@briansmobile1 well ive worked on trying to take off the fan clutch well we ordered the tools for it it broke the pully holder and wrench so now im just gonna take out the radiator and get a new fan and clutch because that damn nut wont come off its be hard to do because its been cold out
@oya691 You can often remove the water pump with the fan on it. Then take it to a shop with a torch and heat it to have them remove it while it's hot. I've done that a few times, but in shop.
@oya691 hey srry about so many messages but heres an update i finaly got the raditor out and i got the water pump on with the fan and fan clutch still on im so happy now when i go back to school on tuesday im gona take the water pump in and use the torch and vise to get the fan and clutch of to save them
@briansmobile1 well i cant the fan shroud was in the way i started to take off all the hoses from the rad so i could take it out so i have room to take the fan shroud out so i can get to water pump and we already bought the fan and clutch plus my uncle has new hoses he wanted put on so 2 birds 1 stone
Brain -- THANK YOU! We replaced the water pump on my son's '96 Ram and it went exactly as you have described in this video. We especially appreciated your advice on how to remove the fan/fan clutch. We used a large screwdriver instead of a pry bar, and ended up putting a pipe wrench on the fan after we discovered our crescent wrench wasn't up to the task. Everything else went EXACTLY as you described. Many thanks for this great video!
Great video dude! Was absolutely perfect for my 98 Durango! That pry bar behind the pulley is just what the doc ordered! Thanks so much and keep up the great work!
GREAT vidio. I have a 2001 Dodge Dakoa sport v6 w/ 113,000 miles. My water pump broke. To where the fan bounces LOL. This vidio has been the only information that i could find on the internet sofar. I am glad to see how it is done so i can decide if i want to do it myself or have someone do it. THANK YOU...Paula I gave you a like. I dont know why someone would dislike this vidio. Must be idiots.
great video man, ive been working on cars for 7 years, and have done almost everythg to a vehicle and ive been watching ur vids for references so thks for not making (virgin mechanics). feel like idiots u make it simple and plain and very logically....
@2caliper Glad you "like" them. I try to make them easier to follow than the Haynes or Chilton manuals because I always thought they were too vague and general.
After watching it this afternoon, I was able to go out and change the water pump on my 2000 Dodge Dakota pickup truck. I am not a mechanic and know very little about car repairs, but you video was able to successfully guide me thru the replacement. My truck no longer makes expensive growling noises any more. My wife is proud of me for saving us some money on a repair, and even my father in law is somewhat impressed with me. THANK YOU!
I made my own fan clutch removal tool's out of leaf spring's and welded some cheap air chisel's on the end. Just bump that trigger and it is loose every time. And never broke em yet. If you want any detail's just PM me. Good video once again!

@rsimsyfsa Perfectly normal... but a reminder to use a bit of sealant on the new one- it's cheap insurance against leaks.
