I'm not a total prequel hater but this one really sucked. They should have made Anakin a power-hungry, rage-filled badass. Instead they made him a petulant, whiny, cocky little shit. Not to mention the cringe inducing dialogue. The only thing that made this one watchable was Samuel L. Jackson.

Well as a kid i dreamed to live in such a world, now i absolutely love the story, jedi-sith way of life and their conflicts, galaxy wars, and anakins and padmes love story.i think that A.skywalker is one of the most tragic characters in the movie history, and although u can't compare hayden with some legendary actors he has done an amazing job on his character and it's torment
I like this one. Aside from the Naboo scenes and a rather weak performance from Christensen, I liked this one quite a bit. Ewan McGregor is spot on, and his storyline was a lot of fun with the origins of the Clones as well as Jango Fett. And I'll even say that I think once Anakin leaves Naboo and goes to Tatooine his scenes get a lot better. Plus Christopher Lee is great in everything. Overall I rank it 4th, because quite honestly I find the two bookend chapters to be the weakest installments
Although this is my least favorite in the Star Wars saga, Attack of the Clones is still a remarkanle film and great adds to inspirational story George Lucas has brought to us. Yes, the romance isn't the best and Hayden Christensen isn't exactly an Oscar worthy actor, but I assure you that once you add this film to the entire Star Wars cinematic experience you'll be greatly amazed.
It's quite entertaining to watch the level of denial die-hard Star Wars fans operate on as they try to convince you that the romance in this movie was totally believable. To say Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman had chemistry in this film is like saying that a chair stacked on another chair is a sizzlingly erotic love scene.
I like the movie, but I've never defended the believability of the romance. It was mainly hurt by the fact they tried to fit too much story into this one movie (Starting the Clone War, Palpatine's continuing rise to power, the romance, and starting his fall to the dark side, etc) and the fact that romantic dialogue is hard to make sound not-soapy. Still, that's only one of the sub-plots. I though Obi-Wan's was good.

IMO the prequels are better then the originals. Way more action way more storyline just an overall better plot. And you really cant compare the the first three to the second 3. Thats like comparing apples and oranges. The originals where shot on a 25 mill budget the prequels a 120 mill budget.

The whole love plot between him and Padme was annoying. They barely had any reason for being in love.The only reason why they were in love was because Luke and Leia had to bet born. Other than that, barely any chemistry (except for the part with their kiss at the beginning of the arena sequence.) and both Nat and Hayden looked very uninterested with being n screen together.

@LDtheBrachio Look on the bright side: It was nominated for a Razzie award for best picture, and WON the Razzies for worst supporting actor (Hayden Christensen) and worst screenplay (George Lucas).
I loved this more than Phantom Menace, and it got me motivated into learning CGI. I could see a slight improvement in George's directing abilities, but alas, he dropped the ball terribly in some of the more emotional and dialogue heavy sequences. If George had just hired a better director for this film(all 3 prequels, actually!), it would have been up there with the original trilogy.
As for the haters: Jar-Jar is barely in the film. You have little excuse this time! ^_^

The reviews were bad and their legacies are largely that of junk that ruined the SW backstory forever.. The main people who don't like them for the most part are part of the main fan community. It is nearly divided in half. it aint the best, but its good, them love scenes between padme and anakin could have been less........silly and a bit more serious, the dialogue could have been better, the fight scenes were decent, so its not the best, but its not bad, atleast not as bad and full of shit as was episode 1

IMO the prequels are better then the originals. Way more action way more storyline just an overall better plot. And you really cant compare the the first three to the second 3. Thats like comparing apples and oranges. The originals where shot on a 25 mill budget the prequels a 120 mill budget.

In retrospect this is probably the worst one, but I remember seeing this when I was 9 during the previews for Spiderman and I almost shit myself.
May 16, 2002 is probably one of the best days of my life.

The whole love plot between him and Padme was annoying. They barely had any reason for being in love.The only reason why they were in love was because Luke and Leia had to bet born. Other than that, barely any chemistry (except for the part with their kiss at the beginning of the arena sequence.) and both Nat and Hayden looked very uninterested with being n screen together.
Good film though.

I loved this more than Phantom Menace, and it got me motivated into learning CGI. I could see a slight improvement in George's directing abilities, but alas, he dropped the ball terribly in some of the more emotional and dialogue heavy sequences. If George had just hired a better director for this film(all 3 prequels, actually!), it would have been up there with the original trilogy.
As for the haters: Jar-Jar is barely in the film. You have little excuse this time! ^_^

The reviews were bad and their legacies are largely that of junk that ruined the SW backstory forever.. The prequels are not about heart, character depth and emotions with the backdrop of great visuals like the original trilogy were. The prequels are about shoving as much shit into the frame as possible. Stupid CGI, dumb characters and lousy acting.. In short they suck..

It really wasn't that bad, and see how adding some of this new stuff in made it pretty good, I mean it is no where near as good as the original trilogy, but it was still pretty good.... And not all the reviews on the prequels were terrible, as a matter of fact a lot of them were positive reviews...

@dbreiden83080 Actually let me take that last comment back, the CGI was crammed into every single inch of the prequels, and I will give you the characters were a bit to dull compared to the original trilogies but I personally didn't think the story line was that terrible, and not all the characters were bad........ I liked the prequels but not as much as the first three......

So is that why they have generally positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes (critics and audiences) as well as IMDB? The main people who don't like them for the most part are part of the main fan community. It is nearly divided in half. Most people like them, it's just the haters make sure they speak louder at every opportunity they get. And yeah, the PT isn't as good as the Original Trilogy, but how many films are?
