising.

Open D is a favourite of mine though I definitely need to pick myself up a slide.

  • There are a lot of makes for under $500. Just stay away from the epiphone biscuit one. The reason I say this is because you can't put a 16 gauge string on it, it's built to light.

Regal has a few for under $500.

I always put a reso string on mine though so I can play hard. Regular guitar strings just sound to weak.

  • @al0102030405 A great guitar brand is Republic Guitars. I have a miniolian biscuit bridge dobro and it's great. Less than $500 also. They are made right in Texas plus! BTW great improvision. what are you using for a slide? I suggest a copper pipe.

  • what slide guitar do you recommend for under 500 dollars?

  • do you recomend round or sqaure neck, is there a sound difference?

  • It's really a matter of preference I guess. I find it much easier to play a round neck than a squareneck. I like a slide rather than a bar.

Though I am trying to learn on a squareneck as well.

  • whats your tuning for this improv

  • It's open D.

  • Wow!

Great stuff! I loved the grating just before the slide! Inspiring stuff! thanks!

  • Glad you like it, thanks for the comment.

  • beautifully done it made my hair stand up brother keep playing !!!!!

  • Thanks.

  • 1-5-4 is just your three chords in whatever key you are playing. In this case it would be as follows.

The D would be the 1 chord, the G the 5, and the A the 4 chord.

  • Thanks for commenting. You can play this kind of music. Learn the basic slide technique, plus your 1-5-4 and your right where I've been stuck for 20 years.

  • i know nothing of theory but i love slide guitar... can you explain what 1-5-4 is?

  • They are just a universal way of referring to the root notes of your key. Here his overall key is in D (that is named the 1 chord). Then the numbers go up with the notes in the scale. D + 5 (D, E, F, G, A) = A. D + 4 (D, E, F, G) = G. Relating three chords in a 1-5-4 manner is really bluesy. I hope this helps at least a little.

  • Good explanation. better than I ever could have explained it. But then again, I don't know any theory.

  • i love this video. this is the kind of music i wish i could play. your awesome!

  • yoy're welcome!!!

  • hi sir, you bring an amazing good impro. on that slide-dobro, keep up the good music, i liked it verry mush, greetings from kurt-belgium!!!

  • Thank You, I'm happy you liked it.

  • Very nice playing ! Good dobro tone too !

  • That's a big compliment coming from you, you have great tone. Hope I can be as good as you on a squareneck.

  • Great playing, I have a very similiar dobro guitar here but I can't play that good (I'm a piano player by the way, but I do quite well with guitars, except with the slide thing, I want to be able to play like that).

    Congrats, you're very good.

  • Thank You very much for your kind comments. I just know the 1-5-4 and a few places to riff around in plus on the 1 and the 5 and around the 4. Once you get that down you sound like you know what you're doing, though I don't really. I keep practicing though in the hopes I will get really good.

  • Hey, thank you.

  • Nice tone! Good job.
