@ZglavociDePitesti The Cheyenne called themselves "Human Beings", as did a lot of other peoples. I think it's a tribal identity. It seems to imply that other tribes are NOT human, doesn't it? The word "Gypsy " is a corruption of "Egyptian", as it was believed that this is where they originated. As far as I know, they came from India. Personally, you have my sympathy if you have to put up with Gypsies- I travelled in Europe a while ago and cannot find anything positive to say about them.

@Beeshitten As a romanian,i was deeply ofended by the decision of the European Council to accept the word Rrom,first of all the similarity of the 2 terms Rom and Romanian, for some europeans are the same, not to mention that Romania had to change the abreviation from ROM to ROU for the same reason.Also it doesn`t make sense for an ethnic group to use as a name a word wich means, person,human , the name of a people must have something to do with their origin,history...

They did this everywhere they went and kept stealing different identities, since the 90's they're posing as romanians...it's really sad but what's worse is that in a few decades they'll be a majority in romania and then they're really be representative for Romania. :(
