Surviving the Million Dollar Highway

I love the mountains always have....I live just south of the hot, humid, ragweed & bug infested Kansas City area.....and BTW.....I'm a pilot & the flat lands of Kansas have to be the most boring place to fly in the world.....I'd take my chances flying over mountains with their beautiful scenery any day compared to endless corn & bean fields...!!

When I lived in Ouray, I told my friends in Silverton and Durango come Winter I would see them in the Spring. No driving south during the winter! BTW people who die on this road are usually residents of the area, they, (we) can get comfortable/over confident after awhile. DANGER Will Robinson Danger!!!

This could also be in CA. As I have lived in both states. I don't like mountains at all! It must be b/c I was born in KS. a flat state and now live in WI. another almost flat state.
