Buddy of mine just drove to the ball game. Said he was getting 10.3 mpg on his dodge ram hemi. After the K&N install he immediately saw a solid gain of 1.3mpg which put him up to 11.6mpg. I can see changes in mpg being more/less drastic, but from everything I've read any change in mpg has been a solid one.
@celloprof OH YEAH, and you can't forget the exhaust! Replacing your exhaust with a bigger diameter and a bigger and better flowing muffler complements the increased K&N air filter flow. They should help each other out.
heres an interesting question.. I have a intake that is made in tubing of diffrent lengths so that you can pretty much build your own system (by Spectre)...will a K&N filter fit on a Spectre intake?? or does the K&N Filters have a special attatchment??
it makes maybe 2 more mpg but u will really notice it in power better accel it dont feel slugish because it gets more air so the motor is not fighting to get air out of 2 tiny holes from the big stock box
K&N is nice, but u cannot feel a difference.. That's all in your head. Get a turbo, then u can feel something..

do they make a cold air intake kit for a 92 f150 with a 300 i6 besides the universal
rockjockey94 7 months ago
Does the cold air intake make the engine make a nice raspy sound when u put the pedal to the metal?

@Iwan2sk8GCS u can hear the air being sucked into CAI and SRI when u floor it. but not so much if ur driving and already at a high rpm

Yes it is saving me gas on my 1989 CRX and 1993 Excel.
kylereece22 1 year ago
it is taking in more air but you got to get a more open exuast so that air can escape faster
buying just a k&n air performance filter is a 1 out of the 2 steps to horsepower increase
