As a person who has a brother with UP syndrome, this video really hits home with me, almost made me cry really. People with down syndrome are just like anyone else, they are just a little slower. They have the same feelings, senses, and emotions as all the rest of us "normal" people. It makes me sick when people look down on kids with down syndrome. I only wish we could all be happy all the time and be worry free like people with down syndrome, they are the true heroes

I love this video, very nice. But some of these dreams are unrealistic. Running for president? Becoming a vet? Doctor? I don't see it happening, it just isn't in the cards for them so to speak. Just like it isn't in my cards to become a supermodel. No matter how bad I could want I just wasn't born with the goods, like these people weren't born with goods to be in places of great power and responsibility. Should we still encourage these unrealistic dreams even though we know they won't come true?

I don't get why people think having a child with down syndrome is so negative. I have not had children yet, but can honestly say if my child was born with down syndrome, I would not be upset, at all. My sister was a straight A student, popular, high IQ and everything else you would dream your child could be. But she has grown into a selfish woman, who has broken my parents hearts and caused both to have nervous breakdowns - I think it is 'normal' children who are often very overrated...
@tool2342 Maybe because people with down syndrome have a higher risk for many conditions such as certain heart malformations and other medical conditions. It's a normal reaction to be upset at first if you're child is born with a genetic condition.

thats awesome. everyday around highschool i see kids with disabilities and everyone watches them and keeps a distance. they recently found that dancing makes them happy at lunch so they boogie down. its the coolest thing ever so i decided to join a program that we have named panther pals which allows kids with more "popularity" to befriend kids in special education. so far I have had a ton of fun and i never real realized how great they can be. love em all to death. and im not affraid to say it.

I've been volunteering for the special olympis since I was in 4th grade, I'm 20 years old now, my cousin has downsyndrome and hes the reason I did the special olympics. I tell ya what from personal experience downsyndrome people are the greatest people in the world, they are always happy and cheerful, they never pass judgement on people. Kids with Special needs aren't weird or odd. They only want what everyone wants.... to be accepted. It is Special Education week & Autism & ADHD Awareness month, and this is in honor of all our children.
I work with two boys who have Down Syndrome at my school. I love them. They're such bright, fun people to be around. People with Down Syndrome are just the same as people who aren't. The kids I work with don't let their disability get in the way of their life. I know that someday, they will achieve their dreams, just as the video said.
There was this kid with Down’s Syndrome at camp and he didnt have any friends really, so i tried to talk to him a little bit every day and hang out with him, and as i was leaving, he came up to me and gave me a hug and said “Thank you for being my friend”. And it made me feel all nice and stuff :3

thats awesome. everyday around highschool i see kids with disabilities and everyone watches them and keeps a distance. they recently found that dancing makes them happy at lunch so they boogie down. its the coolest thing ever so i decided to join a program that we have named panther pals which allows kids with more "popularity" to befriend kids in special education. so far I have had a ton of fun and i never real realized how great they can be. love em all to death. and im not affraid to say it.

as human beings its natural for us to act differently towards abnormality, i would much rather have someone crack a joke and laugh about people with down syndrome., then have some crazy nuthead declare down syndrome people as not worthy and kill them at the birth ( old spartan practice). its ok to laugh, it really is, if you don't laugh then your just setting yourself up for cynicism and depression. just remember, every joke has a butt =)

My cousin is Suffering from Down Syndrome as well. in fact, he just got a Diploma.
I really cried because he fights till her dreams come true. he wants to be a teacher. I'll pray for his success.

All the people in this video and people with down syndrome worldwide are beautiful, loving, charismatic people. People who make fun of people with down's have never sat down to talk to one. They are wonderful, happy people and I love every single one of them.

I find this video great, but I don't like is how everybody is like "People with Down Syndrome are the best people in the world!" That's judgmental too because you don't know all of them. Some can be mean, just like some of us can be mean. You wouldn't say that about people with out a disability, would you? If you say they are human beings, they have personalities just like

I've been volunteering for the special olympis since I was in 4th grade, I'm 20 years old now, my cousin has downsyndrome and hes the reason I did the special olympics. I tell ya what from personal experience downsyndrome people are the greatest people in the world, they are always happy and cheerful, they never pass judgement on people. Yes there I.Q. may be low but they make up for it with the size of their heart. Fuck everyone that picks on these people, nobody wld pick on them if I was there

Kids with Special needs aren't weird or odd. They only want what everyone wants.... to be accepted. It is Special Education week & Autism & ADHD Awareness month, and this is in honor of all our children.

I work with two boys who have Down Syndrome at my school. I love them. They're such bright, fun people to be around. People with Down Syndrome are just the same as people who aren't. The kids I work with don't let their disability get in the way of their life. I know that someday, they will achieve their dreams, just as the video said.

There was this kid with Down’s Syndrome at camp and he didnt have any friends really, so i tried to talk to him a little bit every day and hang out with him, and as i was leaving, he came up to me and gave me a hug and said “Thank you for being my friend”. And it made me feel all nice and stuff :3
