My opinion: You should use less words to express what you need to say.. I just didn't like how he was still talking after the first 30 seconds I wanted him to shut up.. The Question was simple and it got 2minute answer.. .. Just find the Keywords a company wants to hear and be ready to back it up with answers.
... also, i am the best bullshitter around because I say happy bullshit to you and to prove it you will hire me so that i can get more shit from the bulls so that your company spins faster on the fresh bullshit which i will shit!! Now, if u will excuse me, I gotte go n shit.
I started answering surveys and participating in focus groups 5 years ago and in a short month I made $852.00. Four months later I was making $4200. The key is to learn how you can take serious VIP paid surveys and triple or quadruple your paycheck.
@Zain844 im mocking on the fact that people expect you to say really nice but sometimes vague or unachievable things in your interview to make the first impression.
As a hiring supervisor I would hire him however I wouldn't remember a word he said cause it was too long. A strong, shorter would have made a stronger impact for me.
If he could come up with that much bull shit to talk about from a single question, he's a great candidate for customer service. People like for someone to talk to them. I hate customer service my self personally. I don't like talking with people. Its so irritating most of the time because people just waste your time with meaningless garbage. My job is fast & demanding. I just don't have time to talk. Give me a computer and a nice quiet office and I'm just fine.
If anyone can answer before 11 AM tomorrow, i have an interview and i want to know if i should bring up the fact that I'm going to be joining the marines when I'm 18.
This interview was great up until the 19th second then i immediately swtiched off. His answer was too damn long. If i was that interviewer, i'd be scared to ask the next question. If it took this guy 1 min and 58 seconds to answer a simple question like 'why should we hire you?'..... Imagine how long it will take him to answer a behavioural question...lol.
@losamigosrecords i dont know what you just said but it made me blow ice cold 7up out my nose. im going to start saying that to people even though i dont know what it means. ha!
After listening to him for more than a minute I was half expecting him to say, "When I was three years old, my classmates in preschool didn't want to let me play in the sand box. But after much persistence, and offers of candy, I finally prevailed."
@elzoog It was more of a long answer. I would think employers are looking for someone around this ball park but I wouldn't think they want a whole life story of why should this employer hire the applicant. Keeping it under 30 secs the most I'd say.
I would hire him; here is what they are looking for. Energy. Most companies want energy, positive energy. That's good and it is also contagious. That spills over to other workers. They want to see self esteem. It is not arrogant to sell yourself; in todays job market you will need to do that before you start selling the company's ideas and products. If you can't do that, sadly, you are dead in the water.
companies rarely (if ever) ask generic questions like that.... and if my manager heard a candidate answer a question like that, he'd come and laugh , telling me what a clown that candidate was.
im having my first interview tommorow, this only makes me scared, ive never had any supervisor tell im good etc, and that guys probably making all that up show off

Its a good thing to have a lot of experience and knowledge and motivation but sometimes they don't hire you because you could take their job. Most of the time you need someone to help you get in the company. Its not fare but theres nothing else to do. Everyone tries to do their best. :(
A year ago I went for an interview for a management post in a distribution firm- I was well qualified & experienced, but they gave the job to this slick younger guy in a perfect suit. In the feedback they criticised only my ‘physical presentation’.
About 6m later this guy had to leave, after numerous ‘misconduct’ complaints from female members of staff. Turns out he had a history of this, but no-one was allowed to mention it on his references- he just came across as an amazing high-flyer!
also I'm pretty sure saying what TYPE of personality you have kind of ... seems stupid? I mean who cares as long as you get the job done. That shows arrogance lol. TYPE A FOR ARROGANCE!
I would answer this way... "Well, first of all, it's up to you to hire me. And if you decide to hire me, it would be because you believe I'm qualified and have the necessary experience and skills and therefore I would be happy for that."
The reason people become a drug dealer, stripper or hooker.... all less demeaning than this dork, acting like a preening lapdpg jumping thru corporate hoops sucking the corp teet to land an over work, underpaid hack job
how come managers always act like your doing somethig wrong, like their always against you. Even when you do a good job, their still seem pissed at you. Why are they like that ?
@richiejustice1 Now, that is the million dollar question. You can be smarter, better looking, and more charismatic, but a gayer guy has the edge.
I want to fight for my next job...literally. I should bring some gloves and challenge the boss. After a good rumble, he'll realize how great it is for relieving stress. Talking is boring.
For those struggling to actually trying to get an interview, it is actually easy. All you must do is try and seperate yourself from the field. This can be done through networking or utilising many sources on the internet. Just as a starting point anyway.

He seems very educated and has learned how to answer questions clearly and in detail; providing concrete examples to make sure that his answers are "result-oriented." I would hire him.
Managers(people in power) often make decisions based on how it would affect their position instead of doing the correct thing. Some of their decisions are really mind-boggling. Job interview usually do not capture this.
Some jobs really look for devious, dishonest people who appear to be honest and direct. Most people that seek power are like that.
Why should we hire you?-is a stupid Q.
We all have our "social front" to hide the Freudian nature inside.
I'll be surprised if the video clip doens't end with him "spraying" all over the desk because of his hands jerking around. Otherwise, he gave some pretty good answers.
Essentially all this "kissing Ass" shit during an interview sort of makes me sick.
why do we feel the need to put ourselves thru this, for some corporate bullshit company that doesn't give a Damn About you when it comes down to it, and, we line up, nervously, and "prepare" to spew all this "Fluff" about what we've done, how "Great and reliable" a worker we'll be for them ( most often, for shit money) when we know once the honeymoon's over, we'll be looking for the door? anyone?
@drumdude46 I wouldn't kiss ass, period. My first interview. Guy said, "This job is tough, it can wear you out." I was like, "Yeah, that's all right." Got the job.

@hrbear
"social fronts" have their uses.
