Michael Foot was many things but he was a poor choice of Labour leader which is undisputable since he lead Labour to their worst ever defeat.

If you want to be mean to Michael Foot you would call him an old fool (the guy was an old 69 in 1983) who lived in his own world.

If you want to kind about him I would say call him a romanticists who may not have been in tune with the public at large but was honest to about his ideals.
