  • They're now a band called "Hawkboy". They release their first album "King Folly" this month. Go check it out on Facebook.

  • He's got a great voice!

  • I love this, I really do. But this song feels empty without the amazing bass lines.

  • @alexDoom2 Totally agree, yo.

  • The "Come Now Sleep" album is easily my favorite of all time.

  • as cities burn are back. Hawkboy, touring with emery this spring. so glad they are back to making music

  • @UrbanAzn717

yeah dood, they are coming to jacksonville too!!! im stoked

  • I fear we became to petty

  • All of there albums in my opinion are equally great but Son i loved you at your darkest easily has some of the best lyrics.

  • Hey does anyone know what kind of amp cody is playing on? It looks like some kind of fender combo but it could be some kind of half stack and i just can't find the head.

  • @awm9290 This one looks like a Fender Hot Rod deville 410, but he normally records and plays with a Fender Blues Deville 410 AMAZING amp

  • I don't know if these guys know how many they have touched. They are awesome.

  • i miss as cities burn

  • I wish they would have used this drum beat on the real album.

  • @JHaslip They didn't?!?! Its pretty similar man!!! Aaron just added to Josh's simplicity! But the beat is pretty close... listen to it again, haha!

  • @rushour144 I just wanted it to completely stay like this, but it's still great!

  • @JHaslip I get what you are saying, but its the guitar that makes this version so good. Aaron basically played what Josh did here, but the guitars in this version are a lot more raw sounding. The one problem with HOHW was the jams and music breaks from CNS were totally missing. The songs were way to short, and where there was passion, the thoughts ended way too fast! So much more could have gone into that album, but I think Cody was just done with ACB and wanted to put something out.

  • @rushour144 Exactly, I heard they were forced to put out a third CD because of their contract, but anyway, that's what I thought the finished version was missing, the raw, emotional guitar playing from Cody. Come Now Sleep was brilliant and Son I Loved You At Your Darkest was full of raw, hard guitar playing, but kept a very tight and emotional grip on the listener.

  • @JHaslip Yea, they were. Come Now Sleep is easily my favorite album of all time, but I think Son, I Loved You is almost just as good, in a different light. Its the best post hardcore album for sure. Their love for music is made so evident... when not forced haha!

  • @rushour144 And even when forced, for that matter!!!

  • i missss them

  • true true true! we are all made 2 pretty

  • AMAZING =p

  • i love old and new stuff.this is only "mellow" stuff i like., its just sooooo good.

  • i like your name, it's freakin beast.

  • thanks brahh

  • i know that some stopped listening after "Son, I loved you..." because they became less hardcore after that. but, seriously, the last two albums are so superior to anything on it! it kills me to know that they're done for good, but what they gave us on Come Now Sleep & Hell Or High Water is more amazing than what most bands will do in their entire career

  • i was so sad when they announced their breakup. At least though cody said he's starting a new band so i'm still waiting.

  • hello high water

  • i totally agree with you!

  • agree 100% man. probably my all time favorite two albums

  • @haruspez0820 Whooaaa what!? THey brok up?!

  • i was there.

  • what guitar effect is he using?

  • a tremelo

    and a slight delay

all over the fender overdrive and reverb

    just a note to everyone

he's not playing through the orange

he's playing through the lil fender amp on the right of the drum set :]

  • umm. drum beat really isn't too hard.. it's different though.

you should be able to pick it up just by hearing it though..

    as cities burn.. wooooo.

i already want a new album

  • they are done bro. and this time, never coming back

  • at first i was a little dissapointed with this cd...but thats because i was stuck on old as cities. now, i think this cd is just as dear to me as the other two. they all have their own special feeling. long live as cities burn. hope this band continues to give us great music. way to go cody!

  • Well.. we'll see what happens. They haven't been on tour since the release of Hell of High Water. That's not a good sign. And, they haven't signed into their Myspace in over a month..

  • yeah, its sad, alot of the old fans dont seem to really care about what this band is doing anymore. just because they are not hardcore anymore doesnt mean that they arent still good. you can tell the riffs and stuff are still competely still ACB.

  • ya the drum beat is harder then it sounds but it aint that hard do the beat then the high hat

  • that fricken drum beat messed with me...i finally can play it for half of the song...sounds simple? its not.

  • this epic! codys voice/guitar/drums is pretty bad ass itself. this is deff my fav song off the new album.

  • its my favorite song aswell. i love it

  • ya man the album leaked...its amazing

  • DOES ANYONE HAVE AUDIO FOR THIS? I'd love an mp3

  • Their new album comes out on 4/21/09. This song is on it. It should be available on iTunes.

  • if theres one thing bigger then my head...

thats the distance ive been mislead..

  • The amps belong to Life in Your Way, they played a show w/ LIYW on their last tour in Nashville with The Glorious Unseen and Once Nothing. One of the best shows i've ever been to.

  • when did they play with life in your way?!?!? if im not mistaken that's what the bass drum is saying. my 2 favorites and i missed it... darn

  • i would say they're one of the best bands ever.

  • i love the lights

  • can something put the lyrics please?

    thanx ;)

  • does anyone know what amps/pedals he uses?

  • well, someone appears to be using a shitload of orange cabs...not sure if he's in on that or not.

  • he is using a fender deville here.

  • He actually used two Fender DeVille's, one on his left and one up next to the drummer on his right. It was so awesome. I am standing directly in front of him. :)

  • I wouldn't really say Christian.

They do it for the Christian god and that's who they love and worship, but they don't preach about it really.

It's just about higher powers in general I think.

  • Source?

  • tooth and nail announced it on their podcast.

  • which album is this from...I love thsi song!

  • Comment removed

  • thought he said Someday we might come down

    but whos to really say

  • Caught us in a stare we cant break

I think we were made too pretty, ya

So much, that we dont see it, we dont see it

  • And if theres one thing bigger than my head Thats the distance up in this limb Cause I think we were made to pretty You caught me in a stare I can not break We know nothing changes too slowly Cause someday I wanna come down Oh watch, Im gonna come down I think we were made too pretty We dont need a God we dont see in ourselves Dont see were in here We dont need a God we dont see in ourselves Dont see were in here Cause I think we were made to pretty
  • I'd say it's "And if there's one thing bigger than my head, that's the distance I've been mislead".

  • my favorite lyric

  • Not sure about the first line but I'm pretty sure the rest of the lyrics are......

As if you were made after we saw our own faces and knew we were Gods, enough

Cause I think we were made too pretty

They caught us in a stare we can not break

We know nothing changes too slowly

    Someday we might come down

    If its really safe

    We are your body

Howd a pretty man get so ugly?

Howd he get all these spaces between each limb?

  • codys the best muscian right now!

    no matter who hes with..

whats a good forum page for acb???

  • it looks like the drummer from life in your way, considering that the bass drum has "Life Your" on it, i can't see the rest, if it's as cities burn and Life in your way uniting in a way, this will turn out to be an outstanding album

  • No, Life in Your Way let him use their drums.

  • His name is Josh Dillard. He used to play drums for the band The Radio Fix.

  • I will not lie. I will not say how.

I have listened to the entire new albume uncut and unmixed. This is my favorite album thus far.

It's going to sound so fucking badass when it gets finalized.

"they fixed your brain when you were young"

  • What is the new album called?

  • Kinda sounds like he said "we don't need a God" at 2:37. Kinda odd considering the older music. Then again I'd have to read the full lyrics to understand.

  • He does say we don't need a god, but your right, in context it makes sense. "We don't need a god we don't see in ourselves" (at least that's what i heard).

Completely amazing, we aren't even Christians and that is an amazingly true statement. Can't wait for the new album. Beautiful.

  • Wow yes that is beautiful. And with music that matches how amazing that line is only shows that Cody is a musician with not only talent, but depth and emotion.

    Oh and uh thanks!

  • He says "We don't need a God (that) we don't see in ourselves" I hope that clears it up- nonetheless amazing.

  • i loveeee it...goooood stuff!!

  • first band who's songs have actually changed my life

  • man I give my kudos to cody for not giving up. him doing a gig with just drums is showing how humble he can be. Good job dude can't wait to see you and support.

  • i hope they dont put the full band in this song when they record the whole album.

    perfect like this.

  • As far as I know, it was those two guys who wrote the album, but the band is touring with it.

  • yep, thats right. its kinda sad to me, but its still amazing. They are the only ones recording.

  • how did u find that out?

  • The whole band wrote the album, but Cody and a guy named Tyler are the only two recording it.

  • sickk guitar

  • 09 fool

  • omg...this is awesome! i cant waitfor the new album.

  • Is it just him and a drummer?

  • Yeah, it's him and his friend

  • amazing song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG ... AMAZING!

  • wow.

  • holy shit.

  • chords and lyrics

  • Me thinks I do... just message me if you want my tab/chords thingie. :D

  • This is going to be a great song

  • why is he alone?

  • He lives in Chatanooga, so he wasn't that far away. Maybe everyone couldn't make it. I'm not sure.

  • love this song
