  • "Whip It" by DEVO

  • Hung Gar win :D

  • The best song is no song.

  • Double KO!

  • Now try watching this video again except at the beginning repeat this dialog when they start fighting. Theres something on your face! Where? There! Where? There! HAHA!

  • song is perfect, don't change it.

  • That's not hun gar

the hibrid of snake and tiger, i guess

  • Damn, no dialogue. Do these guys talk about raping each others' wives as well?

  • the hung gar was sloppy... not saying om any good at it but... he didnt seem to have enough oomph to either part of the style (the tiger/hard power, or the crane/soft power)

  • Comment removed

  • uhh... I admire your song choice :L

  • Dude, of course the guy using Hung Gar won, he wash shirtless.

  • if anyone does know how to do any style of kung fu please make videos i always wanted to learn kung fu

  • Hey, better than TaeBo! Muhahahahahaha!

  • Who said aerobic kung-fu was boring?

  • My RL knowledge defies you internet skills!

  • it's all about kung fu

  • mix wing chun with hun gar, holy shit that is the greatest martial art ever...

  • what the fuck is up with that gay song ?

  • I Love Hung Gar Kung Fu

  • dem niggas just died like dat.....

  • Hung Gar style IS partially tiger style o_O

  • your fierce hung gar and praying mantis style can not last against my fierce tiger style

  • that was quite a huge opening for the mantis guy on 1:44 because he was on the center and the other guy was outside of it so they couldve though that trough a bit more but great scene

  • @ 2:51 it turns into dancing with the stars

  • I dont get it, what is HunG Gar, is it the mix of Tiger Crane Kung fu or is it another kung fu style? someone reply me please.

  • @OldFarmerJoe1

    it is Tiger Crane yes.

    solid and fluid.

  • the music sucks

  • hooo:-( coz the mantis fist guy pulls out his gut ...the fight was a draw...n this shirt less guy is none other than" Chi kuan chun".He is a superb hung style martial artist.Infact the best i have seen on screen.

  • ...I don't get it. Why did the shirtless guy throw himself down the hill too?

  • 15 years ago, this fight seemed so epic, now....wtf? Why are they moving so slow?

  • @ShinFuYux So true! But what I really like about this scene is that it's beautifully choreographed to show the movements from the two styles of kungfu. It's almost like a two-man form.

  • @ShinFuYux you white fat american pussy close your gay mouth

  • @ShinFuYux to show the exact movements so that people could perform them by watching.

  • chi kuan chun is fierce but at the same time a graceful fighter as well.

  • liu kang !!!

  • And the winner is... Charlie Sheen. duuhhh :)

  • What is the style at 1:18?

  • Comment removed

  • Crane is part of Hung Gar Kung Fu... dumb ass.

  • first of all mantis isnt just finger strikes there are punches, elbows ,headbutts, open palm strikes, trapping, and alot of throws, this movie is innacurate

  • hung gar looks gay. mantis ftw!

these dudes fight so slow that this video could actually be a music video if they addin a song. lol

  • Political/Popularity contest?

  • Is there such a thing as top five kung fu styles? In terms of popluarity.

  • @PrsFenderJackson1980 There is, and it is known to be the best martial art system ever... All you have to do is find the right practitioner

  • Well I better mute this video and put on some good music while I watch

  • i was thought to believe mantis were quick and immobilizing strength and that hard and speedy strikes were its main focus

  • @Jonah1719

It is! This is the closest to actual PM that I've seen in a KF movie, but this is still "movie" martial arts.

  • Hark-On Fung seemed to do Mantis in virtually every film I've seen him in except maybe Police Story.

  • @simozonelayer he did ba gua zhang in ip man 2 :)

  • @moondragon05 really? cool, I like bagua. I've seen Ip Man but not Ip Man 2 (yet).

    Cheers.

  • @simozonelayer bro, you have to see ip man 2, it was awesome! i think it was even better than the first, but as for 3 i would not suggest watching...

  • Guys, the two styles used on here are Hung Gar and Praying Mantis, but it is not the style that toph used. What Toph used was SOUTHERN praying mantis where as this is northern. The Hung style consists of the five animals and elements all of which Chi Kuan Chun is using. As far as people saying this is isn't Hung style because of its fluidity, this is false because you don't fight like you do in the form. Look up my sibak named Sharif Bey and watch his most recent video, it will explain it.

  • @crazedjustice888

I think Toph actually used WuZu Quan, which IS a southern style, but not specifically Mantis. Here's an example of the style:

    /watch?v=epMjrx78Bwo&feature=related

  • @StylZ905 It looks a lot like it, but it was actually sifu Ku, the choreographer of the series that said she was a mixture of SPM (southern praying mantis) and hung gar.

  • if you ever watched Avatar: the Last Airbender, Hun Gar is the form of earthbenders and Praying Mantis is the style Toph use.

  • i am sorry to say was using the mantis style but the other was using multiple shaolin styles of the north . hungar is not that flexible but it is a devastating fighting art in the hands of skilled fighter

  • MANTIS- U HAVE OFENDED MY HONOR I WILL DESTROY U HIYA

GAR- YH BRING IT BITCH WATAHHHH

    U GONNA DIE

NOW DAT IS HOW REAL MEAN SETTLE THNIGS

  • that was the most epic conclusion ever.

  • im a student of hung gar im still a beginner

  • that wasn't PURE hung gar ,, it was a various styles like tiger, crane, leopard ,snake and dragon even the other hero didn't play with pure mantis cause he used eagle claw at the end ,,,

but that was a great fight

  • @almooooqn3 together tiger & crane is hung gar. And the snake and dragon are almost the same they just have differnt names

  • @Aztechking2000 i afraid that i don't agree with u ,,

tiger style has many forms even crane as well ,, in fight u may use tiger fist and suddenly u may use the crane but it still not the hung gar,,

also dragon and snake u may find some similarities between it ,, but not the same

that is what i know ,,and i may be wrong,,

  • @Aztechking2000 im sorry but you cant say that dragon and snake kungfu styles are the same, that is idiocy, snake is flexible and deceiving using fast illusive strikes, usually to sensitive places dragon is powerful and straight to the point using powerful strikes and throws. They are like the opposite to each other

  • THIS IS CHINESE WHAT THE HELL IS THIS HORRIBLE MUSIC FORM ANOTHER TOTALLY DIFFERENT CULTURE HERE ?????? SUCKS

  • the song sucks!!...omg....

  • In the movie, he refers to his style as the cross technique. It is a style that has various styles which are combined with each other. The mantis style here is from the Manchurian adaptation of the technique. Lo Meng knows the mantis style and I quite sure it wasn't used as a floor show. Mantis style is very aggressive.

  • Definitely, the music is totally out of sense, besides that is almost and insult for the represented scene.

  • I practice hung gar... this scene is weak, very D:

  • @XxGirikxX what about shaolin mantis.. any good?

  • yucky music

  • Now-a-days they would poke each other using Facebook. It's much more practical.

  • Awesome music!! Goes very well with this video. I enjoyed watching it. Thanks for posting this. Good job!

  • I would have gone with something like Kungfu Fingin' or Indestuclable they would be good for this fight

  • no manches que mal pelean solo que de rato si estubieron peliando mejor

solo lo unico chido es la cancion

  • Is mantis kung fu any good?

  • @sayedb6 hell yeah i do it 3 times at week 4 hours its wery good!!! all the kung fu styles are good:D

  • Boomi Verus Toph!!!!

  • this song really sucks!

  • in an unrelated note both these styles are used in earth bending in the series avatar. Hung gar widely and praying mantis style used by toph.

  • @CatBarron i think the avatar makers based this "coincidence" on this particular film. makes me think.

  • @CatBarron and is the reason that i wantto pick upthis style of martail arts ,casue earth bending was my favourite :P

  • @CatBarron: Wat? Toph used Praying Mantis? i never noticed.

  • pratico hung gar... pena que 0o filnal do video é zuado.. xD

  • Hey, I love Chris Cornell and his stuff on this CD is great. I have it by the way. And this is an awesome clip from FSM. Keep the good stuff coming!

  • gay fight, gay music.

  • kung fu & audioslave!!!!! LEGEND

  • are they fighting or dancing? Ridiculous.

  • @xuxis2008 i think fighting.. bcuz if they were dancing.. they fail...

  • screw these guys, bad ass music.

  • the music put with this video is as shit as they come. Why take away the sound affects of the punches and kicks that make classic kung fu movies great?

  • what is hung gar?

  • @eleazarposadar Hung gar is a style of kung fu, and actually Wong Fei Hung's chosen style, though he didn't invent it and it's not named after him. Hung gar is usually characterized by powerful stances, especially horse, and powerful external movements. It's a very hard style, hard referring to the type of movements (wing chun is an example of an almost totally soft style), but it's still not without it's soft and internal movements.

  • @mjxshipton i love how HUNG GAR goes into all 5 animal techniques in one fluid motion

  • @eleazarposadar tiger, snake, crane, dragon,n leopard fist all in one

  • this is gay

  • Seems like a good video, only thing i didn't like was how high most of the hits were, they'd have missed even if not blocked.

  • WTF?! Praying Mantis technique is specialized to defeat stronger and bigger foes. I don't know why he was defeated.

  • @daizetsuzen Bcuz the art of Hungar has multiple techniques of evasion and 2 kill

  • @Kilamthehordekiller Oh.. haha..:D

  • Not bad, not bad. Though I'm not exactly sure how the mantis guy got so bloody. I'm pretty sure hung gar didn't hit him that hard...

  • Better than some gay hip hop

  • Allways some fucking fag music

  • @andyflamer i know right... oh well...

  • Epic!!

  • I totaly agree with oscar310796: ALL STYLES ARE GOOD!!!

  • Hung Gar rules

  • damn just damn

  • wtf for the ending

  • the best movie ever, just cant remember the name of it ????? anyone ?? help?

  • 5 Masters of Death.

  • read description ..

    Five shaolin masters (1974)

  • i really like the idea of looking to animals for fighting technics.

i'm still a noob in martial arts, i'm training for my first black belt in teakwondo now but i'm only 17 so i have a whole life of martial arts in front of me :D would like to train mantis in the future it makes good sense :D

  • Henqie, just an fyi. Northern Mantis is widely popular in the Shantung region of China. That is the Northeast part of China where it is very close to Korea. Traditional TKD has good hands, just that now they focus more kicks due to the Olympics. You will find that the martial arts of both are very similiar. My Sifu even says there is a very good Northern Mantis stylists in Korea. My point, all martial arts is basically one family. Take care my younger brother.

  • @Smackdaddyt

thanks for the reply really apriciate it:D

and you are right about the olympics. I see how much most schools nowa days only train their kicking for championships its sad because origional TKD really ballances the kicking an arms using, respecting the Ying-Yang principal, every block can be an attack and visa versa. in that perspective i have a really good school our teacher teaches us these things.

thanks for the info and take care brother

  • i can see their arts arent relied on legs that much...

whats the diffrents between hung gar adn hung ga?

  • No, Hung Gar empahsizes strong stances more than kicking (a southern thing) really. Hung Gar and Hung Ga are the same thing, different spellings.

  • I know the difference between Hung Gar and Hunger...

...one is where you need to eat something and the other is Tiger-Crane style Kung-Fu.

  • nunthing its just the way its written the place I learn at teaches the same thing but calls it Hong Gar

  • @TACT1CsMAN Nothing. Same style. Just a different romanization.

  • Where can I get a copy of this movie?

  • wayda kill a good scene with bad choice of music

  • @TriangleNsky totally the scene is awesomely awesome but the song... omgness no comment on the song.. haha

  • @TriangleNsky Haha, yeah, I admit it's a bit random. The audio screwed up after I spiced the scene together, so I just picked a song that fit with the length. If anyone has a suggestion for a better song, I'm open!

  • Tiger, king of the mountain.

  • Tiger Carne will win every time ^^

  • This is not right praying mantis style. But it is good for entertaining, like tv does. Nice music.

  • Hung Gar looks like one helluva art.

  • @supastaa88 it just looks more impressive because he's shirtless!

  • @supastaa88 I fought two Hung Gar practitioners at the 20th annual Chinese Martial Arts Open in Tulsa a few weeks ago, and I can tell you it is one hell of an art. My shins still hurt. :)

  • this reminds me of watching high school cheer leaders

  • oh my god, if this was a real battle the mantis would be owned, if the hung gar practitioner was any good at all that is. the hung gar student in my school is solid as hell, my mantis does little against him, cant even take out his roots. this battle is epic.

  • It's not the style that's important, it's how one's fighting skill leads you to use it. What you're really saying is that you haven't found a way to use mantis to counter his technique.

  • i understand what ur saying, you are correct, but there are certain styles that have strengths against others and weaknesses against others. ultimately it does come down to the individual, but each style has its strengths and weaknesses, mantis=water, flow,a lot of technique, hung gar= earth, solidity, toughness, different type of technique. it is hard to fight a stone wall.

  • Lol, yes. And of course I'm not going to be condesending by trying to give advice! I can only say that it's entirely possible for mantis to beat hung gar so don't be disheartened or incredulous because you don't know how to, yet. I wish you all the best in your studies.

  • have u ever heard the saying it is best to use 4 oz. to topple a thousand pounds? or that water can break stone? i'd say percission has the upper hand on brute strength. i myself take flying crane also not a very aggressive style but, if u train seriously and not just to c how many moves u can do then u should b able to beat him

  • i understand, you are correct. not trying to say anything is wrong about that, yet people keep saying i am and saying it over and over. just saying in general it is usually hard for a mantis practitioner to go against a more solid artform.

  • i somewhat agree because u r right kung fu is about the trial and the struggle. so ur technique (not srength) must indeed surpass his, i'm not sure if your familiar with the 5 rules of power but let me give an example y a big guy doesnt fight better. man on a benchpress initially exerts great force to lift the weight but as it reaches the top less force is required. contradictory, a martial artist uses speed to hit and flexes his fist at the last second so his power explodes into his opponent

  • You've clearly never seen a real mantis fighter then. Mantis is brutal.

  • 1. only if they want to be brutal, 2. i practice a form of preying mantis kung fu. 3. my sifu, his sifu, and many shaolin have agreed with and stated the same things, although i do get what everyone is saying.

  • Watching his, I'd figure Mantis to be akin to turning your fingers into needles or knives. Whatever the idea behind it, I don't think I'd want someone digging their fingers into my vitals. o.o

  • hey this video used to have annotations, what happened to it?

  • I'd rather stick with Taekwondo and Muay Thai

  • if you are better with kicks or just like this style more - do so

there is no better-then-everything-else martial arts, it all depends on the person utilizing it

  • 5 shaolin masters used to be my JOINT!!!!!! whooo! back in the day.kung fu theatere. 1986 when i was 14. every saturday... dam this movie brings back great memories!!!!

  • the best part was when he threw his ass off the cliff! I love hung they incorporate the five animals snake, crane, tiger, lepord and dragon... wasn't it sweet when he was trying to rip his head off with his dragon hands...? sorry I forget what all the hands are called but sweet dude.

  • 0:01 Planet of The Apes!

  • does anyone have any knowledge on the bee style martial arts? and of course, probably not chinese, but has anyone ever heard of a wolf style?

  • To be honest i dont think those styles are very well known and were probably created much later in time than the original shaolin styles although i could see bee style being about nerve attacks but i dont think wolves are a great creature to take attributes from. the tiger or leopard are much better creatures to extract strategies from

  • there is a ... Bee style?

With the praying mantis, I thought the main goal was putting them into submission by interlocking your arms with theirs and pinning them in a vulnerable position (like a real praying mantis does)

  • not really, there are a lot of offense and defense moves, and a whole lot of speed. And there are also weapons used in the 7 star mantis technique

  • Oooo cool :D

  • Lol these styles ahve alot of bad things about them.... You guys probly dont know any real things about these styles tho

  • and you do right?

  • dude its in a movie just chill, every style has its weak points. what do you know about Hung Gar...? Ever trained?

  • haha oh man i love hung ga

  • Awesome!

  • I personally practis Hun Gar but I LOVE MANTIS MORE THAN ANYOTHER STYLE

  • agreed, both are still absolutely amazing

  • Mantis is one hell of a martial art, but I prefer Hung Gar, Kempo, and other Earth-based styles. They all have a certain practicality to them that I find endearing.

  • what the hell? youtube got rid of all the in video text and replaced it with advertising D: I cant tell what forms are which

  • does anyone have any info on a animal style based off the BEE?

  • Muhammed Ali? Combines a little butterfly and bee... lol

  • well clearly this clip settles the 'which art is better' debate. We need more clips like this. On a more serious note - isn't this more northern style mantis?

  • hung gar is good if you could use it in real fight, if not your lost.

the style is not all, the practioner do the style.

  • que pelicula es esa

  • Hung gar is good for combat i practise it and once applied it in a real fight it's effective but it depends who teach hung gar if your master is a real chinese and with a history of martial art then your in good hands.

  • I practise Hung Gar =D

i like it, it's a good style. this is my first time i see the mantis style; but all the styles are good.

  • MANTIS IS THE BEST!... i know nothing is ever the best, but i still really like it. bitchin. Water art ftw. you should look at more vids, this does mantis style very little justice.

  • @oscar310796 Mantis is easy to learn the techniques hard to use in a fight.

It requires actually striking certian spots to be effective.

Not pressure points just well placed and targeted spots.

Most people I know who use it can only do a Kata of the moves and cant fight with it.

  • @oscar310796 : This is the shaolin mantis style not the real one. The position of fingers are different and the origins too. The original mantis style come from the north it is a wu tang style ^^. I practise the mantis old style fighting and it is very efficient especially with the fists, elbows and wrist ^^

  • "this styles better than that style, my style will destroy all, ours is the best of the southern systems."

such silly comments ppl please. all styles have merits and bad points but its practioner who makes them what they are, there is no best style.

  • This is AudioSlave

  • wing chun is the best style if we talk about southern kung fu

  • come on man... hung gar is pretty destructive there is no better style just better students

  • I love crane and praying mantis

  • the dragon is always the most affective sstyle of fighting when battleing for strength

  • Leopard and Snake are my favorite forms! They look so damn cool!!
