  • Thanks for posting this. Had this album on vinyl once. Wish I could find another copy.

  • Cool, vastly underated song!!

  • fecken awesome. I grew up on this shit. nice cameo from Harry Lyon too. WHo is the babe keyboardist?

  • Fantastic to see this video again. I remember hearing Dave interviewed about this song; he described it as being about one night when he "plugged myself into the national grid" on stage ie was electrocuted, and was resuscitated by Graham Brazier.

  • one of the classic kiwi bands. Trying to get hold of some old Screaming memees footage. nono on youtube. Anyone got some?

  • Yes, I have one or three Mee Mee clips. I will post ASAP. I used to see them all the time live as a young fella. Great live band. The chicks loved them too.

  • Wonderful Memories!!! If I remember rightly, this song was composed in the memory of Paul Hewson, formerly of Dragon, who had died earlier that year.

  • Hewson died AFTER this came out - a year or so later.

From memory, this was about when McArtney had his own near-death experience: he got electrocuted with his own guitar

  • Come to think of it, I don't see Hewson in the video - although that would be due to Dragon's 1983-84 "Body and the Beat" Australasian comeback album and resulting tour...

As for this song, I recall Hello Sailor did a version of this later, although in more of a pub rock drinking song vein...

  • This song was from "The Catch" the final Pink Flamingo's album. Hewson left after "We Never Close" the second album. I did see him jamming at the Gluepot in 1985 shortly before he passed away. I may have been a Party Boys Gig.
