  • Iud came out when it stuck on my tampon

  • Not painful at all getting it out :)

  • I removed my Old copper IUD with a pair of tweezers there was a mild discomfort but nothing once it was fully removed

  • ive had my IUD for 2years but im wanting to get it removed does it hurt as much as it did geting put in?

  • i like how it says or any other suitable device.

  • You really need a medical degree for this? For shame... the only thing you need is good tools and any fool can do this...

  • i had my IUD removed bled for 1day heavy then spotted 2days after - my period was due the week after still nothing is this normal??? getting worried

  • @lisa100r Yes very normal,it takes a while for your body to get back to normal.

  • Sick shit.

  • @sandy4152005 i had the paraguard copperT for the full ten yrs with no problems at all i loved it. i removed my own and it did not hurt at all. i waited for my cycle and then removed it. only took me 5 mins if that. im not saying do it yourself but im sure it will be painless.

  • Oops, typos...anyway, no sedation needed, didn't even feel it put in, I'm sure that depends on the level of skill of the professional inserting it, do to my case, it had to be an MD. Like I said, felt like a pap. She asked me to cough, when I did, the room spun and as 8 sat up the Dr was scared and asked if I was OK, as I appeared pale and cold. They kept me there a half hour for observation, then was sent on my way after being treated. I could barely drive and walk/stand up straight due to the

  • Let me start sith a disclaimer, lol-as people tend to interpret things differently: Every woman/body/experience/tolerance of pain, relationships (commited or not),etc. ARE DIFFERENT! My personal opinion started off positive. Pain-free insertion and removal...felt like a routine pap smear. Didn't even know they offered sedation-it's not a major procedure, I wouldn't have requested it. GYN suggested this was the best and only choice for me, given my dangerous abnormal cycles....

  • It was painful ..the nurse was like have you ever had an abortion because thats what it feels like...well i never had an abortion or child but I dont think it was as painful as i imagine childbirth to be...oh and after all that pain ***IT DIDNT EVEN GET IN**** the nurse said im too small and to come back on my period it will help it go in...

-Ive been celibate for a year lol (Seriously though)

  • Omg! Now im soo scared of the removal!! When i got it it did hurt a bit but not as much, after reading u girls comments im soo scared! :(

  • I have had the IUD for 3 yrs now at first i had really bad Cramps like if i was in labor but they stopped after a while its very effective periods not to heavy nd begin to get lighter as the times passes by.. wHen inserted it didnt hurt much just like a pinch but im a lil worried about the removal..

  • It does hurt getting it in but not as bad getting it out.

  • Im sorry but who ever says this don't hurt at all is a loose hoe.

Honestly I am saying this not to scare anyone, but this was one of the most painful things next to child birth.

And 1 week later it still hurts.

and yes I had a child.

  • @moregoth3 What a pathetic, ignorant comment. Every woman's body is different, including the position of the cervix and the width of the cervical canal. A woman who doesn't experience much pain during this procedure is not a "loose hoe," as you so charmingly put it. People experience this procedure differently based on their body types. I would suggest you not make false statements as though you were an expert in the field, when you're so clearly not.

  • I just had mine removed today. My doctor didn't even warn me that it would hurt...he said it wouldn't!!! It felt like someone had stabbed my uterus!

  • I wouldn't advise to take it out yourself, but I know a few women do do it themselves.

  • @annetterobins what happened after the women you know took their IUD out? Did they bleed? Any thing serious?

  • it is safe to removed iud by myself?

  • it is safe to removed iud by myself?

  • oh watever.wen they put my paragaurd in it didnt hurt at all.nd idk wat the hell youguys are talkin bout gettin ur cervix dialated??wtf?ur suposed to get it put in wen ur on the rag cuz the cervix is alot softer.you guys need to get a diffrent doctor.i love my IUD but my stupid strings curl up to wer i cant feel them nd i start freakin out.lol.

  • omg, why people do this?

  • I saw another video on youtube that used "HOOK" removal with pinching the cervix and inserting a metal crap INTO it while pinching it with the metal tweezers.

If all you have to do is remove by pulling on strings, why is there a more medieval and sadistic and cruel method like the "hook" removal?!?!

  • I had the mirena inserted under sedation so I went totally unconscious for about 5 minutes. They put it in while I was knocked out, then I woke up! I cant believe how everyone gets it put in while they're awake! I read how incredibly painful it was, so decided to get sedated. I can highly recommend this. It was sore afterwards of course for about a week, but since then I love it and I can recommend it. I didnt have any side effects at all.

  • @lizdylanboykie Lucky you! I just had some ibuprofin before the paragard was inserted, and as they dialted me to put it in, I nearly passed out on the table it hurt so bad.

  • i have had my mirena for almost two years and having it removed.

i am happy that its done its job. but want to have another baby.. :) worried its going to hurt.

  • I went today to get a mirena fitted...they couldn't do it!!! I went threw alot of pain but as i haven't had children they said that they will have to put me under to insert it!!! I am getting it fitted because of my heavy irregular periods...i'm quite nervous about going and trying again to get it fitted...did anyone else experience alot of pain and difficulty??

  • ewww gross!

  • I had the paraguard. I absolutely loved it. The first few days after they put it in, you will have cramps and bleeding. The following months were perfect, I had no complications with mine whatsoever. I opted to remove it when it was time for baby number two. Once my daughter is born, I'll have another inserted. Paraguard is the copper one, it has no hormones and will not cause you to gain weight. Go for it!

  • HAd my mirena removed today, worked WONDERS AND MIRACLES for 5 years, I love it but I know every woman reacts differently to it, I would recomend it, but hope it works best for you!

  • Sorry ladies but i am one of the unlucky ones that has been so sick and in so much pain. Check online booklet sent to doc's and see all probs ppl talk about are in it but only the most problematic are in the booklet for patients. Why is that. Listen to your bodies ladies. Been in bed since Nov its now June. Found doc's book demanded they take out but missing. Now need specialist. I HATE IT Feel I need to warn others as i was not told about all these problems. BAD BAD BAD THING THIS IS.

  • I had paragard for a few months and my periods were so heavy I would have to use the most absorbent tamon every 2 hours and pads that were for over night, my periods lasted for 3 1/2 weeks at a time, with a 1 week break inbetween, with Mirena my periods are very very light, putting in and taking paragard out hurt more than inserting Mirena, but I like the whole light periods every 2 months, but now I am worried because everyone is talking about cyts how can you tell if you have them? Any signs?

  • @nolthria

You would get a lot of pain in the area where your ovaries are,can sometimes be very painful.

  • @nolthria

mine almost felt like contractions from having a baby. i had mirena for about 4 months and it gave me 11 of them. it actually would cause me to fall to my knees in pain randomly and they are very painful. i only had it for 4 months cause at the same time it fell out of place and was causing me to bleed during that entire time bout as heavy as you were describing but without a break. i couldn't even use tampons cause it hurt to much to take them out. i wouldn't recomend any iud at all

  • my girlfriend has this and she claims she's gonna take it out herself... yeah like i will allow that. she's had it for a week, and she's been crying non stop, she's been throwing up, having heat flashes, and getting light headed. she says the only time it doesn't hurt is when we're having relations.. but she thinks she's allergic to it or something, because she's smelly down there, and yellow puss is coming out, i wonder if it's infected. if you have any pointers, let me know, thanks.

  • @shaun124cle

If I was her I would get it out straight away.

  • @annetterobins she went to the doctors today, and they said she had a sist. and hey my last name is robins too, i wonder if we're related?

  • @shaun124cle

Mirena causes cyts,I got a lot of them when I had Mirena .I live in Australia,we might be related LOL.

  • @annetterobins lol we might be. and idk i feel bad because of how much pain she's in.

  • @shaun124cle

GO TO THE DOCTOR!!!!!!! Cmon use your head!

  • @jewals7 we did, and found out she has a cyst.

  • @shaun124cle

Glad to hear that you have found the problem. I wish you both all the best.

  • @jewals7 thank you. you too

  • I have to say I haven't ever seen anything good about the mirena, but I have had mine for almost 2 years, and I have no problems at all with it. Im scared now to keep it or even to get it removed. The only downfall to mine is that i have gained weight and I can't seem to lose it. But my husband likes it considering I was really skinny when we met.

  • @temptedflirt69 i gained about 45 pounds within 6 months of getting mine, i cant do anything it seems to get it back off. i wondered if it was the mirena :(

  • @kpflughaupt I have had mine for 2 years and I gained about 40 lbs too..I have tried everything and i can't get it off. :[

  • That doesn't look like any vagina I have ever seen!

  • After getting the mirena inserted I have had terrible side effects!!! My hair is falling out uncontroleably, severe pain and bleeding, mood swings, depression, discomfert durring intercorse, dryness durring intercorse which was never a problem before!, and my partner can always feel the strings... I can not wait to get this thing out!!! I've had it for 6 months and thought things would get better but they havnt... Everyone is different.... It just isn't for me!!!

  • No complaints!! i love my IUD im almost to the 4 year mark. No problems at all... i rarely get periods too thats a plus

  • I'm having mine removed on Friday. I have had terrible side effects from the hormones on this IUD. Hair loss, extreme fatigue no matter how much sleep, gall bladder issues, back pain, joint pain, mood swings, depression. This is absolutely awful and I can't wait to have it out. Worst choice I ever made, and what a waste of $450 dollars.

  • @umastar16 Can you tell me about the removal? I have had mine for almost 4 years, and I want it OUT. The insertion was miserable, I would never do it again. Was the removal easier or worse than the insertion?

  • @ndstjs22

    removal is painless.

  • I just got mine a couple days ago. I got very little cramping the first day but then took some pain pills and it quickly went away. I have not had intercourse with it yet since I am out of town and I have not seen my boyfriend. My only worry is that he or I will feel it during sex since my partnter is very very well endowed.

  • The pain is the reason I don't want to try this.

  • I have to say, I had a TERRIBLE experience with the Mirena IUD. The worst pain of my life, was the moment it was inserted. I bled, screamed, cried my eyes out, and couldn't get off the hospital bed for almost an hour. I was in intense pain for 2 weeks and still in pretty bad pain for a pain following. It's 4 months later now, and I'm scheduled to take it out. It is not for everyone. I'm also scared now to take it out after so much pain I went through having it inserted.

  • It is painless getting it out, nothing at all like getting it in.

  • @galina26

    @galina26

I had similar pains as you do, i was bleeding for 3 weeks. And after a couple of months a started to bleed for 3 months. To much pain. Today i removed it and i was really scared, i told the doctor that the first time was very painful. The doctor was very nice and explained everything he was doing while removing the mirena. And it really didn't hurt that much, imagine someone who is pinching you for a second. Thats it! Good luck!!

  • I work at a clinic so i see this quite a bit. I've never been on an IUD but the women say that it really doesn't hurt (just some minor cramping putting it in) but that its a lot easier to take out

  • I LOVE MINE! Im almost at my 5year mark and cant wait to get out so we can continue with our family making! This has been the best 5 year birth control ever!

  • just don't kick me in the balls

  • This looks kind of painful...

I think I'll stick with the pill...

  • i have had mirena for almost a year now and i think its great! It didnt hurt going in and im not pregnant yet so i figure it works! I have irregular periods tho, but no cramps at all. I guess im a rare case and a success story!!

  • ...and be mindful of your partner. If you catch something with one of these in, you will cause some major damage.

  • If you have never been pregnant before, you expect severe pain for the first few weeks after inserting a copperT. How bad your cramps will be depends on how bad they are now. If you have bad cramps now, I wouldn't go with the copperT unless you really want to suffer for the convenience. My body is paying for that now. The Mirena is suppose to lighten/decrease your periods and ease cramps if you have them. For security reasons, I wanted to see my periods. Also, never sleep around ...

  • i hate this thing. i want mine out now!!! and im gettn it out asap.

  • what do you hate about it I might get one and want to know complications with them before I shell out the cash to get one. thanks

  • I finally got it taken out and it feels so much better! The complications I had were: cramping, really bad pain during intercourse, it would hurt so bad id feel like i was in labor or something. It causes ovarian cysts, they come and go, i believe i have had a few of those. I went to the hospital numerous amount of times... they never could figure out what was wrong. I got it taken out about 3 weeks ago, and got onto the patch, its a dream compared to the IUD. Thank heavens. I dont recommend it.

  • Had mine put in 2 years ago. Love it! Felt a little funny but there was no pain and only mild dizziness. Thinking about removal for more children and I figure no pain going in, hopefully none going out!

  • I would seriously recommend anyone having it done to practise yogic breathing. I haven't had kids so it was worse, but I closed my mounth and took very long and deep breaths through my nose and it really, really helped. The nurse thought I was a bit odd though lol. The more you relax the easier it will be.

  • Anyone experienced complications with IUD after insertion. I've had mine for slightly over 1yr...but I've noticed increase in severity of cramps during periods, heavier & longer periods, almost daily spotting throughout the month & mild on & off abdominal cramps occassionally b4 periods.

  • I just had one put in three weeks ago and I already made an appointment for removal. It's horrible!

I was using the Depo Provera and it wasn't too bad, except for the extra calcium you have to take.

  • i have had my IUD for almost 5 years and i havent had any real complications. like you, ive had an increase in cramps and heavy and longer periods. back pain due to cramps but overall, not too bad. hubby and i dont want any more kids, so its almost worth it, although ive been told that i shouldnt still be having "bad" cramps after having it for so long. mine is a 10 year copper coated IUD.

  • @proudairforcewi not the same as mirena coper t is so different and higher risk

  • Take 800 mg ibuprofen before getting it in. You will be fine. I got nasty dizziness though

  • YES It can be for some women.

  • uhmm... sorry for my ignorance but what is IUD?

  • It is a contraceptive device ,put into uterus by Doctor,it can last up to 5 years.

  • thanks, i already did a research :)

so is "getting it in" painful?

  • I made an appointment for IUD insert. my doctor suggested me to take Motrin pain killer before going to her office cos the process may make me a bit painful.

  • an IUD (intrauterine device) is a long acting reversible contraceptive birth control device placed in the uterus. It is a non hormonal method. The copper basically decapitates the sperm once it enters the body. The IUD can be left in the uterus for up to 10 years, the IUC (a very similar device but hormonal can be left for 5 years). It is Very effective and growing in popularity.

  • it was VERY painful!! I got one 2 years ago. I seriously cried. I recommend it for the effectiveness but warn others of the insertion. Horrible pains...just horrible.

  • wow! sounds encouraging...

  • I just had it done today and I had minor menstrual cramping. I just had a baby 14 weeks ago so that may be why it wasn't so bad.

  • I want mine taken out, but that just made me really freaked out about it !

  • Dont worry, its painless getting it out,

    not like getting it in.

  • OMG this is some sick shit.

  • I almost threw up
