  • Hi i saw ur twists nd descided to twist my own 2 hahaha nd thanks to ur videos on youtube they look very nice. My problem is we here in germany dont have much choice of hair products for blacks so its not easy to treat ur hair in a way they can grow healthy so what can i do? any nature products? cos my hair is usual chin length nd seem not growing at all:(( i wish u can give me some ideas nd help me out stay blessed nd keep cool bye :)

  • @TheBlessed99

Try google and look for so called afro shops. They sell a range of products.

  • I've done this before, and it took longgg !

  • girl tht iis cutee cnt wait tll yuh finish . i wuld feel sorry for yuh doin all that man i wuldnt b able to tke all tht braiding on my own head OMG LLS

  • it's quite insensitive to call braiders "the Africans". if someone said "the african americans" relaxed my hair blablabla would you like it? Maybe yes, maybe no, but i don't know... it just doesn't sound right. And most people charged about 125-150 (max 200 and that would depend on how much hair you have and what length you want) as it is a time consuming and skillful process. So $15/twist is a complete rip off. Research before going to salons, simple as that.

    Nice braids in the video.

  • @Marush how is that insensitive that's truthful

  • @RhymeDyme What's your ethnicity rhymedyme? OK, let me reiterate the question I asked in my comment: if someone (who doesn't belong to your ethnic group) referred to a couple of people of your ethnic group (from your youtube videos I'm assuming you're African American) who did your hair (whether or not you liked the result is irrelevant) were called "the African Americans" (ex: the African Americans -or the Blacks- did this to my hair), would you feel comfortable with it?

  • @Marush I like being called black. African American is the "politically correct" term coined by the government for census purposes. I'm from america. I was not born in africa, therefore I am not african american. True my ancestors may be from africa bt we all mixed up anyways. Ppl find b;ack offensive bt u r wat u r. White ppl r white, blacks are blacks and idk wat indians and mexicans do....they are mostly immigrants anyways. Bt i dnt get offended over stuff like that.

  • @RhymeDyme ...refers to the 2 people as "THE BlackS/THE African AmericanS", it feels like an attack on a group. I bet if a white person told you the same thing she said in the video, (as in "THE BlackS did my hair this way"), you will not be happy. And I don't know you to say that I'm sure about it so if you don't take offense to that coming from a non-black person, more power to you. I just think that once someone lets you know you've offend them, it should be acknowledge because it's relative.

  • @Marush ok so now i understand what you're saying more...the africans set themselves up because they begin by naming their braiding shops african hair braiding shops....i dnt understand how thats offensive... how else can u refer to them??...it's almost inevitable

  • @RhymeDyme I think there's complete miscommunication here. If you say: "This African lady (or ladies) that braided me did this and that", you are referring to those specific ladies. When you say "THE AfricanS did this and that" you are referring to all Africans pure and simple. When I made the earlier comment about African American/Black, I was not implying that the word Black would be more offensive (I use it myself over AA) but that if 2 AA/Black people something to someone and the person...

  • @RhymeDyme Braids like this are African so of course they are going to call their shop African hair braiding. That's not the problem. If u want to refer to the braiders who did your hair (whether she messed it up or did them very well), you should refer to her either by her/their names or use things like "some, a couple of, 2/3/4, etc." since you are talking about those ladies. African is a beautiful word & identity and should be used but don't call 2 people "THE AfricanS". Can we agree on that?

  • @Marush i understand but how else do we go about calling them

  • omg i thought i was the only one ! lol .

  • lol u too funny, lol yea u should get some mad rating, and i had to search for your video bc u have one of the best styles of singalease, talk about bipolar hair, lol im transitioning from perm to natural and tell me please what hair u used. Next semester i want to rock these

For me, my hair gets really dry in the twist so i have to spray mine every other night to make sure my hair stays moisturized otherwise I have a lot of breakage when I take them out.

  • Love your tips! I do my own individuals but i tried to do the kinky twists FAILURE! So Im thinking bout trying to do the Senegalese twists but i cant see the back of my head so what do u recommend to make this task easier?

  • good luck! and also can you show how to do a couple of the braids, because i am trying to learn how to do somethings to my hair.

  • Why don't you get a relaxer for a whole year?

And what do you mean 'stretch the relaxer'?

  • I normaly relax every 8-10 weeks, stretching just means letting the new growth grow out and not relaxing so frequently.

  • i think she was refering her to 1-year relaxer anniversary...she was natural until very recently. And i guess she just likes to stretch her relaxer as long as she can to prevent damage...gr8 idea actually

  • What hair did you use?

  • You better have meant 15 CENTS a twist!! I have the kinky twists in my hair now that i did myself 6 weeks ago. And it turned out REALLY good especially when you curl the ends in hot water! They easy to do to...i got 1B/27

  • gurl u can braid. and lemme tell u...i am african, well my parents are and i get senegales twist ery summer and they cost $180-$200. and dats for the whole head. and u kno since im african i get a discount, but they still charge me $180. them africans up in florida is rippin people off...wtf $15 per twist...im not even guna calculate...thats bs. but go ahead urs look real good and professional!! and they last a long time.i keep mine in for at the most 3 months u jus gotta take care of them.

  • girl $180-200 for twist??????????????

You need to stop playing and come to Harlem and get that done for $100 or less and it looks good when they do it too

  • So you know I drivin' up from Miami to you so that you can do mine!!!! LOL just kidding! but it looks really nice!

  • I had those in my hair over Christmas break last year and I loved them! It took me FOREVER to finish them but they looked great and nobody could believe I had done them. They're great for the summer time!

  • so they are twists but they look like micros.... i like i like

  • no way gul just 3 days ago i decided i wanna have some twits 4 whole summer time lool i did it b4 and i like it. braids are the best thing 4 summer...i'm sure u'll look great in it

  • ur braids r always on point i just luv them n i was wondering if u could do a tutorial on it. thankx:-)

  • too funny!

  • Hi hun!! you know what will stretch your relaxer? A Dominican blow out thats what i do all the time in between relaxers cuz i cant go nappy but i cant do a perm every 6weeks my hair will fall the hell out! But check out a dominican blow out it might work for you!

  • I'm about to get me some kinky's cause I can't do the Texas heat!!!! so I feel ya gurl!

  • When I was in Nigeria they charged 10-15 American Dollars for that same style

  • Kudos to you. I have natural hair and do my own twists and braids too. It is a workout! Your sengalese twist look really cute so far. Good job Adri.

  • in louisiana its crazy 2..im gettn braids 2mah havent gottem n 4 years wish me luck lol

  • i would freakn loose count 15 each that is insane

  • LOLZ hell yea this african lady told my cousin that last year and the lady talkin bout she only do about 50 twist well i guess so!

  • Hey Adri!!! I feel you on the humidty.. It's the same way here where i'm at.. My last perm was March..

I think since it's summer i'm also gon stop with the relaxers.. At first I was debating transition but my style with my hair changes when the falls comes again so idk.. Stretching perms will save you alot of money & give your hair a rest..

  • GIRLLL my poor lil curls keep busting out of the cage it's crazy LOLZ so yea i was thinkin about just waiting until the fall to get another one becuz my hair is used to stretching and if i get one now im just gonna sweat it out anyways

  • omg adri im getting micros done right now im n da same boat wit you lol my new growth is outta control and im soooo tired of perming my hair. but those twist are really cute but i probably couldnt work them.

  • Your hairs gonna grow soooo much this summer..

Who the hell charges $15 each twist?!

  • some crazy ass african lady that told my cousin she would do hers for $15 a twist LMAO this was last year before they became really popular and she aint been to them yet lol

  • girl you r slick wit it...now i want to do my hair! lol

  • 15 a twist what the hell lol, gurl i aint know that i thought it was a flat rate i never did them but i will as soon as u show me how gurl .godd luck they cute already.u make me wanna dye my hair bk blk bc some fresh braids look fye as hell with jet blk weave, but get it gurl and good luck

  • LOLZ girll that's what i said..my cousin called some lady who worked in the african shop and she wanted them like last year before they became really popular and that lady said she does about 50 braids and she was like okay that's kool and that lady talkin bout $15 a twist LMAO

  • hip hip hurray!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO

  • oh how i wish i liv next to you so you can braid me up, lol you have a head full of hair i wish you luck, you got some work cut out head of you, iv'e always admired your hair

  • gurl you are reading my mind I've been wanting some twist in my hair

  • i want to get some twist or micros once my relaxer grows out some. i am only one month post so my roots are still kinda straight. im probably going to wait until august when my bf gets home so he can pay for the africans to do them LMAO!

  • LMAOZ girlll this one lady my cousin went too like last year before they became popular and wanted $15 a twist i was like WTF!

  • girl I feel you I do my hair all the time it will save you so much money but you will love it no wrapping it at night & etc but it looks really good but seneglese is quicker than braids trust me I know

  • LOL thankz :) but yea when i was doin them i was sayin to myself "well it's not as bad a micros" lol

  • omg senegalese twist . love em . i learned how to do em last year .

i gotta learn how to make em tight tight now . lmao . cant wait .

  • LOLZ it's the kind of hair i use it's different from the normal kankalon or kenkenkalon fiber hair becuz when i used that hair i had to use hot water and everything i was gettin mad! lol this hair doesn't require anything but twisting and a lil grease for shine

  • What kind of "special hair" do you use for these twists?

  • just regular 100% kanekalon braiding hair

  • it's a brand called hollywood yaky fiber it's not the normal kankekalon or kankelon fiber hair this hair doesn't require hot water to lock the twist once u twist it to the tips it stays without anything like spritz to hold it

  • those florida africans must be crazy i want to get braids but dont want to take them out lol

  • 15 a twist..no ma'am

  • i think yu should buy 2 packs when yu get some more!!!! its better ta have more than enought than to keep runnin to da store!! lol keep us posted cuz i want some this summer too!!!

  • i love the senegalese twist it took me 9 hours to do mine and they were very easy to take out ohh by the way GOOD LUCK !

  • well i just did my own took me 11hrs. if u wanna see ill send u pix ;]

  • ooo i wanna see :)

  • Omg u totally get 5 stars for this.....can't wait to see the tutorial!!!!! I may have to try those out sometime this summer!

  • LOLZ thankz i was tired already becuz i took out my other braids and i washed my hair

  • I say 3 snaps

  • do you start with a braid on your twist or with a twist?

  • I start wuth a braid becuz my hair is too soft to hold it with a twist at the root i can do it on others but it don't work in my hair for some reason

  • I gave you 5 stars because I know how tired I get when I do my whole hair in braids. And I remember when I was getting in some senegalese twist about 3 yrs ago and it drove me crazy it took a while!!! So have fun in your braiding adventure...LOL!!!!

  • LMAOZ thankz but damnn girl see man i know ima get mad with these things...i like them those, they're easier than micros becuz it's a specific type of braiding hair they sell here for these twist so all i have to use is grease to get the shine no hot water needed...im so happy lol that was my motivation to continue

  • i got my hair done like that in the winter by the africans and my hair grew soo much!!! i love it!!

    -kiara.chanel

  • oh 4real!! lol i kinda missed my whole head hair dos becuz it makes my hair grow also..my cousin went to the africans in Virginia and she said they were goin to charge her $15 a twist LOL! so that was my motivation to do my own lol but their work is BEAUTIFUL...i know yours were hott

  • $15 a twist ?!! what the hell ! they twisting with strands of gold or something . they dun bumped they skull .

  • omg $15 a twist!?! mine was expensive too, but i didnt pay for it, my bf mom did! lol but i have pics on my myspace, if you wanna c how mine looked.
