To be honest, I feel they messed up on the show when J.J stopped working on it, I might be wrong, but I think he only helped with the first two seasons, and if you look at the over all look of the first season it seemed more epic and "Vast" , Then the other seasons followed and it almost seemed like they we're working on a small box set, Yes there were a few vast moments but the look of the first season was perfect.
Can't we all just get along? LOL! The show was great entertainment. I watched, I liked and I moved on. It's a show for crying out loud. Unless you see the white flash, you can't go back and change it. So accept it.

there were answers to A LOT of questions, you just have to go back and rewatch early episodes and infer things on your own. It would’ve been stupid if at the end Ben was just like “Okay, so here’s everything you should know”
seasons 1, 4, and 5 were my favorite. season 2 was good but it was too long and jack’s acting in the first few episodes sucked. most of season 6 sucked but the finale was beautiful.
I'm glad I was never a follower of Lost when it was on...I saw it all after the fact. I LOVED the first five seasons and some of season 6...the end SO soured the entire show me, however, that I NEVER want to watch it again. How did that writer's meeting go?..."Well, we got a bunch of these awesome, interesting questions we've raised over 5 years...what the hell are we gonna do?...A, screw it, let's just toss something together about heaven or purgatory or something...almost worked for Magnum."
The biggest mystery in my mind is that cabin, like I can believe that the smoke dude used it to trick the others into thinking he was Jacob (Particularly Mikhail) but why was there a ring of ash around it? How did it get broken? Why did it keep moving? Who was the guy's eye Hurley saw at the window? Some kind of really big hint would be good enough, come on!

6 seasons, only 2 have strong sci fi elements (but those 2 have fantasy elements too), the other 4 seasons not have enough sci fi to be considered sci fi.

The show connects with people with regret, then thrown in a situation like that, have to live with their past, possibly make a new future. It made them feel important, something many people want. Many of the characters were caught up in bad quality of life and in the end it made all of it almost worth it (purgatory endind) I like how they show the true nature of people, even in different realitys

My only problem is that some of the scenes in Lost were a total waste of time if the questions presented in them weren't even answered later. What was the purpose of Walt's abilities and why did the Others want him? etc. I could go on, but suffice it to say, some aspects of Lost were a waste of time if he just wanted to focus on the characters, their relationships, and the human condition.

@DarkDevil1251 ok. when season 6 starts out it creates a red herring playing on the idea that the jughead bomb created an alternate universe but it didn't. when jack dies in the last scene that's when he moves on into that meta-physical world of purgatory which is when season 6 opens with the flash sideways time-line. all of the characters go to that world after they die but time does not apply to there. they all needed to find each other in the after life to "move on" so to speak.

Des traveled there when Widmore forced him to be exposed to electromagnetism in solenoid coil chamber room. There was no purgatory whatsoever. The key figure of the show was Desmond, he was the only one with the ability to travel through time-space continuum, and, most importantly, *return back. I doubt travelling to purgatory and back to life makes sense.

To be honest, I feel they messed up on the show when J.J stopped working on it, I might be wrong, but I think he only helped with the first two seasons, and if you look at the over all look of the first season it seemed more epic and "Vast" , Then the other seasons followed and it almost seemed like they we're working on a small box set, Yes there were a few vast moments but the look of the first season was perfect.

Everything was great about the show. The endings could have been better for the plots, and some of the unanswered questions

@OpeningSalvoe If you didn't like the show then that is understandable. You never can please anyone these days. I liked the mystery of the show and trying to figure out what the heck was going on. What I liked the most about the show, that everyone of the main people, like the numbered people and clueless people along them, all felt like their life was empty, wish things were different, felt and wanted to be special. But in our life these days many people feel like something isn't right.(Pt.1)

@OpeningSalvoe Lost was about redemption, it was about this characters that were unable to move on in their lifes because they were lost , it was about the madurity process of the human beign; similar to what you can see in Evangelion.
That was the main theme in all the six seasons, in fact the flash sideways is some kind of microcosmos of this.
That´s what lost was about.

@OpeningSalvoe So those are reasons why I liked the show, may not mean much to you but people are different and have varied appreciations. You don't have to like the show, but others have the right to take what they like from it. If coming here just to fuck with people who like Lost is just your thing you do on your free time then go ahead, but maybe you should calm down a little bit before you blow a fuse. I didn't wait every week to watch it I watched it all during the last season on the net

@OpeningSalvoe(Pt.2) Many aren't clear why they are here in the show and people in real life. The show connects with people with regret, then thrown in a situation like that, have to live with their past, possibly make a new future. It made them feel important, something many people want. Many of the characters were caught up in bad quality of life and in the end it made all of it almost worth it (purgatory endind) I like how they show the true nature of people, even in different realitys

I didn't watch some episodes in order and I was wanting to see what people were so frustrated about and I really don't see the big deal. I understand though no matter what anyone does or says, someone, somewhere is going to shit their diaper about it. I dont fit into your tidy classifications of a fanboy/retard

My only problem is that some of the scenes in Lost were a total waste of time if the questions presented in them weren't even answered later. For example, why did the smoke monster not kill Eko during the first meeting? What was the purpose of Walt's abilities and why did the Others want him? etc. I could go on, but suffice it to say, some aspects of Lost were a waste of time if he just wanted to focus on the characters, their relationships, and the human condition.

@kirby28645 True, they could've explained things clearer instead of wasting time on stupid scenes, but to answer your questions: the others wanted walt because just like how they took the kids from the tail section (to give him a better life) but then later found out that he was special. The smoke monster didn't kill Eko because as the man in black, he decides if he is worthy of living or not. (ben went to see the monster in season 6 to see if he was still worthy) hope that helps!

@DarkDevil1251 ok. when season 6 starts out it creates a red herring playing on the idea that the jughead bomb created an alternate universe but it didn't. when jack dies in the last scene that's when he moves on into that meta-physical world of purgatory which is when season 6 opens with the flash sideways time-line. all of the characters go to that world after they die but time does not apply to there. they all needed to find each other in the after life to "move on" so to speak.

@kiddo215 Most of the Lost viewers, and i'm afraid you as well, got the flash-sideways wrong. The jughead *did create an alternate universe. Des traveled there when Widmore forced him to be exposed to electromagnetism in solenoid coil chamber room. There was no purgatory whatsoever. The key figure of the show was Desmond, he was the only one with the ability to travel through time-space continuum, and, most importantly, *return back. I doubt travelling to purgatory and back to life makes sense.

@ivaerak @ivaerak sounds like a very well thought out theory and definitely the desmond angle is mostly true but i doubt very much it was an "alternate universe/reality" when the writers of the show said it definitely wasn't. i also doubt it was possibly purgatory neither since nobody from the show called it that. christian and the others that were aware just referred to it as "here", "this place", etc.

And we don’t use the phrase “alternate reality,” because to call one of them an “alternate reality” is to infer that one of them isn’t real, or one of them is real and the other is the alternate to being real.

@kiddo215 I read about producers dismissing any notion of purgatory theory, but i completely overlooked this Lindelof's interview, so this is completely new information to me. I guess my point of view is greatly influenced by the back to the future trilogy, where two, or even unlimited number of alternate realities can coexist, depending of the choices and changes one makes in the past timeline. Not to mention the influence of theory of quantum mechanics. Now i need to rethink everything over

@ivaerak Wrong dude, Desmond didnt "Travel" to purgatory he just did what he did in season 3, he saw a vision of his future, a future after he died. THe flashsideways WAS purgatory, just look at the facts.

@DarkDevil1251 There are two endings, the ending of the show, and the ending of the flash sideways extra series that was the season 6 special idea.
For the main ending, the smoke monster dies, the light becomes pure again, the universe is saved, jack dies, the rest fly off in the plane, Hurley, Ben and Richard are left to protect the island.
The Flash Sideways specific to season 6 ending, is, a transition to the next world, the next "life", cause by exposure to island's electromagnetism.
