Who will own (and possibly hoard) those mined minerals? Whenever humans get involved in extracting our planet's resources, greed and mayhem follows. Why would the moon be any different?
This is good stuff. I've thought that the way this on the fast track would be to get an unmanned/remote controlled start on it by shipping up some basic stuff like robotics, solar collectors, mining gear, an energy and communication station, etc. along with a very small smelter, mill, a CAM system and other manufacturing equipment. These will be used to procure what can be from the moon to build more lunar infrastructure. I know it sounds complex, but it could be done.

You should build on the poles due to the proximity to frozen water. I think we confirmed that not long after this video was put out
