How to Setup your Guitar with GarageBand in a Mac

I followed every steps in this video but my imac can not pick up the sound from my acoustic guitar. please help.

the problem was i hadnt downloaded Linein. i thought it was a built in program. anyone who cant do it, make sure you have DOWNLOADED LINEIN

how do you connect the guitar to the computer?.... my cable for the amp wont exactly fit.....

@Alex1627g You can get a 1/4 to 1/8 (I think those are the plug measurements...) adapter to plug into the mic hole. :)

I did exactly what you did. i plug it in from a female mono to an male mono then into my mac. I played a chord and nothing happened. does my mac have enough power for the guitar?

well iv got an m audio fast track, and all i get is feed back when i play. how do i get rid of the feed back? and i get even more feed back when using a behringer foot pedal?

that is what happens to all the computers you need to buy an adaptor it is not very cheapbut trust me it will help you it helped me a lot and tell me what kind of guitar and amp you have so i can help you more

First you need a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter, you can pick these up at Radio Shack. Plug your guitar cable into the end of the adapter then plug the other end into your guitar like you normally would. The other side of the adapter should be plugged into the small circular port on the left side of you computer, its not the Headphones port its the other one
