  • Was that general acting on behalf of S.O.P.A.?

  • Thanks for recording your television butthole

  • @dog69420 Well done butt head for figuring that out !

  • I was actually an extra in the scene. It took two days to shoot, we had to film it over and over and over again. The crowd moved around the mall, and the images were later spliced together to to make it look like one large crowd. It was cold as hell those few days of shooting, and that was the last time I was an "extra" in any movie.

  • whos that asshole ripping the cords out?

  • he liked to say the f word

  • JENNY!!!

  • "There's one thing I have to say about Vietnam, and that's-- BZZZZZZT!!!"

    Rofl! XD

  • According to Tom Hanks, he says, "Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that."

  • i never knew that hippies could organise such demonstrations!

  • I love this part :-)

  • why did that guy pull the plugs on the mic? what's his problem?!

  • @bloodyrose1985 because he was the government deputy and the government didn't want the people to know the truth.

  • forrest is supposed to be saying "Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that." thats what tom hanks says at least

  • when they were shooting this film, was there really that much people in d.c??

  • @TomoexNanami no, it was computer-synthesized. but events like this did happen in history. the biggest anti-vietnam-war protest was in 1971 which had approximately 300,000 people.

  • Who is that guy with U.S clothes?

  • @lucdust Abbie Hoffman

  • damn hippies

  • Who is the man in the U.S.-flag?

  • my favorite part of the movie

  • imagine if this happened at one of these speeches. would be a seminal sixties moment

  • FODDEST GUMP!

  • does anyone know if that dude in the american shirt is actually based on someone?

  • "Forrest Gump!"- i love that part.

  • Go Forest go you good thing ..

  • When Forrest gets up to talk at the Vietnam rally in Washington, the microphone plug is pulled and you cannot hear him. According to Tom Hanks, he says, "Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that." I found it!!!! in imdb trivia

  • que emocionante carajo.............. la mejor escena...

  • my bad he says ur best friend could die rightinfront of u and u cant do anything about it some people come home to their mommas without any legs and some dont come home atall that all i have to say

  • he says, "Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. my friend bubba didnt come home alot of my friends died and thats a bad thing that all i have to say about that

  • what sucks is that this is one of only a handful of films that acknowledged the GI movement, VVAW, or the simple fact of heroic un-psychotic veterans opposing the war and not necessarily hating peace protestors.

  • @Konform2zoidberg you're right.

  • @Konform2zoidberg ...actually I think this might be the ONLY major film to ever acknowledg the GI movement, Vietnam Veterans Against the War, or the simple reality of heroic un-psychotic veterans opposing the war and not necessarily hating peace protestors.

So...thank you Robert Zemeckis, for this and Back to the Future.

  • I like the way that guy said Forrest Gump and then rose his fist...lol..

  • f u c k the F man.. hahaha

  • -..........that's all I have to say about that.

    - You said it all man, you said it all.

  • Is there a better quality version of this scene anywhere on youtube? Cheers.

  • i don't know why but i always cry at this part when they hug

  • a military guy grab and hippie girl in the water!!! wow

  • this reminds me of my boyfriend and i <3

  • There are a few bits in a few films that set me to snivelling like a girl, and this one of them.

  • tell us about Viet-Fuckin-Nam!!!!

  • who is that guy that says..."forest gump"? he looks like antonio banderas...or kevin spacey?

  • the war in VIET-FUCKIN-NAM!!

  • Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that.

  • LMAO 2:15

  • @fatdadspitbull wow, I just watched that part over and over and now im laughing my ass off. Now everytime I watch this movie, i'm going to laugh at that part and people are going to wonder why i'm laughing.

  • Why do I want to hug him?

  • who is this guy with the american shirt?????

  • @Farookhs Abbie Hoffman

  • THIS IS WHAT FOREST SAID: "Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that."

  • @RobtheBig I think you are possibly right Rob , and that's all I gotta say about that too...

  • What's ur name man?

My name is Forrest, Forrest Gump.

    Forrest Gump!

    GUMP!

  • this scene always makes me cry.

    such a great movie.

  • is this the march on the pentagon??

  • I really wish I knew what Forrest said about the war lol.

  • @Agent1W I bet he was talkin all about Bubba and Lieutenant Dan Taylor ;-)

  • @TheIronbru and his mama !!

  • @TheIronbru and @Agent1W, according to Tom Hanks, he says, "Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that."

  • @Agent1W: When Forrest gets up to talk at the Vietnam rally in Washington, the microphone plug is pulled and you cannot hear him. According to Tom Hanks, he says, "Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that."

  • @TheWBarry Well, that probably wasn't what they wanted to hear, but it's the most honest thing to say of any war. War is ugly enough without conflicting political objectives and should be avoided for peace.

  • @Agent1W in the book he said in veitnam ur best friend could die right infront ofu and u cant do a thing about it and its really bad. before he gets cut off listen he says ur be.... but in the book people on the stage and the viet fuckin name guy heard him

  • @runeman1996 I was just a kid back then and I wanted to learn something. Being like 8 years old, I didn't know what the war was like, so I was mad when the movie doesn't let you hear what he had to say.

Although the humor was Forrest not realizing that his mike got cut off!!!

  • @Agent1W he said in vietnam ur best friend can die right infront of u some people can lose their legs coming home to their mommas and some people dont come back at all and thats bad *mic comes back on*

  • @runeman1996 An honest answer. I thought those hippie fellows would expect him to say something of a political trash-talk sort, but they were right there with him.

Still, I thought the best part was when Jenny and Forest hugged in front of the crowd in the pool, like peas and carrots lol.

  • @runeman1996 thats supposed to be abbie hoffman

  • @Agent1W

Tom Hanks said the speech was "Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that."

  • @Agent1W he was talking bout lieutenant Dan not wanting ice cream

  • @cfranco714 I actually love ice cream, almost enough to snatch it from Forrest's hands! Yeah, I was mad when that good soft-serve ice cream was thrown away. But then again, I wasn't the one who wanted to die in war and ended up surviving without two legs either. :)

  • @Agent1W what forrest said was

"Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that"

  • @thatepiccactus Yea, thanks man. That info's important!

  • @Agent1W

Tom Hanks commented that it went something like:

"Sometimes when people go to Vietnam, they go home to their mommas without any legs. Sometimes they don't go home at all. That's a bad thing. That's all I have to say about that."

  • @USSCannonFodder That's what war is really like. It's a shame he was muted right when saying that.

  • War in Viet Fucking nam !!!!!!
