Good lord! An insane THIRD remake!? ??? I still haven't seen the one from the early-'90s! (And I dunno if that one's any good anyway.)

Heh, I sure hope the latest remake is better than that trailer! Trailers that give away key-points of the movie and tell waaay too much before-hand are fucking stupid! Real moviegoers hate spoilers, see!

Good or not, see the mid-'50s original and the late-'70s (first) remake, as those are definately very good!

The original was a sort of Cold War Red Scare, while the first remake alluded to the malaise and dehumanized apathy that seemed inherent in the most advanced of our Modern Civilization (hence taking place in a major metropolitan city [and urban wasteland] as opposed to the small town-model of the original).

I dunno about that second '90s remake or this third '00s remake, as I haven't seen them yet hehehehe

It was the 3rd remake of legendary Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Well, my favorite version was filmed in 1978. This one reminded me more version of 1993. Anyway it was awesome Sci-Fi movie. Nicole Kidman did a great job.

I'm a huge fan of "body snatchers" thing. Besides these films I love The Thing (1982), The Hidden (1987), They Live (1988), The Arrival (1996), Them (1996), Mimic (1997), The Faculty (1998), The Lake (1998), Terminal Invasion (2002), Final Days of Planet Earth (2006) etc

God, that space shuttle CGI was miserable...as was the majority of this film. I guess when a compelling script,taut direction,interesting performances and creepy,oppressive tone fail then do what TODAY'S pros do...........

I both agree and disagree with you.

The film became a casualty of studio meddling. What was once supposed to be a claustrophobic and unsettling sci-fi suspense picture (in the style of it's predecessors), became a loud and chaotically edited piece of shit staring mannequin Kidman with a few moments of poignancy thrown in to make us feel even more rueful about what could have been.

On the other hand, projectile vomit has worked on a few occasions, such as in The Exorcist.

I have to disagree with you in nicole's acting, she did an awesome job. Considering she was dealing very close to the body snatcher event with tom cruze, she showed right intensity to the most of the scenes. Ending when she reads the memo felt out of place and out of touch to the other epic versions.
