The trick to this fight is to have the Hurricane Spin before you go in and then prepare to use the Hurricane Spin right after you throw Jalhalla towards one of the giant spike pillars, that way you can take out as many Poe's as possible with one attack...This has been a helpful hint from acer2008, the helpful websurfer...

ah your approach on defeating him excellent but I preferred my approach safely kill him *health issues because i tried to win game with only 3 hearts* just so you know I let jalhalla attack first and then use mirror shield to make his etoplasm to flesh throw him against the spiked piller(s) *yes same procedure as chunglo* throw bombs around poes and then start slashing (repeat until dead)

I find that this boss is much easier to defeat if you have the hurricane spin. just go back to Orca's house on Outset Island when you have 10 knight's crests. He'll teach you it. Then when the poes split up you should just use the hurricane spin to get rid of them faster. It really helped me out. I love this boss, by the way. He's my favorite to beat even if this temple was a hard one. Wind Waker is my favorite game out of the zelda series!

I had the Hurricane Spin when I fought this boss as well. My biggest problem was that I couldn't control it worth anything! Not to mention, Link would slow me up when he paused to be dizzy. I think it's a really cute attack, though.

The trick to getting back to battle faster is making sure you're close to a wall before the Hurricane Spin ends and ram into it. No dizzy spell, quick recovery. ^_^
