I'm so tardy for the party, but I'm fairly new to learning songs, is it possible to provide a chord diagram, rather than the pattern, already suggested? I apologize if it is a lot to ask, just want to make sure that I am doing this right.
@new906 I think the cords he uses hear are dead on, but I do think that on the video Chris tunes the low E to and F. Try that, It might sound better. Better yet tune the Hi E the same.
@1991esmee you're actually not supposed to strum the low E string, therefore he wrapped his thumb around so it's muted. you don't actually have to use your thumb. just don't strum that low E string.
Awesome vid, i tried the half step down tuning with 1st string to a B and the standard tuning with 1st string to an F and i think the latter sounds the most legit. But taking nothin away, ur awesome dude...tried so hard to find a vid to match the chords chris martin does in his acoustic recording. nice work!
is that a yammaha ,you can usually tell a yammaha by the way the scratch plate touches the neck....awesome guitars for the price of them ..awesome cover aswell mate
@CrosbyHalak yeah but the tuning doesent have to be a half step down .if you want to jam with this vid it does but to jam with the coldplay acoustic version you need to keep it in standard tuning
@CrosbyHalak see the DM chord at the 12th and 10th fret Dm (012 12 10 10 0)its easier for me to do it at the 5th and 6th fret(Dm(0 0 6 6 5 0)just a Dm without the barre finger then go to the Bb i find that easier check my vid if you want to learn it and its in standard tuning ...good luck
@teddiechang yeah it says in the description to tune the thinnest string(e) to a c but its an F you tune the 1st string to hold in the 1st fret of the 6th and then thats the sound you want on the open 1st ,if you know what i mean...but thinnest string to an F anf you should get it
you are the only guy SERIOUSLY the only guy who has posted a version similar to the one million view version of chris martin playing it acousticly. Thank you sooo much. I'm so tired of so many people posting the capo 3rd fret version.
Just a reminder to all attempting this: The high 'E' string is tuned down to C. I think that's what's stumped alot of people on the internet trying to play this song on their accoustics. Tune down your E strings people!
Dear Rahilium, i've sent the las 4 hours trying to tune my guitar to play this tune, i have video palying this thack but only you after chris Martin played it properly... Could you you please please just drop me a message whenever you have a min and let me know how to toune it, I've already practised the chords i just need the right tuning :) Thank you in advance, god bless, Marcos Pires
Hey Rahilium... I tuned my guitar down a half step and im playing the same chords as you but it still sounds like my guitar strings are in a cat fight with each other. (Im a guitar newb) Half step means Eb Ab Db Gb Bb eb correct?
Right, but the last string (High eb) is actually tuned down to B, the first fret of the 5th string. So if you play the first fret of the 5th string and the 6th string open, they should sound exactly the same. Then try playing it, it should sound exactly alike my tuning.
ur awesome ur not a narcicist bitch like other singers

I just go ahead and tune both E's to a F. It gives it more of a bassy sound. It makes it easier to play as well...
