First of all, Alfred is the closest thing Bruce has to a father. Secondly, having family members that could die... does not add depth. Also, Batman being a multi billionaire helps him because he's a man (someone we can relate to), but think about this, a fat billionaire could buy all of that shit and still not be able to do anything like that. He didn't buy the years and years of training he had to endure to become who he is. That's like saying Bill Gates could be The Batman!

spider-man had to fight the likes of kraven, doc ock. the sandman, hydroman, hobgoblin, kingpin, two villians who know who he is and who they can use to hurt him, the green goblin and venom as well as the serial killer symbiote carnage.
