  • Thumbs up if you think the music from 0:00 - 0:10 is just awesome

  • its called US Airways!!!!!

  • is this form 1999

  • they should pump sleeping gas in the mask so I can be unconsious when we crash instead of awake and having a heart attack.

  • The look on the kid's face when the oxygen masks come down is hilarious. "What is that?" it seems to say. And meanwhile, her mom puts it on like putting on an oxygen mask is something she does every day. Great video. I didn't think they would have A320s back in the day this seems to have been made, but I could be wrong. And this is the only video that I've found that actually shows how to use the exit slides and doors. Too bad they're gone...

  • voice is so weird

  • In the mask part the blonde womans daughter has the funniest look on her face. Kinda like D:

  • i like this video. ive never seen one that shows the slides inflating

  • The sound from 0:00-0:05 is good

  • Right.

Cause we would all be smiling when oxygen masks drop and when we are hanging on the dear life on a small floating thingy.

  • How come there's individual video screens in the first class? I thought America West had IFE but not PTV

  • There not they were like tvs were customers could buy games and view arrival info. US had them in them late 80s..

  • she isnt really talking the same words

  • she is.. the audio is abit faster then the video

  • I like how when the oxygen masks drop the blonde woman just looks at it happily and casually puts it on like it happens all the time!

  • yeah i know because in real life everyone would be like screaming and crying if they fell down lol

  • LOL sounds like robots talking

  • northwest when i flew them in july 2001 there was no videos just the captain himself doing the saftey speech while the cabin crew performed the actions of showing the masks and seatbelt usage good times back then

  • Thats the 1st time I've evr seen an airline safety video showing the slides, and masks in real-life, also how come they dont tell you to use you're seat cushion as a flotation device in england

  • Because in Europe we use lifejackets cause theres we fly over more seas+water in genarl!

  • Because Europeans aren't cheap so they actually provide a real means of flotation. just joking, its cause you guys fly over more water as the other person stated.

  • Awa video is fairly good, they actually use real props and dont do a quick sample. lol

  • sol

  • Why do the best always have to leave? PanAm, TWA, Song, Eastern, Swiss, and now AWA.

  • I agree, but Song was only a subsidiary of Delta.

  • did you know that American Airlines (AA or AAL), got cited for United States safety violations, and is now under investigation by the American FAA?

  • Ha! Thats what American gets for taking away TWA. It was like the best airline ever!

  • @banstaman don't forget nwa.

  • great airline america west...all the good airlines are going #1#1

  • Just wanted to correct KantaAce .. AWA bought US airways and their debt. IT was not US buying AWA

  • You are right! AWA DID IN FACT BUY US AIRWAYS!!!

  • @boxofficeadventures They merged not bought

  • I love you America West and always will! Damn U.S. Airways!

  • It has nothing to do with U.S. Airways.. We know that they are not as good... But AWA would not exist anymore if U.S. Airways did not buy them.

  • I believe it is if AWA Didn't buy US. not if US didn't buy AWA

  • Yeah that confused me at first. I hear that America West wanted to have an eastern network, so that's why they bought US Airways, and just used the name so it's more "focused" on all of the USA, not just the west. I only hear bad things about US though...they would have been better off either keeping their name, or create a completely new one!

  • thats incorrect US bought AWA.

  • US+AWA Suck

AWA bought US when US was in bankruptcy.

  • To be honnest with you people. I still belive that America West stil exists today. It's only that all the America West planes now use the US Airways livery on them. I mean the seats on the planes are still the same and so is the service too. So people don't think that America West is gone because it's serivce and low fares still exists in US Airways. In fact I'm flying on US Airways tonight.

  • Thank you for backing me. US would have dissappeared without AWA buying their debt

  • I'll miss HP! I loved flying the Cactus flights!

  • what does HP mean?

  • America West

  • The video looks like it was made in 1989!

  • actually, it was 1999. lol

  • I think this is one of the best safety videos I have seen. This demonstration actually shows you what using the slides looks like, and how to physically open the doors. Most safety videos only tell you about these features but don't actually show anyone in the process of using them.

  • Look at the ANA video. It shows flight attendants opening the doors, albiet we do not get to see the actual slides inflate.

Usually aircraft safety doors have arrows indicating which direction the lever needs to be pulled. Nonetheless, I like the idea of stating how to operate each door in the video (even if the information is already in the safety card).

  • i know, right? think of how good it would be if they had life jackets?

  • Note that at the end that the audio track for her voice ends before she stops moving her lips.

  • one of those people looked like Michael Jackson.

  • JAL has better video graphics, but this is better, because the video shows real people demonstrating, rather than an animation.

  • ANA has a mix of real people and computer animation.

  • No life jackets ooooooo that's horrible

  • In that case you would use your seat cushion as a flotation device.

  • OMG! These people have voices like the evil aliens in Star Wars!

  • no life jackets?

  • America West's A320s were not ETOPS certified, so the didnt fly overwater, so life jackets werent needed.

  • America West Airlines ran A320-232's, Which means they have the International Aero Engines V2500. As far as that is concerned every member of the A320 family is ETOPS certifiedd, and the V2500 gives longer ETOPS of up to 90 minutes.

  • yes they may have been able to, but you still need ETOPS cert.

  • lmao HOW CHEESY is that?

  • ECHO!!!

  • The lady looks like a transvestite!

  • actually a320's are not able to crash if there is a engine failure only if the engines revive before 10 minutes.

  • they ate possible, every plane is possable.... engine failure, pilot freaks out, dosent look where flying, BOOM!

  • Awesome!...but the way this sounds makes the video sound possesed

  • When I first flew on America West, I enjoyed the music used in the beginning and end. Even now, it is still my favorite. When I listened to US Airways, after the merger, the music sounds horrible. Why didn't Parker keep the music theme from America West? It sounds way better.

  • The girl was talking but the sound came out first, so she was moving her mouth but no sound. lol out of sync

  • I agree tt083728 if you are going to be talking trash atleast know what you are talking about.

  • Quote-->Ok to who ever wrote the comment above this, it would be almost funny if you knew what you were talking about sense America West dosent operate any planes with 4 engines also they dont use life vest they use the seat cushions for flotation.

-It's most likely the same person who said that a 757 really didn't crash into the pentagon on 9/11. (rolls eyes)

  • or that the United Airlines 767-200 which we saw in 35 different videos which crashed into the WTC tower 2 was actually either a hologram, Cruise missile inside a remote-controlled lifesize model 767, or aliens.

  • OMG! LOL! yeah right. Prove it!

  • Ok to who ever wrote the comment above this, it would be almost funny if you knew what you were talking about sense America West dosent operate any planes with 4 engines also they dont use life vest they use the seat cushions for flotation. What you said was corny and rude, Im not tryin to be a little brown noiser but this video could save a passangers life someday, and maybe you should get one.

  • Most aircraft evacuations happen after survivable incidents such as overruns of runways, smoke detected in the cockpit and avionics, engine fires after bird ingestion and similar events which lead to soft, controlled landings. Aircraft with all engines down still glide.

  • In the highly unlikely event we lose ALL 4 engines... then in all probability... we'll go into the ground like a fuckin' dart! We'd be obliged if you'd wear your life vest. This will do you NO fuckin' good during a crash... but when archaeologists find your body 200 yrs. from now... they'll think there was a river here!

  • you don't know how much i appreciate AmWest/USAirways multimedia :)

  • I love AmericaWest better, if you love it so much, what is the title of the openning and closing song, it has a tune to it, Thank You!

  • Well the old theme was Get on Board but I don't know what the theme in this video is... The video clips seem to be from the Every Flight Counts ad campaign, so maybe the theme is Every Flight Counts... I know the US Airways theme was Traditional Transformations... now it's Fly with US... I'm curious to see what you know ;)

  • Apparently I might not know as much about America West as you might, probably because I'm younger, but I do know for a fact, it was the jetBlue from the 80's until jetBlue's start.

  • Yes, I think so too, but B6 hasn't been in bankruptcy...yet. I really hope they slow a/c deliveries so they wont be in bankruptcy.

America West was in bankruptcy in the early '90s.
