It's the down shed. You can create the loops on any open shed (up or down) the point is to bring up the loops between the warp threads that are currently "up" in that they are on the top plane of the shed. But you're right, I should have used clearer terminology.
A great video, though I have to admit, I was glad to see, I already understood the technique from the written instructions on the webpage ;o)
