To Tehstupidbish. This was NOT a playback. You also listed Escala. I like Escala and before them Wild. Escala has a lot of playback. I doubt very seriously that a venue as reputable as Royal Albert Hall would ever allow 100% playback. Bond is very original. Haylie Eckert is one of the best female violin performers ever. So is Vanessa Mae. A Tito thumbs up.

@VIOLINSURI Is it so impossible that a group can sound the same live as on their CD? Some do. They probably have many tracks lined up to play along with the live instruments (like the vocals).

@VIOLINSURI Well you gotta realize, if they were using acoustic/mic'd instruments it would sound a whole lot different, but infact they're using electric ones which means you're getting a pure signal, and what you're hearing is most likely straight from the sound board/mixer so it is GOING to sound like it just came out of the studio. And any classically trained instrumentalist can no doubt play any song they know perfectly(within reason) every time. That is why they've trained for years on end.

Speaking of "Duels", I think that these ladies would do great at playing what is called the "Dueling Banjos" music from the file "Deliverance". They would just pair off into two opposing "teams" for it.

Actually, in that movie, the boy was playing his banjo, and the grown man was playing his guitar.

In any case, that music from "Deliverance" can by re-scored and re-keyed to be played by lost of different kinds of instruments, and especially stringed instruments. That is what is important.

I was trying to remember that too; it's a classical piece, old music, and I THINK it was is the Disney movie "Fantasia", but I'm not at all sure. I remember these images of big tidal waves crashing and storming; it fit the music beautifully. Do you by any chance know of a female violin trio that played "Kalinka" on a TV show? Just look up "Kalinka", and you'll find it; it's 3 women, a lot like Bond only they all play the violin, no vocals. I can't find out who they are, but they are wonderful.

I own the concert DVD and i have to say this sounds digitally mastered. it's either a play back or they have expensive synthesizer type equipment to adjust the notes to the pitch on the fly. Even top classical performers can't do that good, not for a whole concert.

If you think the Royal Albert Hall would let them get away with doing playback, your're crazy....They played every note to every song....If you could see the entire performance you would see they even switch the wireless belt pace from one instrument to another when they play "normal" instruments (meaning made from wood)
