  • i remember i tryed to do a trick on my bike i messed up and i slammed my jaw of the ground 2 times i'm surprised it didn't break but now i like move my jaw to the left and i click it back in place it loses it place but i could move it when it loses all i got to do is get moving my jaw like i chew till it makes a crack and it's good but i was wondering is that like a bad sign

  • very good!

  • flavor's flave son

  • ive been dealing with this problem since i was 15 years old. I am now 24 and just today it happened again. I always have to go to the ER. Had surgery about 5 years ago it didnt lock until today. The pain is to much and i hate when it happens!

  • I have a question. You have this person Ativan? and Valium? Are you purposely trying to get him high?

  • this just happened to me today. the doc did the same thing and placed me in a neck brace to keep my jaw closed

  • This is scary. I have TMJ, due to an injury i did myself not realising it at the time. By simply pushing my teeth inwards hard enough can move the jaw and cause it to not funcntion properly. My lower 2 teeth were out at the gums and i would push them in and that led me to have TMJ. I'm trying to reverse the problem by putting pressure on the opposite way now. I just wish i knew what to do to fix it.

  • oh and one last question

I have very thin wrists is it safe for me to lift heavy weights and specifically to work on forearm training (which requirs bending the wrists holding weights) or is it risky and are there things I can do for the safely of my wrists.

thanks a lot for your time : )

  • @CIarKent You should be fine if you don't overdo it.

  • @CIarKent I'm pretty sure your talking about jerkin it but yea liftin weights... same thing... kinda

  • it doesn't bother me that much. the only times i even remember this problem is when I open a wide mouth.

I also have clicks in my ankles and my shoe laces are wearing off unevenly, probably because my legs are bow bent.

that's why I avoid running as a sport i'm afraid my knees and ankles might be at risk.

so I do other sport like swimming which is safer for the joints

  • I dislocated my jaw when i was a kid (my mouth was stuck) and I released it myself by just punching my jaw from the side.

ever since i have problems with my jaw (such as clicking or getting stuck if I open my mouth too wide).

ever since I dislocated it I had this problem.

is there something that can be done to correct it now many years later?

  • @CIarKent There may be. Check with your dentist for a possible referral to a specialist in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) of the jaw.

  • @lmellick my dentist told me there is nothing that can be done except an operation. he asked me if I get headaques or suffer any pain and I said no. therefore I don't need an operation because it's not something that really bothers me in daily life that much.

I just get clicks from both sides when I open my mouth wide and it feels as if the movement of my jaw is uneven when I open it. one side clicks first and then the other one.

I guess i'll have this for the rest of my life

  • @CIarKent Having worked with oral surgeons it is my understanding that you only go to surgery when pain, etc. is pretty bad. The number of bad or frustrating outcomes from joint replacements etc. are pretty high...I am told. I have the same thing after a wisdom tooth extraction as a young adult and have resigned myself to the clicking.
