Highly recommend map Reise Know-How World Mapping Project Namibia. The route Grootberg-Swakopmund: C40 to Palmwag, N C43 to Khowarib; S C43, gas in Palmwag (only liquor store and Himba bracelets); meat check border station. S C43 turns into C39. After Mowani, D2612 to C35/M76 to Brandberg and gas. M76 to Hentiesbaai (coast). N C34 to Seal Colony. S C34 to Swapkopmund. In Swapkopmund definitely sign up for the Desert Adventure with Chris Nell -appreciate dunes here and south much more!
Thanks for the information. We are going in September, following a similar route to you. I have a Canon SX10IS and my wife is thinking of getting the Panasonic TZ10. I hope we will be lucky enough to get as good quality photographs as you.
@25kayak hi, glad you enjoyed the photos. For this trip, I used the Panasonci/Lumix GF1 with the a:1.7/20 lens and the Leica DG Macro-Elmarit 1:2.8/45 lens - then cropped where necessary. My husband used the Panasonic/Lumix DMC-ZS3 (US model) and zooomed with the 300mm lens. I have since purchased two zooms 14-45 and the 45-200. As soon as I finish my YouTube on the Florida Gopher Tortoise, you can see that lens in action. Colleen
