  • Thank you very much my daughter is 9 years old and wants to learn so hard to find people like you.

  • expertvillage sucks

  • when you get to your pinky you don't have to make it go over the back of your hand...just get some momentum and go the other way...

  • Hello. I would like to start by saying your instructional guides are very helpful. I now attend a school taht doesn't have an afterschool twirling class. Everyone on the majorette auxillary are beginners. I try to teach them so of the things I have learned from my previous school's program. But our sponsor says I am just making up things. For my benefit would you please help me learn how to do the elbow roll in succession. I would greatly appreciate it.

  • my hands are sweating D:

  • eeww she does it wrong at the end ur ment to go back threw ur fingers not over ur hand :Lxx

  • I managed to do it!! Woho!!! However, its really hard, can't make my ring finger move and my little finger is sort of numb :D

  • so exactly, how does it get from your index finger to your pinky?

  • @100DiddlySquatxx you just twirl until it's under your pinky, haha, didn't figure that one out me neither.

Just twirl fast and it'll reach your pinky :P

  • In dutsch: vingertwirl xd

  • are the fingertwirls easier with a baton that has weighted ends? I'm trying to put some baton tricks in with my flow wand (which DOESN'T have weighted ends)

  • how get the dumb things that she says to get off my screen!

  • meh i bet i can twist a spliff better

  • ach wijf gaa eerst zelf leren marjoretten ;o

neem een voorbeeld aan mij ofzo

als k dit filmpje zou opnemen zouden ze tenminste nog wat leren

  • i have a question.... do u HAVE to goto ur pinky? and does it have go over ur index finger when twirling it back??

  • every 1;s majorettes are diffrent and it so confusing

  • im a use this to lean fire danceing!!!!!! :D

  • Twirl is my sport. And I'm Dutch's champion.

English is a probably wrong, I'm from the Netherlands....

  • Gosh you make it sound so simple! Thanks for posting this! Thank you!

  • twirling is fun!

  • woahhh... you do it so differently... we majorettes swing it through... like push it on our thumb and let it go through our fingers, then when it gets to your pinky, go back.

  • thanks so so much (:

i was trying to teach myself & i was doing it wrong.

now iknow how to thanks (:

  • this didn't help me a bit! does anyone know a good video? that will actually help?

  • where can yhu get a real baton at???

  • algy or online!

  • i remember this one,its a lil difficult the first 3-4 times but then it gets easy..

  • That Is Such A Bad Video

  • So many of you are ragging on her big time, so why is your video not posted and send us beginners a link. If you can't help, go twirl. But for now, she is very helpful! Thanks:)

  • this is all starter videos i been twirling 4 3 months and im better then her

  • oh yeah i began twirling for only 1 day!

true story..........i began yesterday bcause our try outs was today and i really wanna be a majorette!......

  • I really want to be a majorette next year because our band doesn't have one, and I'm really hoping my colorguard and gymnastics backgrounds will help me some. Now I just need a baton....

  • @twilightmoon193 u can get a baton at a dance store. just call ahead of time & see if they have any in stock.

  • it looks easy, but its not aha

  • catch my load

  • once i catch it it slows me down... i just want a continuos finger twirl

  • then roll it back through your fingers again through your thumb. this video is a very simple finger twirl.

  • Does anyone know how to twirl a stick like Gambit? please show me a link

  • I need to learn this for sunday! I have no chance. and this is not one of the things they first learn you, I learnt the basic twirls first

  • i can go backwards you dont just start over you go backwards

  • winniewinks, caitkp just because you can't do it & it's easier for you that way & you suck at it, doesn't mean it's the wrong way to do it.

  • actually ive been in contests before and won..the only times you go over the back is when your told to like in a routine or something but other then that you go back through the fingers. you shouldnt tell me i suck at something that is practically my life. i love batons, 2 batons, and fire batons. just because you dont know how to do it doesnt mean you can tell me i dont know how or that i cant

  • sure i can, you don't have any videos to prove me wrong, let see them

  • i dont have to have videos to let you know i can idc if you know if i can or not it doesnt matter to me

  • you shouldnt tell me i suck at something that is practically my life<-- somehow you care, otherwise there would be no answer from you. If you dont care what other people has to say about you, you could just shut up and ignore them, you know?

  • Yeeah, when I twirl back of hand, it always goes out of place- So I was taught to go through fingers comfortably fast. Isn't workinnggg..

    Someday, i'll master it.

  • its not to hard it just takes a lot of practice. good luck =)

  • THAT is dexterity!

  • you dont go over the back of your hand they do that for other things but you go back through your fingers...thats def. not the first thing i learned when i learned to twirl...i was 3 but i first learned horizontals and figure 8's

  • Comment removed

  • actually you dont go over the back of the hand twirling that way if you are doing a finger twirl set. you go through the fingers again from the pinky to the pointer finger. and when i started we learned figure eights...

  • Normally when you do these, going over the back of the hand, you go through all the fingers agiain, (But on theback side)Not just ovre the hand. You're only showing half of the steps. Once the baton reaches the pinky you let it role over through the fingers again on the top. You can also reverse it by letting them run through the plam again after it reaches the pinky.

  • I still don't get it - the first one she does is still too fast for me to see, lol :/

  • im a beginner, but my parents couldn't afford to send me to twirling when i was little. I really wanna learn though. does anybody have any tips or something i could watch?

PS: I wanna but a twirl ribbon. where can I get one cheap? Thnks!

  • Ok, well i learned that you DONT go to the pinky like that in a finger twirl. Plus that isnt the first thing learned in baton.

  • she has no clue!!

  • interesting!

    lol...

  • easiest way is to follow my steps in the last comment above. Also make sure you practice on both hands, although one is usually dominant. Pinky to index and index to pinky with make your fingers super strong, but keep your fingers relaxed to gain good control. Also hold the baton in the center for balance. Good luck!

  • Okayy im a beginner and i no she is doing it wrong. I usually catch on really quick but my teacher is really strick and im having trouble figuring out how to do this the CORRECT way. Can someone explane?!?! :/

  • You have to use ALL your fingers when returning the baton to your palm.

  • shes doing it wrong

  • she really has no clue, first of all, the ends are ball and top not toe and whatever else she called it. You don't roll it over the top of your hand and catch it, any beginner can tell you that. And yes I do know what I'm talking about, so don't bother telling me I'm jealous she can do it and I can't.

  • okay?

  • OK ... my daughter is trying to learn and this way is similar to what I have observed. Is your way very different and if so HOW. I would really appreciate your assistance.

  • The only main difference is the fingers should be more relaxed and the palm should be facing up, curl the fingers upward while turning from index towards the pinky, helps with control and keeps the movement smoother. Once it gets to the pinky finger, have your daughter grasp the baton with that finger only, roll the baton across the top and grab with the index. Or she could roll it back towards the pinky finger. Great for control and strength. Hope this helps!

  • i think she knows what shes doing.

  • The first things learned in baton twirling is figure eights and horizontals. and those are called FINGERTWIRLS. and your not doing them properly.

  • @Twirlgrl247 and u need to shut up at least she is tryin i swear all americas are starting to judge eachother ur nutin but a hater

  • so basically like a fingerpass in Penspinning

  • Im pretty sure that the first thing learned are the Figure 8 thingy and the Horizontal twirl...

  • ya me 2

  • agreed. verticals, horizontals, and front hand spins.
