  • ok first off if your buying an otter box for what its meant for it shouldnt matter if there are watermarks and i could give two turtle shits if the BACK of my phone gets little scratches. so let me put this the easy way! if your buying an otter box to look cool, than your an idiot!

  • OMG this was such a HUGE help. im getting ready to buy one and i didnt want to have to take my anti glare screen protector off incase i ever want to change cases and to know it actually HELPS, i am SO thankful i found this!

  • This method works. I installed an AT&T Anti-fingerprint/Anti-glare screen protector on my iPhone 3G and I have no watermarks with my Otterbox Defender case. I am very pleased with the results.

  • Great video thank you...this does seem to be the best solution to the water mark dilemma. The baby powder trick seems like only a temporary fix.

  • I'm going to have to buy one of those anti glares... also, I'll have to call you a liar if you tell me you're not Swordsman75! I loved your BC2 coverage.

  • a lot of people don't understand this, but if you have one of those clothes to clean your glasses..it works to get rid of the watermarks too.

and so does a tissue, the lint keeps it from sticking.

  • man alot of people don't no this but tissue will fix the problem easily just blot the inside of the plastic cover till it gets some lent on it and place the phone inside of the case for a second take it back out wipe the iphone screen off to take most of the lent off and bam put it back together no more watermarks!!!!!!!!

  • this will work great as long as its a screen protector that has a matte finish, or non glossy finish. so no the invisible shield or skullcandy ones wont work trust me ive tried. with the ones that arent matte finish will still watermark or bubble. the cheaper thin matte finish ones work best, like 10 bucks for a pack of three at the AT&T store, i'm sure they'd put it on for you for free too, cuz they're a little tricky sometimes. they put mine on for me. works great

  • How will the heat from the battery escape from the phone? When using something like GPS etc, the phone warms up a little. Would it still be OK in this case?

  • Depreciated value of scracthed iphone is still worth more than a perfect iphone if you remove the cost an otterbox case, gel skin, and screen protector

    you guys are freaking anal

  • yeah but one drop on a hard surface from pocket height and you can most likely kiss it goodbye.

  • Dude luv it worked great it was so easy I did it going number 2 and I'm so happy with the results I've been staring at watermarks for 3 months and just watched your video. Can't wait to tell my buddys about it good job. Ps high 5 ....................

  • will this work with the invisible shield?

  • Yes, the anti-glare from Apple works awesome!!

  • wow cool customisation thanks for tip . the watermarks on my otterbox defender are herendous

  • Hey, I have the white Otterbox Defender. I hated the watermarks! Went out at lunch and bought a 5-pack of SurfaceShields Anti-Glare screen protectors for 3G. Stuck one on - and voila - no more water marks! Awesome! I just hate the granularity that most anti-glare shields produce when the screen is showing lighter backgrounds. Oh well, still worth getting rid of those darn watermarks! LOL

  • I just did the same thing today and now I'm stuck with the granularity issue now. It will have to do until i figure out another fix. I wonder if there's any other screen protector that wont have this issue.

  • musicskins work with it?

  • do you know how it would work with the mirror screen protector?

  • A mirror screen protector will fit, probably not with gelaskins though. It will still watermark though.

  • the case does work with gelaskins Jeff! I had one on when i first got my defender.

  • Yeah, it makes for a nice tight fit, I kinda like it, it makes the phone feel really secure in the case.

  • dude that case on the inside scares the hell out of me.

  • Thanks so much, Jeff. You're the best! =)

I got my phone. Now I just need to order the case.

  • Thanks for the reply!

  • Nice. Was it hard to put that skin on the back of your iPhone?

  • The GelaSkins are a little harder to put on because they have the sides that require really good alignment, but DecalGirl is an easy install, just takes a little patience.

  • Nice tip Jeff...although I don't own an Otterbox Defender lmao

  • nice tip..looks like a great way 2 stop watermarks

    happy holidays jeff

    applegear2g

  • nice also kool tip

  • anti glare = golden for the watermarks...

In response to the individual who asked you about it possibly scratching your phone... the simple solution is make sure your phone is 100% clean before you put it in... also make sure the case is clean.... there is NO WAY that I can see anything getting into the back area of this case after its locked on...

  • thanks for the follow up

  • Nice tip, that's easier than applying baby powder.

  • thanks awesome vid jeff

  • Nice video. keep up the good work.

  • Thanks Jeff for the tips i appreciate it very much

  • Another great video Jeff!

  • very cool vid/tips....not a fan of the defender -too bulky...but always great vids Jeff Kepp it up! Keep it fresh!

  • thanks for the tip
