  • at 74 we did not sing it at all in Germany, may be still a war trauma...

  • why players dont sing the anthem?

  • The green jersey stands for the classical aera of German football.

  • seriöst kolla så fula svenskarna e

  • Unbelivable how ugly people were back then.

  • @Flash91s Today, footballers look like fragile cunt faggot greedy shits! Squabblng motherfuckers!

  • Just compare the German team of 1968 with 1974...

1968 they look normal,1974 like retarded hippies

  • @AustrianAtheist

everyone looked like hippies then, it was just the style. dont blame them.

  • 1974 & 1994 var de bästa fotbolls-VM Sverige gjort på "neutral" mark i modern tid

  • The real world cup not the MONKEY business! Wonderful!

  • notice the rather large gap between vogts and breitner?^^

  • @hahnenkampf88 lo, didn't most of the West German squad hate Breitner because he was a Communist or something?

  • Viva sweden,viva gerd muller!!

  • The guy at 0:17 looks like matthew bellamy xD

  • glorious pass at 2:29

  • they're great. those days are the time when football was the football.

nowadays with smart tactics and developed sports medicine, it seems that footballers have got weakened and diluted.

  • good old days.

players are much better - all the players are full of technique and sparks. and they play simple. it's great.

ch ronald? kaka? they're only kids, in comparison with all those greatest players of 1970s/1980s.

  • Some of the ugliest players ever, I think.

  • I like to watch old football games. Because the Reporters are better. They talk about FOOTBALL and no more.

  • And I like to watch old football games because players are better. They think about FOOTBALL and no more.

Leave the jokes aside -todays players care only about their image, fashion, lifestyle, about hot stories for the yellow press, how to be playboys, photo-models, TV stars, and anything else except....footballers!

The game was turned into a luxurious club for multimillionairs, in which the real, hard, manly, warrior virtues and ideals of the sport are forgotten, because of the golden calf!

  • Great comment! Football has became far too slick, far too commercialised, far too media-oriented, ie. the TV stations call the shots as much as the advertisers. It's a very, very, very simple form of athletics and at it's best is indeed the "beautiful game" but it has lots it's raw power over the years, I feel.

  • And there was usually only one commentator in those days, not two like today where they talk over each other. The 1978 World Cup's British TV coverage has two commentators (Jack Charlton, Iain Saint John) but they only interject at key moments. Commentators today babble utter shite at times and state the obvious ad nauseum.

  • In this time, We had the worlds best goalkeeper of the world , Ronnie Hellsytröm

  • dont forget sepp maier

  • Yes, Ronnie Hellsytröm, along with Poland's Jan Tomaszewski, was one of the great goalies in Europe at that time. Sweden held Holland to 0-0 in the 1st round group game and soundly beat Uruguay.

  • I seee funny faces BACK then !!!

  • GAME MUST BEE DIFFRENT THEN TIME

  • Saw the game in full lenght lately. Germany-Sweden 1974 is a brilliant WC-game. Pure offensive football by both teams. Beckenbauer said after the WC, Sweden was harder to play than Holland.

  • The 1974 West Germans were superb - they beat the Dutch on merit.

  • Yee but the goal Ralf Edström scored is one of World Cup historys most beautyful goals.

  • beckenbauer, maier, schwarzenbeck, bonhof, hölzenbein, herzog, müller, overath, vogts, breitner, hoeneß
