  • Is this Austin City Limits?

  • @donnellyseanelly too early for that- he looks too young

  • @donnellyseanelly yes..this is an out take of the austin city limits video. the footage is from 1983

  • IF YOU DON'T PLAY GUITAR--you can't imagine just how much fun it is to learn a Stevie Ray song!! --- to say more would be less

  • @Flatted357 I learned this song to the best of my abilities. It was a blast. Good thing I had a CD player with A-B (repeat). I probably annoyed my parents. I might try to relearn it.

  • @Flatted357 It's funny, cause I don't normally listen to Stevie ray Vaughan, but I lvoe watching him play live, and playing his stuff on guitar is the most fun shit ever. lol

  • genius, just amazing to watch, relentless.

  • Great SRV !!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is the true Country blues!

  • Immenso stevie!! nessun altro come te!!

  • Everytime i hear this song, i can't stop and think about the scene where Will Ferell in The anchorman is going to play "THE JAZZ-FLUTE" and then he says "Let's take the bass for a walk" :)

  • jesus christ. he doesn't stop. srv was a machine

  • isnt this the same venue eric johnson played at?

  • perfection! WooW

  • I still don't get how he plays!

  • he's like an alien, showing us poor people what to do with that guitar...

  • @jutjubian Hahahaha. Well said

  • GOD BLESS STEVIE.

  • WHY is Angus Young even mention on a SRV video. Angus is so Over rated. Angus repeats more then Chuck Berry. But anyway SRV is God, sorry Clapton but Stevie took Blues guitar player of the year from you (which Clapton alway won) never lost it untill he died

  • @lastchild06 Speaking of raw talent, absolutely, nobody had anything on Stevie. Being a fan of him for some years now, I'll agree that there are some instantly recognizable licks (which are SRV all the way), but most of the stuff he did was unique, and I've yet to hear it twice that many times across all of his song.

  • Evrything is cool.

  • and that is how the universe was created.....

  • As a guitarist, i can honestly say that this is the hardest song i have attempted to play. SRV's material is a lot harder to play than the vast majority of Zeppelin, ACDC, or Rush songs (and thats a lot coming from me because i am a massive Rush fan). He was one hell of a musician.

  • my god this is fucking terrible, sounds like a gallopping horse being run over by a train. he needs to put the banjo down and go die

  • @HammersAndWheels you neeed to go die to you lil piece of shit

  • @vodarklord Shut up hes right suck a fat one like stevie himself

  • @DawsonSkates stfu and go pleasure your self to papa roach you lil punk ass emo

  • @DawsonSkates i hope you and hammersandwheels both get your dumbass little faces run over by a train

  • @HammersAndWheels You need to visit a doctor. Dumb little troll.

  • some guys play the guitar ... But Stevie made it his BITCH.........

  • @tomgun7

SRV spanked his guitar and made it cry like no other man could.

  • @tomgun7 not stevies guitars esspecially not number 1 he treated her like a fine lady should be treated

  • why did someone feel the need to speed this up a hair. this is not his tempo. it makes his guitar and everything else sound not as clear. he doesnt need anyones computer genious to sound more impressive.

  • how the hell do people have this!!! i have the outtakes and i dont have this or superstition or lovestruck baby! WTF! someone tell me why or were i can get them

  • Damn.. snare sounds awful..... What?.... oh, ya Stevie was good, too...

  • @StraitKnopfler You do know that SRV worshiped the ground that Hendrix walked on. I understand the sentiment, but the man would've taken offense to it.

  • Hendrix died young because God wanted guitar lessons from him; SRV died young because Hendrix wanted SRV to give HIM guitar lessons.

  • @StraitKnopfler But Clapton is God and he's still alive. Hahaha I figure SRV and Jimi just jam all day long for the angels. "StraitKnopfler". Yeah! Mark Knopfler is the man,

  • he plays like a god.

  • Those fuckin comments are disgrace for thise video ... It's all abouit arguing who is better and who isn't ... Don't mind them Stevie ... u just play ur guitar cause you are the best at it ... maybe we meet some day on the other world :) ... and anybody of u fucker who is shitting on AC DC know shit abou music so u all fuck of and enjoy the music ...

  • Pero quien puede negar que este tipo es y será el mejor bluesman !!!! Blusero querido, estas ahora junto a Jimmy Hendrix haciendo Little Wing !!

Te extrañamos viejo !! Te recordamos asi, difundiendo tu legado a las generaciones actuales y a las venideras !!! (que escuchan reggaeton, por Dios.)

  • 3 people are guitar hero fans!!

  • "blues shredding" is so much more articulate than "metal shredding"

  • que lo pariò como tocaba este tipo!....GENIO!!!!

  • @renatino123 Viste!, es un idolo, visita mi canal ahi tengo todos un monton de videos de vaughan.

  • mix of texas bad ass and bruce lee :)

  • I can play this song and know a few others that can as well. The thing is NO ONE ever sounds like this when they play it. This man is truly legendary. You can play the exact same thing but you can't ever play it the exact same way he plays it.

  • There are guitar legends and then...there's Stevie =)

  • HA take that dragon force

  • Fuckin' gunslinger this guy was...

  • Got to admit it is pretty hard...

  • he probably wnats to move it but cant because he cant stop lol

  • I would be in panic with that white foulard caressing my lower string !!

  • and thts how you play guitar

  • You're right v00d00maker...he downright made love to that guitar on stage.

  • esto es casi pornografico O_O ese weon esta que le hace el amor a su guitarra

  • rofl notice how he's fingering bassnotes, and the thumb still wraps over? They guy's hands were enormous.

  • @DieFatorLiveThin Not only his hands were enormous, they were very very strong! Watch him play a 12 string on MTV Unplugged to have an idea how strong... He was a force of nature!

  • My Lord! There may have been better guitarist but there was no one that I would rather hear and see play than SRV. The man was a guitar genius and he had style.

  • @chaspjones there haven't been greater guitarists.

  • I just listened to the song stevie took this from and it was awesome. I think lightnings version was rocking and stevies is shuffling the blues.

  • O_o Rythm Machine

  • Hendrix & Vaughn... the only 2 guitarists I've ever seen that became the instrument when they played.

  • how can he play so much without pausing!!! wow! just by looking at him and my hand hurts.. hehe

  • the greatest guitar player of all time

  • awsome!

  • Steve Ray Thunderfingers.

  • jimi hendrix = srv

  • @PanRoqueee that ain true cuz SRV ain got that Dope feeling like Jimi. LOL haha im not judgin both guitarist just sayin that they both are great with different taste n style. lol

  • My inspiration. RIP SRV.

  • Love how he just walks out there and gets at it. John Mayer said it best when talking about SRV, there are only a few moments when you can match his same intensity and then your hand cramps up.... People may cover, but can never match what he did

  • how can any of you guys even post after seeing this? lol

  • steve vai??Satriani??

TRY TO PLAY THIS WITH THIS SOUL AND THESE STRINGS!!!

  • to like every comment on this video, i think its impossible to compare bands (except cover bands and the bands they are covering) everyone has something different. AC/DC are awesome. SRV is awesome. SRV plays blues. AC/DC plays Rock 'n' Roll. you can have your opinion about who is better, but who cares. no-use telling other people who they like. its all up to them. now that my corney speech is over, i will let you watch the rest of the video. :D

  • Everyone has their opinions as to who is better than who. S R V was a legend. Angus Young is ALSO a legend. My personal tastes lean more to S R V than AC/DC. As I said, it's my personal opinion. I love Rush more than anyone but we aren't comparing them here. Let everyone have their opinions and stop saying this or that band sucks. P.S. Slipknot and Blink182 SUCK!!!hahahahaha!!!

  • @mapquest68 love it just walks out and gets right to it ,,, he's right he never plays it the same twice ha ha

  • the saying is....."Stevie never played it the same way once...."

  • @DaddySez With the song that's less true. He plays this nearly the same every time with few exceptions.

  • ac/dc sucks

  • @ findingmyway,

    agreed

  • @findingmyway123 So does your mom.

  • if i could take guitar lessons from Stevie, Gary Moore, Bryan Setzer I could rule the World ha ha

  • Tru dat!

  • whoever said angus young is better than srv clearly has a mental disability. srv would take a shit on every member of ac/dc

  • @kevincarrrrrrrr

lol, agreed, and just for the record, i love both bands, but really acdc is not even in the same ballpark as srv

  • @ALLHailZeppelin You are a Fucking Moron. Stevie Ray Vaughan IS THE BLUES!

  • @Woodsballerman

.......... I NEVER said he wasn't, I fucking love Stevie too, he's the best blues guitarist of all time and can ~solo~ circles around Angus Young, but AC/DC still ROCKS harder than anyone, SRV isn't hard rock. That's all I meant.

  • @Woodsballerman I BELIEVE STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN IS MUSIC

AND MUSIC IS STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN

    NOT SIMPLY BLUES

  • @kevincarrrrrrrr SRV was one of a kind ... and AC DC are one of a kind ... the most stupid fuckin shit u can do is compare them ... you people should fuckin play ur guitar more and less think about who is better ond who isn't ... damn ... both SRV and Bon Scott would tell u to fuck off with that shit ... God bless their souls, cause they are both my heroes ...

  • @kevincarrrrrrrr you can't compare them..MUSIC ISN'T COMPETITION WTF!

  • @kevincarrrrrrrr this is a different music than ac'dc-s retard...surely angus can play like this,he is a genius like steavie...

  • @kevincarrrrrrrr

Depends what context you're referring too, SRV is a true bluesman whereas AC/DC is Blues Rock and they both use different style as SRV is primarily based on the blues scale and Angus uses the mixolydian frequently so in many regards his music is far more complex. Although theoretical knowledge doesn't always make a better guitarist, the ability to sound good playing different styles should be greater appreciated. which in my opinion Angus demonstrates more then SRV ever did.

  • @kevincarrrrrrrr Stevie's to nice to do that ;)

  • @kevincarrrrrrrr Two different genres, why not just say they are both good?

  • when did he start playing?

  • he got his first guitar when he was 6 or 7 :) 1961 i believe.

  • @AlexSali - first thing in the morning.

  • 3 minutes 34 of pure Awsomeness

  • Is some kid on here trying to be that guy who says other bands are better? I love AC/DC and Angus is great, but don't compare him to other people. Angus is just Angus that's all there is to it. He would admit it himself that he would never try to do this or that he could. Stop comparing people it makes you look stupid.

  • Angus has nothen on this guy man he is the best guitarest in the world just look on the internet and is the best and always will be so Anus sucks bad

  • @cardnal24 Thats what i said i stupid. I said that whoever was trying to start arguments. I said don't compare people, i said Angus would admit himself that SRV was better. Don't try to start an argument with me because you will lose and very foolish. Angus is a great guitarist, he revolutionized hard rock by guitar that punches you in the gut. Saying SRV is the greatest is a bold move. All a matter of opinion. I myself believe that Duane Allman was the best. There is no set answer buddy.

  • They're both great, but i think you can't compare a blues guitarist with a rock/hard-rock guitarist :/

  • @Poloz113 that is exactly what i'm saying, im tired of people comparing guitarists in different genres. They are both great in their own aspects.

  • Excuse me, but Stevie was a blues/rock guitar player just like Angus.

  • @makilovi66 Um no. Stevie was hard blues. Angus was highly influenced by the blues, but the style is totally different

  • haha. angus is a huge blues guitarist. not saying either one is better. but angus is basically a blues guitarist with some rough gain and a different tempo. ha hed even say so himself. his greatest influence was chuck berry! haha

  • love this track. I dream of playing this. I love SRV but the shirt reminds me of that Seinfeld episode, "But i don't wanna be the pirate."

  • the run he does at about 55 seconds in is awesome.

  • @timmy47 ya i think he got that from the hideaway run but he sped it up !

  • i´m learning this on guitar.

    thats sick

  • What you call late, might be a deliberate rest..Stevie was known to put a little syncopation in the melody line occasionally, especially on covers.

  • This is pretty cool. A lot like Guitar Boogie, Hot Rod Lincoln, Rockabilly Boogie, .

  • i love AC/DC but angus' hands would fall off trying this

and SRV could easily bang out their shit

    jamesstone, whatchu talkin bout?

  • simply amazing !!! i love it !!

  • Every time I watch this, or listen it on the CD, I am just totally amazed at the talent. Unbelieveable. Thank you SRV. RIP.

  • Jimi, the most innovative!!! Stevie, greatest ever to lay his hands on a guitar!!! Does he ever make a mistake???

  • yes the only mistakee i heard from him is the little wing video : during the intro je plays a note about a second and a half too late !

  • love to hear angus young play this

  • I would say Stevie could

  • ACDC songs are super easy though.

  • yeah but their still great riffs

  • all ACDC songs are easy, its the solo's that are hard

  • Hells to the naw.

  • SRV would proberbly OWN all of ACDCs songs had he ever played any of em.

  • learn to play this song is the aim of my life, then i can die happy.

  • @svidrigajlov everyone can start this song up but cant keep it going . Rest in Peace our soul brother you are missed

  • @svidrigajlov

Haha, then i'm able to die happy with a age of 16 :P

  • @svidrigajlov This with scuttle buttinç was the songs that made me crush my guitar to a wall hehehe, now i can play them, feels so good. Actually i cried when played the entire rude mood :/

  • @svidrigajlov goo for this!

  • i wish the DVD Live in austin had this song... ive seen a ton of great songs not on the DVD, what a bummer.

  • negative... tomy emmanuel play this song...

  • Tommy plays a song called Guitar Boogie, by a guy named arthur smith. Very similar to this...

  • yeah, I thought this too! I think stevies song has also been an inspiration for tommy!

  • AGREE

  • no one will ever touch this

  • @wmc1103 you better go check out rolandvids he can play the hell out of this sounds like he invented it peace

  • @Rolandvids hahaha, do you actually think that that short fucker is anything close to playing this like Stevie Ray? sure, whoever is playing (whether it's you or not) is very good, better than myself, but there is no way in hell that it's being played "like he invented it," cause he fucking well didnt. i'll restate wmc, in case you cant read. "NO ONE WILL EVER TOUCH THIS." so respect that you couldn't lick SRV's balls on a good day. accept it, and dont say you're better that him

  • @wmc1103 Stevie is often imitated, but NEVER equaled. I laugh at all these clones, John Mayer, Kenny Vaughan Shepherd wannabes, they sound like watered-down shit compared to the original. Quit trying to cash in on Stevie's sound you useless wannabe motherfuckers!!! Come up with something of your own or give it up!

  • @wmc1103 that's the good thing about coming up with hard stuff- the chances it will be ruined by a lame cover are low///

  • one of the best verions someone put hole gig on here plzzzzzzz already got austian city limits

  • His guitar has better effect that in montreux, SRV rock!

  • I believe it was a similar rig in montreux the house mixer thought it was only going to an acoustic rock show so he used the wrong mic set up

  • He didn't have his amps at Montreux, he played through the stage's amps. Stevie hated it, haha.

Yeah, here he's going through his beloved Fender Twin Reverb. :)

  • twin? I heard stevie used super reverb , vibroverb and dumble , and later on he had some marshall amps.

  • nunca vi este de donde lo sacaste, tengo el recital de austin pero no esta esta cancion

  • how can one man have so much talent

  • Sonic speed version!!!!!

  • best version

  • F*&k Will Smith man, STEVIE IS LEGEND!!!

  • cocaine is a hell of a drug!

  • im rik james bitch wat made u say that any way

  • Damn the tempo is faster than he normally plays it.

    ACL!

  • THIS SONG IS FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s this is what blues with a country / rock twist to it not once have i heard another band play the same as him

  • Try puttin' this on yer fuckin' Guitar Hero. Nobody comes close to SRV.

  • its on rock band

  • Whoa. That's downright disrespectful.

  • yes it is but rock band just wants money

  • How exactly is it disrespectful to put i t on Rock Band?

It's gives people who would have never known about this song before, like me, to actually listen to and appreciate the song.

There's nothing wrong with Rock Band.

  • Okay, but that doesn't make you less of a douche for playing Rock Band and not the real thing haha

  • It's a game you stupid fuck, nowhere does it say "THIS IS LIKE A REAL GUITAR".

    Fucking moron.

  • mmmm my baby

  • I

    Love

    SRV.

  • Oh my God...
