  • Wouldn't stretching too hard into the pain imply risk of muscle tears and injury?

  • @kulza23 Re: "entering the pain cave".... There is no area in the brain for pain meaning pain is sort of subjective interpretation of stimuli. When a person GRITS their teeth or makes the "pain face" instead of creating muscular relaxtion the "pain face" tells the brain to HANG ON causing the muscles to hang on thus a lot stretching and "0" results. Relaxing the FACE and SMILING allows the body to release the tension.

  • This is how to cure the lower back rounding in the squat

  • I can't even get started without being in the "pain cave" I am a loser

  • this is the iliopsoas muscle and it can create very bad things when it is shortened. Most people who work desk jobs have shorted psoas muscles and pain can range from lower back pain, to numbness in buttocks, genetils, etc.

  • Too cool for school ;-)

    Such a lad.

  • Thanks! man hurts like hell but it helps so much thumb up

  • 'The Den of Pain' haha love it!

  • Great - I need this stuff bad!

  • Please explain the injunction against entering the "pain cave."

  • @kulza23

Ditto on this....my lack of flexibility has me in the pain cave very early into this stretch.

  • @kulza23 I'm pretty sure it was a reference to Fight Club.

  • Haha great choice in shorts and shoes. Flite-220 and wave shorts are my favorites for WODs

  • @NOREN1337 Not really sure what you mean by "that position," there were a few positions covered in the vid. The stretch is for the hip flexors, which may feel like the upper leg. Hope this helps you out..
