When i drove it It just feels like a lincoln towncar to drive....eg. cant see over the hood, smaller windows, very light steering, and too soft suspension. THe M5 may be different, but they can't change the car's dimensions.... luv the E39 M5 though, nobody can replace it! 5.0 V8 manual tranny with hardly any drivers aid!!!mmmmmmmmm

Love the car but you cant complain about the transmission. After you break in the car, you put the gear shifts at "D1" mode so it starts off in 2nd gear and the car acts like a Honda.
Have you seen the reviews about the tranny's for Lambos or Astons? Theyre HORRIBLE. The M5's is a work of art compared to theirs.

Wrong. the red line stops at 8,500rpm. 8250 is only for when you have the M button off.
