Does anyone know anything about the music that plays from the start to :23, and again from 2:45 to 3:12? It has haunted me ever since I first saw this movie back in the early 70's. Does anyone have a link to the song in its entirety?
Took a trip around Suffolk on Monday,(inspired by this video clip) I visited Lavenham and Kentwell Hall. Drove to Rushford, but could not find the church, I found Rushford Hall but none seemed to know where the church and College were.
Beautiful locations for a classic British horror film, all well worth visiting if you're a lover of beautiful buildings & countryside.I've been to Lavenham & Kentwell Hall, I'd like to go to Orford castle too.Does anyone know whether the film's climactic torture chamber scenes were actually filmed inside the castle?
Thank you for this, I am fascinated by this movie & it's history. It may be because I live in Bury St Edmunds, or it may be because it is a genuinely horific movie to watch (I mean that in good way).
@Doctorgoatboy Odeon Entertainment are going to be releasing a Blu-ray of Witchfinder General sometime this year, look on Amazon UK for pre-order details.I hope they use the same director's cut print that was used for the MGM region 1 DVD, it's a beauty!
Interesting, Just watched this movie on TV, My wife lived in Dairy Farm Rushford, which is just to the right of the entrance to Rushford Rectory/ Church , which is shown at the biggining of this footage.
Dairy Farm burnt down in the 1970s. My wife says there was evidence of a tunnel that went from the Rectory to Diary Farm.
A new build was placed at Dairy Farm, a large yellow building which is totally out of character of the village....
Excellent work! Does anyone know where the coastal scenes were shot i.e. with the fisherman? According to wikipedia, they were filmed at Dunwich, Suffolk, but I believe they were actually shot at Cuckmere Haven, Sussex with the Seven Sisters rocks in the background.
