I am from Germany and It's quite simple: In the 86 final Argentina was much better and was the best team of the tournament. In th 90 final Germany was much better (although the penalty was a dive but there was a clear penalty not given before). In the quarter final 2006 both teams were equal and Germany the luckier one ( Argentina would probably have won on a neutral place or in South America). In the quarter final 2010 Germany was better (due to the early goal which destroyed Argentinas plans.

Great final, so many great German players at that time, if only Franz Beckenbauer has allowed Lothar Matthäusto play the traditional mid field role instead of marking Maradonna the result may have been different.
