Well there are 2 kinds of books really, you can get books that explain things in layman's terms, without the math, but if you want "proof" or mathematical formulas as to why they have come to those conclusions in science then yep your gonna have to know heavy math. there are still many mysteries that have not been solved in science, but the understanding behind them is becoming clearer day by day.
