Does anyone know where or how the Star Trek Symbol ( the upside down check mark) originated? It was on the original Star Trek & The Nerxt Generation because of the name Enterprise. I noticed vriations every time someone from a different ship or command appears. Was it Gene Roddenbury or someone else & why.

What´s so diificult about destroying the mines. I know they have replicators which duplicates them, but why destroy them one by one. Why not many at once, with explosions just as from torpedoes?

@VitoPossilipo the mines are probably cloaked using the Federation's phase cloaking technology.

that means as long as they're cloaked they can't be touched by any conventional weapons because all matter and energy pass through them with no effect.

@VitoPossilipo regular cloaks no. but we saw in one TNG episode that the Federation secretly developed a "phase cloak" which alters the phase of the object being cloaked so it can pass though normal matter and energy.

such an object would be both undetectable and invulnerable.

that's probably what they used for this mine field that's why the Dominion was not able to detonate these mines until they deactivated the cloak first

Actors from different countries and even within the US have accents that can throw us off on word pronunciations. We all know she said "solids". Hell...even in our own country we can't spell....we have become too dependent on Spell-Check. But I love this country just as it is.

The female changeling states at some point that "Odo is more important than the entire Alpha Quadrant itself". She clearly knew at the end of this segment that Odo was not on the Dominion side...she knew what he might do...but she wanted to placate him.

This is the point that Dr Bashire made during the episode where he was assigned to baby-sit other genetically engineered creeps.

That was a good one...does anyone remember the name of that episode?

Marc Alaimo (Dukat) was obsessed with Kira's charactor and wanted their charactors to hook up, but Nana Visitor and the producers thought it would be unrealistic considering Kira's position in the occupation and how much she hated Cardassians. So they put him and Kira's mother together instead in the episode "Wrongs Darker than Death or Night."
