  • where are parts 1,2 and 4?

  • hey question, i accidentally deleted the "Increase Width" preset by clicking that red X on the plugin is there a way to get it back? cuz im pretty new to this program

  • HI,I WAS WONDERING IF U COULD SHOW ME HOW TO COPY AND PASTE.E.G. I HAVE RECORDED 2 BARS OF SYNTH BASS, AND I JUST WANT TO MAKE REPITIONS OF THIS.THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.I LIKE THE TUTORIALS A LOT VERY HELPFUL!!

  • @robatisan1 Hi there, as long as your bass is quantized properly you can right click and select 'Groove Clip Looping' which will allow you to drag it out and it will just repeat the same riff. Or you could just hold down the Ctrl button and drag the clip to copy. Cheers

  • Amazing tutorial - best one I have seen for Cakewalk! Please keep them coming and apply for YouTube partner. I subscribed by the way.

  • @GameVerb Thank you very much, your support is much appreciated. You will be glad to hear I am currently working on a four part tutorial as we speak. Cheers

  • Wow!!! When you increased the width of the guitar it just blew my ears away! Great job with these tutorials man!!!

  • You should become a partner and have your videos go on for longer, these tutorials are great!

  • @Mackerni Thank you very much :)

  • your tutorial helps me alots, thanks !

  • Hi, what if you've already imported songs that are created in a studio and you just want to mix and master them. Can you help me with that. Thanks.

  • I've been wanting to buy this program, but I'm not sure how long it would take to actually be able to do things on my own rather than looking up tutorials. How user friendly is this. And how much music knowledge is really needed. Just a few questions.

  • Thanks much MCIHomeStudio for these helpful tutorials. One of the mysteries I still have is recording in surround. I have questions like- how to enable surround sound mixing in X1, how to assign tracks and mix, how will it affect the stereo mix (and thus how will it sound in car stereo) etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

  • GREAT JOB!!! ty

  • How do you add effect to a master channel? I like adding a Limiter on my master channel to prevent clipping but theres no function to add an fx to the master? How's that possible? am i doing something wrong cause i can't add fxs to a master channel? it's blank no button to add fxs.

  • Bro your tutorials are so helpful. I just got the program and you've helped me so much. Cheers mate and keep them coming.

  • @ericjamesharlow Thank you very much, im glad they help, more to come :)

  • actually can I ask why you record everything in stereo??is there a need, it eats up more processing power right?

  • @cianwhack Hi there. Yes you are right, having each track in stereo will indeed slow your pc down if it isnt high spec. Many have several tracks of both stereo and mono, and it really comes down to self preference. I have heard some that say mono is better, but i tend to record in stereo whenever possible. Thanks for your question :)

  • I can tell you really enjoy what you do. I know most of these tips and tricks but this was a quality tutorial. X1 is darn good DAW.

  • Hey Pippin love your tutorials.

Gone through them all several times, so much to learn.

I have a question for ya.

been working on a tune and finding it a bugger to get every track the right volume.

I tweak and tweak and every time one track sounds louder than another after I export and play on my ipod or stereo.

    Can you help?

    Thanks a million.

  • why is there not a tutorial for sonar x1 studio? there is only tutorials for sonar x1 producer?

  • Simply updating the appearance of DAW software goes far. I don't see why everyone isn't doing it. Especially the Magix the makers of Samplitude

  • Much better tutorial than the others I've seen. I appreciate you performing operations while the song is playing to hear what the effects are doing. Looking for part 2 of part three..... :)

  • Honestly what a great tutorial..thanks for taking the time to make it. I learned quite a bit. Yes and I agree keep those videos coming.:)

  • @slicktimdean Thank you, its nice to know you enjoyed it :)

  • Great tutorials! This has taught me slot about mixing and mastering (which I'm terrible at), definitely gonna pick up a copy of Sonar mow ^__^

  • @TheObscureMind im glad, you now have the sonar bug, you wont regret it ;) cheers

  • Haha, thanks to you I cant get off my cpu and youtube, Im new to Sonar and X1 as well as mixing and mastering...Ive just been using my ears but have no Idea of the purpose or concepts behind the efx I can only hear the difference...this is by far my favorite youtube channel...please keep the vids coming, Thanks!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for these tutorials they are helping me a ton!! keep them coming !!!

  • This tutorial is just fantastic! Great job man, thanks for that ;)

  • Thanks for the tutorials Pippen!

  • @guitarguy87 no problem, im glad they help :)

  • Your tutorials are being very useful, and they are really well explained! Thanks so much

  • @woz21zeck Hi there, thank you, i am glad you find them helpful. You may be pleased to know that I am, as we speak, finishing up the next tutorial 'Mastering pt 4 of 4', it will be uploaded very soon! :)

  • you've been a great help so far! very impressive how you succeed in explaining it simple although you obviously are an expert. Is the mastering part upcoming? Can't wait to be honnest. You possibly can't be hired for a day correcting my crap in Belgium :D?

  • @pieternaert2943 Hi there, yes the mastering tutorial is coming, i have just had a busy week, but I am working on it as we speak. As for your problem, if you would like to send me an email at mcistudio@hotmail.co.uk i will be more than happy to see what I can do :)

  • Thanks so much for the videos...I've been singing for a great many years and was so used to traveling to a studio for good mixes and recordings. I believe you will enable me to pre-mix well enough to make the Studio's work easier...Thanks Much.

  • @fotsmbc your very welcome, thank you, more to come...!! :)

  • I was a bit disappointed with this tutorial. You are mixing in the track view. Nothing wrong with that but it doesnt show you using Sonars Console view which is where I do my mixing. The techniques you use in this tutorial are fine but its a pity that you didnt show the console view at least once in the tutorial. However maybe you dont like mixing in the console view so I suppose its your workflow which is a matter of personal preference.

  • @Stevethesearcher I am sorry to hear that, I try to make all my tutorials as enjoyable as possible. I do however make good use of the mixer, I was merely doing a basic look at mixing and how to do it in the simplest method. In the future I will be sure to include a tutorial explaining the mixer and it many features! Thanks again for the comment :)

  • @MCIHomeStudio Dont get me wrong. Your tutorials are good and so is this one. I was just a bit surprised that the Console view didnt feature in a mixing tutorial. I have Sonar PE 7 and I want to upgrade to Sonar X1. My favourite area of Sonar PE7 is the console view. I was just wondering what Cakewalk had done with it in this brand new version of Sonar. With that in mind you can see why I might have been a bit disappointed not to see the console. However I do appreciate your videos.

  • @MCIHomeStudio Awesome tutorial! I really got a lot out of your explanation. I get more out of your tutorials than Cakewalks so.....Please continue producing more tutorials and I look forward to seeing more.

    Thanks,

    Bob Mooney

  • @ideasinsound Thank you for your kind words, im pleased to hear you enjoy them. I have been very busy recently as the other subscribers are aware, but I am soon to make a mastering tutorial :) thanks again!

  • Have you updated to X1 yet? OMG it is sickkkkkk. I too was using sonar 7 and vert weary of upgrading...the work flow is soooo much better my friend. Be prepared to kinda relearn it though...most shortcuts have changed and the GUI has DEFINITELY changed..i hated it for about 2 days,,,but then as I started to get going...im totally in love...everything they revamped was done for a reason...now i dont have to keep switching views, everything is right in front of you if you set it up that way!

  • @gruponemesis Hi- Thanks for that information. No I havent updated to Sonar X1 yet but I will do so in the very near future most probably early summer. What you have said echoes what I have heard on the Sonar forum. However at present it is still quite buggy and it still needs a couple of more updates in my opinion. They have released Sonar X1a and Sonar X1b to date as well as a new Hotfix procedure. I am glad to hear your feedback on it. Trying to get as much info as possible on it at present.

  • The only bug ive experienced is loading times...which I can live with. It is absolutely phenomenal to me..I have used Cakewalk since Cakewalk 9.0...I also owned a Protools HD setup in 2005 but had to sell (recession) got me. Loading takes a lil longer than usual but no big deal. Im running on win7 quad core 3.2, 4 gigs of ram, 4 hard drives, motu 192hd , motu 1296 ,midisport8x8 and alot of preamps and extra toys. Im running flawlessly up to 250 tracks (my test to try to crash the thing).

  • Excellent tutorial! Truly amazing, especially for those who start dealing with the proper mixing procedures. Wow! Thanks for sharing it! Nice! And the overall ideas related to Sonar X1 are spot on! We need more of your wonderful tutorials!!! Any chance to producing more? You've got an ear for the proper mixing. Bravo!

  • @psbmastering cheers for the nice comment :) and yes there is deffinately more tutorials to come, thanks! you can always sign up to our news letter @ our official site mcistudio.co.uk to get the load down of whats happening in advance! cheers again!

  • Your vids are really helping me out (only started recording 3 weeks ago) good tips to save cpu power with busses. Thanks, and please keep them coming!

  • @guitarguy87 thanks, more coming soon!!
