Apparently these "vets" have no idea that we don't even buy oil from Iran, and even if we did, others would. Want to drop the price? Start drilling around the US first.
Iraq was never our "enemy". That was manufactured. The guys who were listed as the 911 "terrorists" were almost exclusively from Saudi Arabia - NONE from Iraq. If anyone is "our enemy" in Iraq then we are responsible for creating those enemies. Al Qaeda was formed and financed by the US CIA to fight the Russian invasion of Afghanistan. There was an INVASION of Iraq by the US - NOT a "war". (Hitler INVADED Poland.) If you don't want to get killed in Iraq....don't go.
Oh i get it, so we need to pass climate change legislation so we'll never buy oil from Iran again. That will show them, I'm sure no one else will buy oil from them either. Now, they retreated into Pakistan and and wreack havoc there, too. So you have no idea what the hell you're talking about. Oil Money is funding the future death of Western Civilization by providing those who hate us (not just America, Europe too) with the funding to do so.
@US1NF1D3L Typical stupid 'we're saving them from terrorism' attitude. Wake up. We have technology that can zoom into your pores on your idiotic face. You don't think we are unable to find the 'boogey man' in a cave?
Oil Money. Are you joking? Do you realize the 9/11 bombers were of Saudi descent? Why aren't we occupying their country?
@badicalindustries Buddy, I've been to Afghanistan. I never said we were saving "them" from terrorism. It's important to root out the safe havens/support networks for terrorist. It's a well known fact that most Islamic countries are supporters of terrorism. But I do think it's better that they're putting their efforts into fighting us in their own countries than on our own soil.
@US1NF1D3L Wow. You're an idiot. 'Cowardly swiss'. You retreat to stupid comments when you have no logical explanation to 'fighting terrorism'.
"They hate us for our freedom!" LOL What freedom? The freedom to be slaves to the almighty corporation. Lobbyists run your country. Your vote certainly doesn't mean shit.
@ryharwell That's not a stupid comment. The swiss are cowardly, If another country decided to invade Switzerland and/or conduct a terrorist attack, the Swiss would just sit back and think, "oh well." I never said they hate us for our freedom. I think you and badicall need to read what is written rather than adding stuff that's not there, or is even suggested. But Id love to see what a difference a it'd make fighting a bunch of Taliban with rusting AKs than trained militiamen with maintained Swiss Sturmgewehrs in EVERY HOUSE (as mandated by law).
I agree with Maneeshpan. We really need to stop relying on other country's for our resources. We are a strong nation and we are able to come together to make something else work. There has got to be another way to do this that doesn't involve killing our families.
A good video that makes the case for why we need to end our addiction to foreign oil and move toward a clean energy future that's good for the environment, national security and our economy.
Don't loose the great message by getting snagged on blaming Iraq - we need to get off of oil - we need to break our addiction. Oil has been at the center of war for over a hundred years - the fuel for the war machine and the reason for the wars.
EFPs were not created in Iran. I looked them up long ago. They have been around since WWII.
And they are used in the oil industry where they are called explosively formed penetrators. If they are used in the oil industry they are very likely known in Iraq, and any decent machine shop could make one with just a basic design.
Our special ops troops have them.
Time to lay back on attacking Iran, that's just a plan from the right to expand the war, a war we can't afford to expand.
@yonskii If they were made in Iran, do you have a source for that? I heard that from the Bush administration, but I don't believe a thing they say. Is there any supporting material?
Just post the words without the at or the other header stuff etc.
I googled it and on the web I got a lot of stuff dating back to Bush. I got newer stuff on google news, but only three, one from a college paper, one from someone pushing invade Iran to support Israel, and one blog by somebody I never heard of. Not one official pronouncement.
Find something authoritative and I'll be interested.
@bobklahn its not coming from Bush, these facts are coming straight from the commanders and generals.
"Coalition commanders have acknowledged that Iranian factories are mass producing EFPs to be used in combat and to undermine the elected government in Baghdad."
I have not found any such thing recently. If you have something please post it. The only thing I found that says that was 3 factories in Iran making EFPs. Think it through. Each factory, turning out one EFP per day, 200 days a year, is 600 EFPs/yr. How many EFPs are going off in all the world per year?
@bobklahn just because they are making them doesnt mean they are using them all immediately. they are building stock piles. first you said it was all Bush, i provided evidence to you that it was coming from the commanders on the ground from the USA as well as other coalition allies, and you still dont believe me. there is no reason NOT to believe Iran has a hand in killing out troops in Iraq. Irans own national security depends on what happens in Iraq.
Uh... that is your speculation. I said all the material I found was from the Bush time. I asked if you had anything more.
Actually, you did not provide evidence it was from US commanders. You said it, but without the reference to find it.
There is very good reason to hold off on concluding Iran had anything to do with killing our people. The best reason, if they did we need to go to war with them, and going to war without real evidence is Bush league stupidity.
Yes, Iran's national security does depend on what happens in Iraq, and 100,000 US soldiers suddenly turning to Iran is just what they don't want.
Of course we don't *HAVE* 100,000 soldiers who can turn to Iran, thanks to Bush.
The best reason not to believe it, Bush never did anything to punish them. If i were President, and Iran was blowing up our soldiers, I'd be assigning the USAF to take out a number of their military bases. A continuing string until their military takes over.
EFPs were not created in Iran. I looked them up long ago. They have been around since WWII.
And they are used in the oil industry where they are called explosively formed penetrators. If they are used in the oil industry they are very likely known in Iraq, and any decent machine shop could make one with just a basic design.

The logic in the video is invalid. It presupposes that the only solution is "Clean Climate", whatever that means.
There is enough natural gas in America to last 200 years. We just cracked the Bakken Formation, which should provide oil for the next 20.
Let's do research; but wind, solar, bio, and fusion aren't yet ready for prime time. It would be foolish to bet our economy on them right now.

Our special ops troops have them.
Time to lay back on attacking Iran, that's just a plan from the right to expand the war, a war we can't afford to expand.
