@igiveup851 All of the products I use are skin-safe and cosmetic grade. But some people are allergic or sensitive to certain ingredients - so it's always best to test it out first.
@mou0167 I usually re-melt any left over soap and pour it into a mold. then I fill my mugs with hot water and leave it for a few hours. The water dissolves the soap and clean-up is easy!
@loraisabell That's funny! Consumable also means anything that is used up - but I guess most people do use it in reference to food. Of course I think some soap smells so good I almost want to eat it, so......
@Yoko085 The rubbing alcohol I use is also called Isopropyl Alcohol. It comes in 71% and higher grades. I usually use the 71% and it works just fine for me. - Anne-Marie
@battihatti We sell them at Bramble Berry, of course. But you can also find silicone baking molds at most kitchen stores (or in the kitchen section) and they work perfectly as soap molds.
@elaine6655 You can make melt & pour soap without rubbing alcohol but you may have bubbles and your layers might not stick together. It's totally just an aesthetic thing.
@cherd1971 You mean in addition to my videos? ;) I would get a book like 'The Everything Soapmaking Book' by Alicia Grosso to learn more about making CP soap (or soap from scratch) we sell that book and many others at Bramble Berry, but you can also often great books like this at your local library. Hope this helps!
@qweaz987 Hi there, I answered this question for you over on the 'embedding soap' video as well - but just in case any other viewers have the same question I'll answer it here, too.
Unfortunately, You Tube won't allow links to be posted in comments. But you can go to my channel page and see links to my blog and the Bramble Berry store in my profile information.
Most craft stores - like Michaels - have the basic supplies you need to get started making melt & pour soap.

when you've finished with bowls and hugs, does the soap harden and stick, how do you remove that?

Will the alcohol effect your skin when you use your soap??
sweetnspicy17 1 year ago
@sweetnspicy17 No, the alcohol evaporates very quickly. It really isn't present in the final soap at all.
