Thanks for the comment. I returned from Africa last week where I had been working with Gorillas and Chimpanzees and didnt get a scratch. The day I returned home I went to my back yard and the squirrel attacked me. He leapt onto my face and bit my nose to the bone. He then attacked my cat and bit her face. Unfortunately I have had to relocate him to a wild area near my home. We miss him but he was too humanised and had no respect for people or other animals. At least Eeyore can rest safely now :)
The little monster found his way back to my house, he is now back in residence, terrifying people and animals in the neighbourhood. So I am going to have to take him much further away next time I can catch him.
I read online that it is possible for them to travel up to 25 miles to return to their nest. They can't fight for new territory that far away so they end up making an epic journey back home.
I caught him but I didnt have the heart to take him away.
He's a dangerous little fella but he is also a major source of entertainment so we still feed him every day.
He dissappeared for a month or so and we were a bit worried that he had been run over by a car or something equally nasty but he returned and is still his grumpy old self.
My dog still wants to eat him but he is now very dog wise and it would be a very outside chance that he would get caught off guard.
lol,,,, they are funny little animals
